Bran let her go and instantly the uncle's arm landed on Opal's shoulders and he led her back to the car.
"Opal, where are you going?" He shouted behind her.
Before Opal could open her mouth her uncle retorted.
"To my place." - Then there was a smirk on his face that made Bran feel uneasy.
"That wasn't your Alpha, the pheromones smelled different. Who was he?"
"Just an Alpha I know. Opal somehow couldn't call Bran a friend. They kissed and met twice. That doesn't make anyone a friend.
"I see, my niece is a beautiful woman who attracts many Alphas." Arien hummed, closing the car's door behind her. Sitting down and starting the engine he asked.
"Where to madam?"
Opal smiled.
"Sir, please take me to school."
"As you wish." - Arien's lips curved a little; he seemed to be very happy.
The school building looked as uninviting as always. Opal went inside along with Arien who decided to accompany her to avoid any further disturbances. All the eyes of passers -by were on them; they looked kind of brother and sister-like. With those white hair they draw attention to themselves. Opal felt good for the first time entering this school; she wanted everyone to notice her and her handsome uncle. Mr Ward had kept his promise and all the documents confirming her graduation from this school have been prepared and waiting for her. The secretary was very polite and couldn't stop gazing at Arien who smiled at her, making the poor woman blush. On her way to the parking place Opal came across Julie and some other girls whose names she even didn't know or bothered to remember.
"Opal, nice to see you. I thought you won't show up after what happened at the pack's house." She smiled innocently and then she noticed her companion. Her eyes were automatically drowned to the new dominant Alpha.
"Well Julie I'm here to pick up my documents as I'm leaving with my uncle. I can't say I will miss you so goodbye and I do hope that I will never see your annoying face again." Opal smiled and walked past Julie.
Arien chuckled.
"I guess she wasn't your best friend."
"To be honest uncle I don't have any friends here. However she was the biggest pain in the ass, like most of the time." Opal shrugged her shoulders and walked out of the school grounds. She didn't look back. It was over. Some part of her tormented soul hoped to see Jayden but Opal smothered any signs of feelings toward her Mate. He will forget her soon. Wrong, he already had. She will forget him too. She simply needed more time. That's right, time and distance will do the trick.
The sound of closed car doors made her realize it was for real. She was leaving. She was leaving for good. She has spent all her life, among these people in this city. Now she was leaving, the only person she said goodbye to was Julie. How pathetic. Uncle probably thinks she is a complete loser. A quiet sigh escaped her lips.
"Are you sad?" – she heard her uncle's concerned voice – "Have you got any regrets?"
"I'm not, I regret nothing." she said firmly watching houses they were passing by leaving Grayshill for real.
Jayden was going straight to the history classroom when he heard a commotion in the corridor and all the familiar name "Opal". He hasn't seen her for a while. He was near her house two times in his wolf form, but she simply remained at home. He was worried, something happened between Opal and Alpha Mark but he didn't know what. The way she looked back then, the deep shock and her reluctance to be touched… Alpha Mark couldn't do something sexual to her, could he? This thought has been hunting him.
Jayden saw Julie among a few other female Omegas and Betas, she was telling them something in an agitated manner.
"He was really handsome. They both have these white hair, but his looks were stylish. A man with long hair can look good too."
"I thought she was an orphan with no family." Another girl said as Jayden made his way to their little gathering.
"What's the hot gossip?" he asked.
"Oh Jayden, haven't you heard? Opal and her uncle have been her a while ago." - Julie answered sweetly – "She took all her documents and left."
Jayden was standing in awe for a second before he was able to inquire further.
"Opal and who?
"Her uncle, an Alpha and what an Alpha. They looked like brother and sister." Julie almost drooled at the memory of that man.
If a thunder had struck Jaydent the impact wouldn't have been greater than this news.
"You said she left, like went back home or ..."
"No Jayden, she left like she's out of the city heading somewhere with her uncle. Never going back." Her tone was full of delight. The pain she noticed on his face was very satisfying after he dumped her in such a dreadful manner.
"Did she say where they were going?"
"No."
Jayden couldn't breathe for a time that felt like eternity.
"Jayden? What's wrong with you?" someone asked but he didn't listen. Walking briskly down the corridor. His mind was blank for a blessed moment and now all the pictures started to make out a story. She was hugging her uncle, the pheromones were her uncle's, she didn't betray him. He was the biggest asshole ever. In her eyes he fucked her and than rejected. No wonder she blocked him later. She had every right to hate him. What has he done?! Fuck! He needs to find her, explain the misunderstanding. He needs to get her back.
