Opal placed the vase with the white roses on the desk, it looked pretty elegant. In the lunch break Arien appeared.
"Opal, let's eat together." That was less of a suggestion more like a firm decision.
"OK boss." Opal smiled putting her jacket on.
"Nice flowers." Arien remarked pointing at the bouquet.
"Yes, I got them this morning. They are not from you aren't they?" She looked little blushed.
"No. They are not."
His look was stern, making Opal feel uncomfortable almost guilty at receiving such gift.
"So in a such short amount of time, you got yourself a secret admirer. Impressive." His looks however were everything but impressed. He rather seemed to be pissed.
Arien took her to a nice french restaurant and after eating a soup and a salad they got back. The bouquet was gone.
"I had it removed, it blocked the view." Was Arien's response to Opals surprised look. He than went straight to his office not waiting for any comments Opal had upon his willfulness action.
Melody was smiling and throwing glances at Opal from time to time. After a short time she couldn't hold it back anymore.
"He behaves like a father jealous of his daughter. Its actually quite funny." She admitted giggling.
Melody wasn't giggling anymore when the next morning a new bouquet appeared. She was standing agape watching Opal receiving flowers again. There was a card, again with only one word.
Daring …
It was strange. Opal has never got so much attention. She was dating Bran very shortly and well she even didn't have a single date with Jayden. Both her "relationships" ended in disaster. So much for her experience. And now this. Yes, she had to admit she felt special, good and ... desired. It made her kind of happy. She couldn't stop thinking who could it be. They had a few customers here who were nice and complimented them both. Some paid Opal more attention. She kept wondering. They even mad jokes and bets among themselves with Melody. The other workers commented that too. Only Arien was displeased. He didn't throw these flowers away only because Opal placed them at a small table in the corner.
When the third on the row bouquet appeared Opal didn't even managed to find the card and Arien was already there. He must have seen it through the surveillance cameras placed in the hall. He was quick at picking the card. He opened it, his face became pale and than flushed with deep red color.
"You really don't know who are the flowers from?" He reassured.
"Yes, may I see my card?" Opal reached her hand waiting to get back what was hers. Arien returned it and left visibly disturbed. On the card was one word again.
Mine …
"Well this is heavy." Melody crossed her arms. She was a Beta mated to a recessive Alpha male. "Honey, you must be careful. Some Alphas when they see what they like, they assume it's theirs. No matter thing or a person."
That single word was alarming and Opal knew she shouldn't take it lightly. The feeling of discomfort didn't let her go till the next day. She couldn't focus on her job waiting for the courier. But he didn't appear.
"I guess it's over. Whoever it was he stopped." Opal said to Melody.
"I don't think so, I bet Arien made a little research." Melody half smiled to her while typing some info in the data base.
Arien picked her up earlier today. Informing her hat they have an urgent matter to attend. Opal followed him. They stopped in front of a clothes shop.
"You know that next week we have a party at the casino. I want to introduce you officially to everyone. So today we will pick a dress for you." Arien smiled and went out of the car to open the door for her.
The shop was really something, just from looking at all those pretty dresses Opal could imagine how expensive they were.
"Mr. Sullivan we have a room ready for you and your company." An elegant shop assistant greeted them at the entrance and they followed her. Opal has never done shopping like that. They were in a private room with a screen, couch small table and big mirror on the wall. The woman has brought three white dresses and Opal tried them one by one presenting to her uncle. All the dresses were very elegant but they just didn't sit with Opal. After that incident with her short dress that Arien has criticized so much she didn't feel confident enough to oppose him.
"You like non of them." Arien stated.
"They are very nice uncle." Opal didn't want to make her uncle unhappy. "You can choose one."
"Thank you for your trust, but I want you to enjoy yourself and your outfit." Arien rubbed the bridge of his nose and took a sip of coffee he was served.
"Mrs Blair, find something suitable for my niece." he said towards the shop assistant.
"Of course Mr. Sullivan, I understand that it should be in white." She assured herself.
"Yes."
In a moment the young woman was back with two more models. Opal picked an evening sleeveless dress with heart shaped decolletage. It was long and had a split showing a bit of her knee and even tight as she walked. Opl wore it and it matched perfect. This dress was lovely, it highlighted her curves in all the right places. The shop assistant smiled.
"Madam, it's perfect."
Opal smiled and stepped out from behind the screen.
Arien was waiting patiently for Opal to finish dressing up. He enjoyed this moment, how she was presenting herself to him waiting for his approval. His Alpha was satisfied. When she stepped out in that long dress she looked sexy as fuck. Arien held his breath for a moment.
"I like this one uncle." He could see how much she loved this outfit.
Arien regained his composure.
"You do look beautiful in this dress, but it is very sexy. I'm afraid some crazy Alpha will make inappropriate advances to you again."
"Than you will take care of him, just like with the last one who was sending me those bouquets." Opal smiled slyly.
