The afternoon theoretical classes ended pretty quickly. There were no other mishaps that happened. They explained the nature of KI and Mana, which would probably be helpful, but I was too fried from all the things that happened before that I couldn't really focus at all.
Kon started being aggressive even though he was pretty neutral at the start. This should mean that whatever his goal is, staying low was not the main priority. He was still hiding it as we are still alive right now, so at least that's that. I'm afraid that if the higher-ups ordered him to kill us, we would've died before help arrived. He did threaten us in the middle of a crowd, and he also embarrassed me in front of a few people, but that isn't enough to get the attention of the others. The teachers in here are psychos that will use violence to force students to grow into strong figures. Considering the state of our world and how we are only managing through violence is already a good enough reason for people to understand this treatment.
Anyway, the Jernea trip was pushed a little earlier than the story, but that's the effect of leaking the existence of demons. I expected them to push this event as quickly as possible before their danger class or the attention and caution of humans increased. The purpose of this massacre was obviously to raise fear and panic inside human civilization by killing the Tree students responsible for the safety of their future.
They'll also leak the fact that they could hide as humans, which would prevent the hidden spies on Terra and different strongholds, but it will increase panic and it will start to increase the anxiety and distrust of the citizens.
Regardless, the main force of that attack should be somehow less than the original, as they have less time to prepare. But that also means Sol and the others that are responsible for stopping Kon and the others will also be weaker.
So what I'm getting here is Kon's new job would probably be to prevent the increase in strength of the main characters while pushing the Jernea trip as soon as possible.
" Mr. Mon? " I arrived at the gates of the dorms, and the receptionist I keep seeing these days shouted out my name.
"Yeah?"
" You are eligible to use the Wyvern Dorms. Would you like to switch? "
Wyvern dorms? That's the middle dorm, the one used by the 2* students, if I remember correctly. Well, it was better than the Tiger Dorm, the one I'm using, but I didn't really need to change right now.
"Uhh, no, I'm fine. Thanks though " I didn't really need to upgrade to Wyvern, as I was already an S-class student. I pretty much have access to facilities better than those of the Wyvern dorm. Regardless, I don't find any use for the wyvern dorms. If I'm going to switch, it's going to have to be the Leviathan class, the one used by the others.
Anyway, I just got an mail today, and it contains the payment for the rabbits that I auctioned yesterday. It sold faster than I had thought. It seems like they've made it a priority, as I could see it being advertised on the page of the auction house.
Well, I guess a necessity will rise in price when its demand can't be met.
[ Payment received. Total amount: Three Hundred Thousand ]
It's the amount that I expected. It's quite a sight if you really think about it. Three hundred thousand just from hunting rabbits? The total price rose by more than ten times its value. I would've been drooling from all that money if it weren't for those pesky Toons. This amount of money is not worth the life that was at stake during that Lair expedition.
Well, I got the money now, but I still can't contact Yelan. I've messaged her business mail, but I haven't received a response yet. Was it because I used my student mail? I mean, who would meet with a 17-year-old student for business? Maybe if my name was famous, but for all she knows, I might just be a D-Class first-year doing a prank or something.
Even if I had cash, I could only wait for now, as I don't have any other leads on her.
The only thing I can do as of now is to increase my strength to prepare for the Jernea trip that will happen soon.
...
" Yo Mon, you got a parcel sent to you at the front. I'm not sure if you're expecting something, but the others do seem quite troubled by it." A young student with an average face and the usual black hair stood on the opposite side of the hall, directly opposite to my room.
This is a friend I made during my stay in these dorms. I befriended him before school started in the first place, so it was relatively easy to talk to him. Besides, he didn't care about the S-class thing, as he seemed quite uninterested in reaching that rank in the first place. He seemed more proud and happy to have an S-class friend, which is something I greatly appreciate after working in the entertainment scene for years.
" Oh yeah, it's probably something... I'm expecting Anyways, thanks Ze. " Well, there seems to be something in the mail, but I've already got everything I ordered If I remember correctly, It could be something like a written message, which is incredibly unlikely. I mean, what era is this? In the eighteenth century? It could also be an item that was sent to me as a gift, which was pretty likely considering how I'm already pretty famous, but the school doesn't allow that, so I have no clue as of now.
So, let's see what happens.
...
"Hello, good evening, sir. I've received your complaints about my article, and I would love to speak to you about it regarding its contents. I would like to apologize if I was mistaken. I'm sorry for the late response, as I do not own a Holic as of now. Thanks for your understanding. - MN "
Well, that was interesting.
I guess it was the eighteenth century.
Is this Yelan? If so, she seems to misunderstand the message I sent her. She took it almost as if it was a complaint. Was it just an assumption on her end? Or were her powers that advanced already this early on that she could recall the conversations I had with Sol? If that's the case, I'm going to have to get her on my side as soon as I can.
This will be quite a struggle though, as sending messages to her would be quite a hassle if this is how we exchange messages. She doesn't own a Holic, and she sends me printed mail, so that's quite pitiful...
Well, Yelan didn't appear at the start of the story. So I'm not sure how her financial stability stood, but just through this mail, it seems to be quite on the lower part. It's quite difficult to reach her, but it seems like ruling her in was easier than I thought it would be.
