Human-like Intelligence. Two Students Discover a New Type of Energy Rank 1st Tree Student Slays Creature.
As I lay on my bed and browsed the internet, new articles soaring through almost every social media's front page were getting attention from every nook and cranny of the world.
[ New Creatures capable of human speech and high intelligence were recently discovered in a Lair ]
- It was found to be of humanoid stature with the capability of mimicking a monster's body parts through the use of new energy called Demonic Energy due to its sinister and heavy nature, similar to that of killing intent. They were also dubbed Demons because of this particular sinister energy. Demons are capable of combat and possibly everything we humans could do. There are also reports, according to the students, that there seemed to be a hierarchy and a working society among these individuals, raising them to the status of a Royal Class Danger due to their extreme unpredictability and human-like intelligence. They are capable of blackmailing the 5* hunter Kinmed, leading the unsuspecting students inside the dangerous Lair.
" We would like to warn all the hunters to be aware of these creatures and focus on their safety before any other forms of success and wealth. " The government even released this statement for our fellow hunters out there.
Nice... with this, it should somehow slow down the progress and the plans of the demons and ultimately aid in the safe yet quick growth of all the main characters. They've also seemed to have treated this incident with high caution, as the demons were initially put into Grand tier, but now they've put them in the highest class possible.
Now that I look at it, it seems like they also didn't put out the fact that they could mask themselves as humans, which was ultimately for the best, as there was already enough pressure and worry for the citizens to consume. The fact that the ones they trusted could be demons was not something the higher-ups could control. They probably plan on searching for hidden demons within the people by themselves, hidden from the sight of everyone. I don't know how they would honestly handle this information as there could literally be hidden spies in the government. As far as the story goes, there should be none, but they don't know that. Besides, the story personally mentioned that demons can't control the release of demonic energy from their bodies, so it's pretty easy to find them. That's why Kon was given a special device made by the demons so that he could hide his presence. It was an extremely expensive item, and there should only be one available for their use.
The reason why I couldn't figure out Toons, however, was because I didn't really know what demonic energy was supposed to feel like. There are tons of abilities in this world, and I thought that was also one. The government was able to retrieve Toons' body, and they received information from me. With their increased caution and active hunting for them, it should be pretty easy to find hidden demons.
Now, let's see how I was portrayed in this article...
[ Hero, Sol Cense! Tree students defeat the Royal Class creature ]
- According to a trusted source, first-ranked freshman Sol Cense, was successful in claiming the life of the first Demon ever discovered. After a hard-fought victory, he escaped with the corpse of the demon as well as his fellow student and the alleged blackmailed hunter. This was not the only achievement under Sol's name, as he holds the highest rank a freshman could have before starting in Tree, and many other numerous records under his belt. This might not be his first achievement, but it surely is his biggest one yet. His presence surely relaxes us all, in the midst of the appearance of another intelligent race.
There are a few broadcasts and articles, and they all seemed to be successful. I wasn't mentioned as being a big contributor to the event, and I was seen as a victim saved by the Hero Sol. My picture was quite perfect as well. I was asleep, as I rested on Sol's shoulder. I looked like I had just gotten beaten up big time, and Sol saved me.
The praises were all directed at Sol, and I was just a sad victim who unknowingly got caught in the crossfire. Kon's anger wouldn't be directed at me now. I might still get some annoyance here and there, but the extra character wouldn't get much attention. This was perfect for my growth.
I would probably get more notoriety, but I was already notorious, so having a little more wouldn't hurt much. " The Useless S-Class " or something... I mean, should I just leave these guys to their death by Kon? I mean, I'm not showing my full ability to handle that situation, but it might be better for my mental health if I didn't.
Regardless, many hate messages have already tempered my mental strength from all that fame in the real world, so It's pretty doable.
There are thousands of articles and news stories covering our story. It focuses on bringing up the dangers of demons, the new energy found, and also Sol's story to bring up their hope for the future. Every article always points out Sol, except one...
[ Moonlight Networking ]
The design of the page was quite miserable. It looked like a 5 year old, just went crazy on the colors and stickers. There was no color scheme at all, and the contents were hard to read, due to the intense contrast of pretty much everything.
It had the same content as the others in terms of the Demons and their energy, but there were some changes to the story about Sol and his success in hunting Toons.
Sol's fellow classmate and S class student, Mon Weise, figured out Kinmed's association with his fellow hunter and best friend James' death. It was found out that Mon had collected evidence and information from small slip-ups and minuscule evidence scattered throughout the scene. From used speakers and sloppy conversations, he had discovered the truth behind the scene...
Moonlight Networking. It seems like they were still a damn beast in terms of collecting information.
I should've expected it. They might be a small firm for now, but their future was definitely the opposite. This was the company I was planning on investing in after all. This networking firm was famous in the middle and latter parts of the story due to how accurate and influential they were for humans. They were able to report on scenes and situations perfectly, as if they could read minds. Well, they couldn't, but their CEO, Yelan, had a specific ability to recreate blurry or vivid scenes depending on her initial information and as long as she was in the perfect place. It's an incredibly strong ability that holds immense power in this age where information and media rule over the world. And if you add her insane work ethic, as she almost goes to every person present in the scene to interview them, you get an ability that shows vivid scenes almost a hundred percent of the time. I mean, that's why this firm will get as big as it will be.
Tsk... this will be quite a problem. It's not getting that many views anyway, just about 10 to 100, and it's a company run by herself and herself only, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem as of now.
Anyways, isn't this the perfect time to invest? I could get something that's worth more than money if I invest as soon as possible.
The moment the items sell at the auction, I'll invest in her company. Considering the state of her company as of now, giving this much money might even help me get that co-owner seat.
Having the ability to control the media was something I would definitely enjoy...
