Jiang Tao's eyes widened once he entered the lavishly furnished office in time to see Zhang Wei landing a fist on his table, toppling important files and documents to the ground.
As if that wasn't enough, he flipped the entire table and it landed with a thud on the ground, not sparing the swivel chairs before it, crushing it just as it littered several more documents around.
Two men, supposedly his P.A and secretary stood at one corner of the office trembling like cold water had been splashed on them.
"Son-in-law, what is going on here?!"
Zhang Wei stiffened at the sight of Jiang Tao standing at the door with his mouth wide open.
He panicked.
This was someone he was about to collaborate business with and would soon marry his daughter. He never intended to ever make a bad impression in front of his future in-laws, considering Jiang Ming was yet to turn 18; old enough for marriage.
"Ahh...f...father-in-law... " A cold sweat ran down his back as he stepped over the mess he had made to welcome the shocked man in. "You didn't tell me you'd be coming this early?"
"What happened here?" Jiang Tao asked again, curious.
Zhang Wei resisted the urge to sigh and calmly held the bridge of his nose.
"It's...nothing father-in-law... I... just discovered that one of my students had stolen from us."
The look of shock and curiosity in his eyes was quickly replaced with one exuding worry as he held onto the young man's shoulder.
"How could this have happened?! Did she... he hack into your business account or something. This doesn't make sense then..."
A vein was slowly turning visible at the side of his forehead.
He turned to the two 'Idiots' standing at a corner, looking like two drenched puppies.
"Have a room prepared for us and some snacks for our guest!" He coldly ordered and after a quick nod, the two literally bolted out the office like they were escaping from war drones.
"It's good to see you... please have a seat. Let's talk."
He grabbed the only untouched chair in the office and willingly let the old man lower himself on it while thinking of other ways to convince him on his lie.
"You looked very angry when I had walked in? Had he... she stolen something really important?"
"The person hacked into the school's account and took some money. We don't know who he/she is but I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of the matter." He tried to reassure him.
The man sighed.
In a bid to change the topic, he hurriedly said,
"I've been quite busy with work but rest assured I'll be coming this evening to have dinner with the family."
"Ah. Yes!!! I've got some work in the office to clear up and I was just about inviting you to dinner myself. We could talk more on the business collaboration tonight!"
The secretary politely walked in and informed them that the office was ready along with some sumptuous snacks but Jiang Tao declined the offer.
With a forced smile, Zhang Wei led him out the office and saw him off to the entrance of the school.
"I'm sorry for your loss but I'm hoping the criminal won't go scot free!"
"I won't let that happen, father-in-law."
The man waved as he got into his limousine, the door left open by one of his guards.
"See you at dinner then!"
Alex politely returned the wave with a smile but once the limousine was out of sight, the smile was quickly replaced with a horrifying deep smouldering frown.
Once he arrived at the new office set up for him, his P.A and secretary were already present, clutching their ipads like their lives depended on it.
Boss was very violent and cruel when he got angry; unlike their last boss who happened to be Mr. Zhang Wang, Zhang Wei's late father.
He was a good man, fair in judgement and soft-spoken. It was still a mystery how he came about someone as cruel and devious as Zhang Wei.
"How many students do we have left?" He calmly asked, teeth grinding in seething anger.
The P.A clumpsily held her laptop to her face and punched in a few things, fingers trembling.
"511,568 B... Boss." Even the number surprised her. It was much lower than she thought!
Zhang Wei had gotten his talent of acting from no other person than Zhang Wang, and he had come to this same school for talented artist, models and singers before he got a role in a Hollywood movie and had to fly abroad.
It was his father's idea so Zhang Wang was the proprietor and founder of Gold Star entertainment college. It was ranking No. 11 in the entire world last decade ago when he was still in full ownership of the school.
The school produced promising actors, singers, authors and subsequential celebrities who had made it big in several entertainment industries.
Zhang Wang filed in 400,000 students into the establishment every year, and the money flowing into the business was so much that he was one of the most wealthiest man nationally.
No one would say they didn't know him.
He had a net worth of 333 million dollars from the business, and things were going very smoothly. He communed with his workers very friendly and familiarly since he took his time to know them all and threw parties at every successful step they made towards any achievement. He was someone relatable when it came to the students and almost everyone wanted to work for him or enroll in his school.
Unfortunately, the man died of a terrible incurable disease. His lawyers had his will and didn't hesitate to read out all that Late Zhang Wang had written, sharing his properties amongst his sons and wife, Zhang Huan.
When Zhang Wei returned from Hollywood, he found out that Gold Star entertainment had been put under his name. He was going to be the next CEO/Chancellor of such a huge establishment!
Everyone expected him to be as dedicated and auspicious as his late father but noooooooo.....
Do you know what Zhang Wei did??
He ruined the entire establishment in just a few months!
