Arien left. He promised to come back in a week. He said he was going to prepare everything for her arrival. She had two weeks to get ready to leave this shithole. Her uncle was so good that he even left her his credit card so she could do some shopping, like new clothes and stuff as he said. Opal never went shopping for fun. She always bought only necessary things and usually in second hand shops. Today she was going to spend some of her uncle's money. Arien told her that there is no limit to how much she could spend so she decided to go crazy. She needed a comforter after this strange week. During a short period of time she found and lost her Mate as well as gained a family. Apparently one cannot have it all.
Opal was walking to the city with a wide grin. Inhaling the fresh scent of growing grass and wet earth heated by early spring sun. She was jumping over the puddles and thinking about her shopping. Her uncle told her to buy a suitcase for the trip too. Soon she will leave this place and her hut. She will miss her hut a bit, because of the grandma she had so many good memories connected with her. But that's all. She will definitely not miss the city nor any person living here.
It was Saturday and there were quite a few people on the street as well as some cars passing by. Opal stood in front of the shop which displayed what she always admired on her way to school. The door opened smoothly and Opal was greeted by a nice comforting smell. The shop assistant smiled nicely.
"How can I help you?" She asked politely.
"I want to look first." Opal started looking around. After a while she picked a few nice blouses, T-shirts, two pairs of jeans and even some dresses. She went into a fitting room. It felt so good to try on those pretty clothes. It was a pity that uncle wasn't here, he could advise her. Opal couldn't make up her mind so she took it all along with a jacket and two pairs of shoes. As she was waiting for the shop assistant to pack everything and tell her the final price, anxiety caught her heart. What if it is a vast amount of money and Arien will think she is too greedy? The woman stated the price and Opal gulped. She handed the shop assistant her uncle' card. A single beep later all was settled. Opal loaded with shopping bags was heading towards the door. As she was about to leave a group of people entered, among them Julie. With a surprised look at Opal's appearance in this place.
"Got lost? Second hand shop is on the other side of the street." - Julie pointed in that direction.
"Aren't you tired of yourself? Let me through, I have some more interesting things to do." Having said that, she pushed her way out of the shop. She wanted to buy some more cosmetics and then go back home. Equipped with everything she couldn't afford so far Opal was on her way when she saw Bran.
"Hi Opal." - He smiled from across the street. "You sure did a lot of shopping today."
Opal was loaded with bags and after his remark a feeling of guilt hit her, again.
"You think so? You think I bought too much?" She suddenly looked worried.
"Too late for regrets. Enjoy it. Want me to give you a lift? It looks heavy." He offered.
"Yes, thank you." It was a nice gesture and Opal decided to take advantage of it. Bran was talking about the warriors training. He was in charge of it and felt excited. His mouth didn't shut up for a single moment and Opal found it a nice distraction, she even laughed. When they arrived Opal unbuckled the seat belt and collected all her bags.
"Thank you Bran, You really helped me." She smiled and Bran got quiet.
"Sure Opal, for you I would do anything." He said with a changed expression.
"Yeah, I know. Almost anything." She stressed the second sentence and closed the door. Though it didn't work out between her and Bran she was happy to be able to talk with him without embarrassment.
Opal was revising like crazy the whole Sunday, not that she had anything else to do, but somehow she wanted her last exam to come out as good as possible. On Monday history exam started at nine sharp. The test wasn't difficult and Opal was full of hope to get a positive outcome. She hasn't seen Jayden and to be honest, she was back to her usual habit of staying inside a classroom even during breaks. After school she went straight to the pack's house. She had the money for the rent. It was going to be the last time she would have to pay it. Opal felt so excited that she wasn't paying any attention to her surroundings. She stepped right into Alpha Mark. Fuck. He always gives her the disgusted look whenever he sees her.
"I'm sorry sir." She stepped back. "I'm here because of the rent and to inform you that I will move out by the end of this week." The last information made the Alpha look back at her.
"You are moving out? Where to?" He was looking at her as if he saw Opal for the first time in his life.
"Far away sir." Opal said boldly looking into his eyes. This fucker was responsible for all her misery. She hated him.
"Don't be rude and don't provoke me." His voice was cold like a steal.
"Or else?" she asked innocently. Something inside made her challenge that fucking Alpha and she followed that stupid urge without thinking.
His expression was frozen.
"Suddenly becoming so courageous?!" He grabbed her hair and pulled her face closer.
"I have never been a coward." Alpha Mark's face was a few inches away. She could smell his strong pheromones, he was trying to suppress her. Opal felt her cheeks blush and before she knew, her pheromones were mixing with his. She parted her lips to grasp for air. Alpha Mark's eyes darkened and focused on her lips.
"Alpha, we have a meeting, everybody is waiting for you." Someone's voice broke this awkward situation and Mark let her go. Opal nearly fell on her knees but managed to stand with all her will power.
"You are a dominant Omega." Alpha Mark noticed.
