Jiang Ming and the other girls felt like a cold bucket of water had been splashed on their body as the two boys rounded her up like she was some princess and they were her knights In shining amour.
Jiang Meiying placed her hand back on the table and pretended to look pitiful.
"If these flies keep buzzing around me all day, how am I supposed to help you two study?"
At her words, Liu Rong suddenly stepped forward, breathing hard like she was ready to kill someone.
"Did you just call us flies, Jiang Meiying! Are you tired of living already?"
Just as she moved an inch closer, Li Fu calmly said, barring her way with one arm.
"Liu Rong please return to your seat with your friends. We wouldn't take it lightly if your try to bully Jiang Meiying!" He sounded serious, like he was going to toss one of the girls to the floor If the need arises.
She ignored them.
They were joking. They couldn't be serious about this!
Just as she was about to move another inch, she froze under two angry pairs of eyes. Li Fu and Hai Bo were glaring as if 𝐬𝐡𝐞 was really the annoying fly.
"Leave now!" Hai Bo who was usually the short-tempered one suddenly yelled, and the who cafeteria exploded in laughter as the three girls dashed off to their seats like they were being chased by the very devil.
Jiang Ming fumed when she sat back down and almost buried her gaze in her food, thinking about her first humiliation in school. The twins could only grind their teeth in agony as they stubbornly constructed a lot plan to severely deal with Jiang Meiying for this humiliation.
After the lunch break, everyone went to their respective classes. Jiang Ming, the twins, Jiang Meiying, Li Fu and Hai Bo were all in one class for the mathematics test; along with several other students.
Jiang Ming and her friends stared in amazement as Li Fu and Hai Bo took seats beside Jiang Meiying respectively.
Jiang Meiying caught Liu Rong shooting daggers at her as she pulled out her books to study some more, and calmly asked.
"Is there a problem?"
"Your pretense sickens me." Liu Rong stated with spite, and the students shushed at her words. On cue, they all looked over their shoulders at Jiang Meiying.
"Why? You think I'm pretending? For what?"
Liu Rong avoided the warning gaze from the two boys and Jiang Ming and went ahead to say.
"You exuded so much confidence In the cafeteria today about the Math's test coming up. You had your nose buried In your book like you were sure the answers were just going to appear when writing the test If you pretend to study hard."
Jiang Meiying just raised an eyebrow.
"Are you saying I won't pass this test?"
"Just like the others, you'll fail." Liu Fang said this time, very smug and sure of herself.
"Then let's make a bet." Jiang Meiying offered, and Liu Rong didn't hesitate to agree.
"Why not? What are your demands? Quickly, just say it. Say anything!"
"Heh." Jiang Meiying chuckled coldly as everyone stared at her. "If I pass this test, you'll become my disciples for the rest of the school year and pay me to teach you!"
Everyone gasped, but Liu Rong didn't budge.
Did this pathetic, fat pig really think she'd ever stoop so low be her disciple?
However, the girl exuded so much carefree confidence that she went along with her part of the deal.
"Fine. But if you loose, Jiang Meiying, you'll drop out of school and forget about the college entrance examination." Jiang Ming suddenly said and Liu Rong froze; just as everyone did.
Drop out?
Wasn't that too much?
After all, it was obvious who was going to win the bet.
The twins didn't say anything to embarrass their friend and went along with the bet, their jaws almost dropping to the floor when Jiang Meiying unhesitatingly agreed.
Soon, Mr. Shui entered the classroom, and after much pleasantries were exchanged, everyone sat down and per his orders began pulling out a sheet of paper for the test while placing their note books and textbooks in their bags. The class president got the test sheet from Mr. Shui's desk, and along with her assistant, they began distributing the paper around.
Some students almost jumped up from their seats In excitement on seeing the questions which looked very familiar to them because they had studied for it, while the others who had only played games and behaved nonchalantly about the test felt their world crashing down at the sight of the strange questions.
"Teacher Shui. Some of these questions... we've not learnt them!" A girl pitifully yelled. She was obviously one of the others who hadn't read.
Mr. Shui glared at her scornfully.
"Sit down Miss Yun! I picked some questions from the last college entrance examination. If you had been reading in expanse like I asked you all too, you wouldn't be complaining!"
The girl lowered her body on her chair, her eyes spamming with tears.
No one wanted to fail this test. It was very important because the score would be added to their entrance examination.
All these while, Mr. Shui had his eyes on Jiang Meiying. After what Miss Lee and Mr. Tan had said in the staff room, the girl had piqued his interest for the first time and he anticipated the end of the test.
When everyone had brought out their writing materials, he checked his time piece before announcing in a loud voice.
"Now the rules of the test are simple. There are 100 questions with 10 out of hundred being theory and the other, multiple choice. Our lesson period Is one hour and thirty minutes so you have thirty minutes to write the test, and I'll use the rest of the period to assess your work and grade you all. This is the last test we're having in mathematics, and it's important because it will be added to your accumulative for the semester."
Just as he finished, he sat back down and waved his hands at them.
"You may begin."
His gaze was on Jiang Meiying the entire time.
As usual, she'd stare at the ceiling for half of the test time before clumsily writing over her test sheet but this time, at the sound of his voice motioning them to write, she began scribbling over her paper like she'd been anticipating the moment.
After a while, he got up and began walking round the class. He was sure Jiang Meiying was using something like a notebook or a cheat note. That girl hadn't looked up once from her paper!
It was simply unbelievable.
Liu Rong was at the back and smirked as the teacher got up. She too had the same thought as him. How was it possible that the same girl who was used to staring at the ceiling during tests was scribbling in her book and punching away at her calculator like an Android.
To his surprise and dismay, she was sitting there with only her pencil, calculator and work sheet.
He went ahead to walk around the entire class. Li Fu and Hai Bo who were notorious for using cheat sheets were seriously marking their answers without causing a tantrum in the class like they used to during tests.
Was he dreaming?!
Was the end of the world coming this quickly?
