Arien couldn't fall asleep for quite a long time. He couldn't stop thinking about what happened a while ago. He kept recalling every moment and savored the feeling of satisfaction. His Alpha wanted to do so much more to Opal, that he had to restrain himself from going back to her room.
In the morning Arien prepared a light breakfast and waited for Opal to come down. It was getting late and she didn't go out. Arien felt anxious, what if … No, it can't happen again. In a moment he was upstairs standing at her door, pale from sudden fear that overcame him.
"Opal. Are you OK? Can I come in? We need to talk." Please answer, please …
The door opened and Opal stood in her hotel uniform with neat hairdo and little make up in front of him. She was looking down at her shoes and her hands were fidgeting nervously.
"Uncle, I would like to apologize for yesterday – her voice was shaky – I …. my heat came earlier. I… - It was hard for her to compose a full sentence, her face was red. She was ashamed.
For a moment Arien felt anger. For him it was such a wonderful night and she felt just shame. But then he scolded himself. She is young and feels guilty and awkward. It's up to him to make her feel good again.
"Opal, look at me." – he lifted her head up and looked straight into those black eyes. - "There is nothing you need to apologize for. I think it's my fault. I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable because of me." - Her eyes widened at his words – "It were my pheromones that indicated your heat. It was only natural for me to help you since you needed my help. There's nothing more to it, Opal. Do not feel bad about this. You and I are alike, we only got each other. You can rely on me in any situation. I won't judge you and I will always help and support you. I'm an Alpha. I have my ruts too, so I know how it is."
Opal eyes were watery when Arien spread his arms for her to give him a hug.
"That's my Opal. Now, over with this talk. I have prepared a delicious breakfast for you. We need to get ready for work, don't we?"
They didn't talk about it again and Opal felt kind of relieved. Her uncle was talking all the way to work about the hotel and the casino, explaining to her how it functions. She was grateful that he behaved so naturally and never again mentioned the other night.
Melody has already been at work when they arrived.
Arien placed a light peck on Opal's forehead and left for his office.
Melody was watching the whole scene while serving a customer. Opal came to the reception desk, it was way past nine. She was late. If she had been a regular worker that behavior on her first day would probably lead to her being fired.
"Here's your card sir room 203 is on the second floor. We wish you an enjoyable stay." Melody smiled and her dimples became more prominent. The hotel guest smiled, said thank you and left.
"So, your first day." Melody looked at Opal who lifted her head and looked around before answering.
"It is, I'm really excited and ready to learn." Opal decided not to explain herself why she was late, after all the boss already knew and Melody well she was nice but … Opal needed time to make her mind about Melody.
"Good, let's begin with the booking program. I will explain to you how to enter the information and about the payment arrangements."
Opal nodded and the Beta woman started to show her the program.
Next client came, it was a young woman.
"Good morning madam, how can I help you?"
"Hello, I have a reservation. My name is Silia Marinez."
"Just a moment please, …"
Opal was watching Melody finding in the database all the information, asking the guest for her ID card and filling the missing remaining fields. Melody was quick and soon Opal handed Miss Martinez the card to room 421. Just as the young woman left a group of three men entered the hotel lobby. Two of them were wearing black suits and looked like bodyguards and the third one with short blond hair and pale blue eyes was wearing a gray suit and stood out due to his physique. He must be an Alpha seeing his well defined shoulders and proud look.
"Oh, no…" - Melody whispered.
"What is it?" Opal asked curiously.
"It's Jonathan Harper. He's an ass. You will see." - she answered quietly, looking at the man approaching their desk.
"Well Melody, inform your boss about my arrival." - He had a strong voice and from close up one could notice a tiny scar next to his lip.
"Sure thing Mr. Harper." - Melody picked up the phone and dialed Arien's office.
Jonathan Harper noticed Opal looking at him.
"New face?"
"Yes sir, it's my first day at work." - Opal presented him her fake polite smile.
The Alpha watched her attentively for a moment.
"White hair and I smell Arien's pheromones on you. Are you his Omega?" His eyes were piercing through her and the dominant tone of his voice made her for a moment feel inferior.
"Well sir, we do not know each other to ask me such personal things, do we? I advise you to stay professional and mind your own business." The polite fake smile appeared on her face again.
Melody almost choked from suppressed laughter.
"An Omega without any manners." – he smirked – "I could have taught you some."
"I doubt sir, it is hard to teach something one knows nothing about." He pissed Opal, it was like back then in Grayshill. He pushed all the wrong buttons and now Opal was in her attack mode.
Melody was gaping not knowing what to do or say. And then Mr. Harper laughed.
"You are a feisty one, I like that. Taming such an Omega is fun. I understand Arien's interest now." He leaned toward Opal and she could smell his heavy musky pheromones. She didn't like it. She was about to say something really hateful when Arien appeared.
"Johnatan, nice to see you. Let's go to my office."
"Of course, see you later ladies." He turned round and sent Opal a strange look.
