" Aigh.... Phurfeet " Gavin mutters with difficulty due to the swelling of his cheeks. I couldn't understand him at all. I couldn't even read his expression, as it was impossible to even see a face in the middle of all that bruising. It was possible to understand what he was trying to say through his body language, as his arms fell down not struggling any longer. However, that was not possible due to the contract terms, and also the anger that blazed inside of me.
" Mon! Stop right here this instant. Do you think you could just break the agreement that easily? " Ms. Loi shouts as she looks at us in worry and confusion.
I probably wasn't the person she was expecting to say that to, and for it to be a one-sided victory was quite shocking, I suppose. I guess that ranking really was useless, it's only for feeding and destroying the other's ego, which was probably utilized by Ms. Loi to teach these arrogant people a lesson, to help them work harder and better.
I ignored her words as I only continued to pounce on the beaten-up Gavin, as his hands failed to move, just like his body.
" This is your last warning, student." She screams as pressure envelopes my entire body.
...
I guess this was how far I could get. I couldn't even feel my arms anymore, as I try to go for another punch before getting stopped completely by Ms. Loi.
" You've made the wrong choice, student Mon... " Ms. Loi said, looking incredibly angry yet worried as she walked towards the lying Gavin behind me.
"Don't worry, Ms. Loi; he's still awake." I'm sure that's what he specifically wrote in the contract." I say weakly because my Ki reserves are completely depleted.
" I'm going to have to excuse myself for today, Ms. Loi. I'll head to the hospital to get my hands fixed. I would prefer it if this stayed between us. " Ms. Loi still had quite a troubled expression on her face, wondering how things managed to turn the way they did.
' Wasn't he raised to S class just because he managed to make a Shrieker slip? Was he really just lucky? ... '
I started to walk off the arena with my arms still broken from all the punching. I head towards the door, as that should be the exit of the bubble. I was tired, but it wasn't enough to make me unable to move straight. I mean, as I passed through the reflective wall of the gym, I looked quite scary, no? My clothes were bloodied as well as my fist. I fully looked like I had just murdered someone.
As I walked towards the exit, I noticed Winter's troubled and confused gaze as she looked at me and the beaten Gavin.
" Oh yeah, you can take the first place." I say as she seemed really concerned about something.
" A dual... " She whispers something, but I didn't manage to get it, so I just looked at her with a confused face before leaving the room completely.
It was relatively quiet as even though there were many others in the gym, they were all still in their bubbles, so I was able to escape the class safely and quietly.
I walked all the way to the hospital and got treated successfully. My arms were bandaged and healed, so it would probably only take about a few hours to fix my hands. I just slept for the day and rested, fully knowing this wasn't even going to be one of the worst days I'd have in this world. I mean, the news will be released soon, so a day quite possibly worse than this is just at hand.
I was still somehow relaxed for now, as I knew Kon wouldn't have any way of knowing what had happened here, as Ms. Loi respects her students' opinions as long as you do the same. I asked for this duel to be a secret, so I know that would be fine. Gavin wouldn't leak this fight either, as he doesn't really have anyone to talk to anyway, besides, he was too arrogant to spread rumors about his shameful defeat to the campus' famous "defect ". Winter, however... I'm not sure about her, but I know Kon wouldn't get any information from her considering her personality.
Regardless, Winter wouldn't really spread this duel unless someone close to her asked, so I should be fine. With that, I succumb to my sleep and lie on the hospital bed, waiting for my energy to restore fully
...
" It seems like you're the only one left for me to teach." Ms. Loi was still in the space pouch as medics brought Gavin through on a stretcher.
' That's not what's important right now... I can't believe there's someone else like me... ' Winter thought as she remembered the fight between Gavin and Mon that happened so quickly. She looks at her arms as wind and ice start to form on them.
She was born as a dual ability user, someone so rare that there are more strongholds than dual ability users. She was raised to be different from normal people. She was sometimes treated as a freak by other children, which was the main reason for her fierce personality. This was the first time she saw someone who had two abilities, someone just like her.
' I want to fight him... '
" Alright, let's start with the official class." Ms. Loi says as Gavin gets taken out of the bubble and heads straight toward the hospital.

It's already night at this point, and I felt better already, so I went back to my dorms. The breathing technique I mentioned earlier should arrive soon. I could also feel that I'm on the brink of ascending to a higher tier, so the moment I confirm if this technique is absolutely busted, I'm reaching for that ascension.
Then I'd be able to start snowballing until I reached the level of the main character and handle the trip that would endanger and take many students' lives as well as the sanity of the humans as they discovered the presence of demons and their plans to exterminate humans.
