Chapter 5 - STAY WITH ME

"This restaurant has the best reviews in the city but on getting here what am I seeing?"

Rainé eyed the man in front of her. He seemed to be gloating on her helplessness. Whatever it was, she had an inkling that he knew more than what he told her.

You stalk a girl every night... yes, this could be considered as stalking, but you have no idea why? Even a kid in kindergarten wouldn't be so foolish to believe that.

"There are a lot of things you aren't telling me right?" she asked softly and his face immediately became serious. Just as expected, she was right. But since the matters are all concerning her wouldn't it be fair enough that she knew everything? What was the point of keeping her in the dark?

"You can't stay here Rainé." He looked at her sternly and she could feel goosebumps crawling on her skin. The whole action startled her a bit and she watched as a small frown settled on his godly face as if wordlessly threatening her.

Raine gulped as his words finally registered in her head.

"W... wh... what do yo... you mean by I can't stay here?" She stuttered incoherently.

"I mean every single word I say Rainé," he voiced out and watched her myriad of expressions with amusement, and of course, he didn't show it.

"You're going to stay with m... "

"I can't stay with you."

"You have no choice Rainé." He replied again but this time he softened his composure as he raised his thick lashes and stared directly at her.

"But....."

"No buts. They know who you are, they are after you, the sooner you realize that, the better for you...I can't risk it all again." He said that last part with his voice lowered but it still caught her sensitive ears.

Rainé looked up at him with eyes glistening slightly with tears.

Who exactly was he talking about?

How did her once peaceful life turn out to be so hectic and roughish all of a sudden?

"I...I need time." She finally found her voice and he just nodded still deeply staring at her.

"But how do I know if you are not trying to kidnap me, I mean..." She unhurriedly spoke but his deep laughter caught her off earning him some more squeals from the girls around them and she could swear that her ears would bleed if she heard any more of their squeals.

"Can you hear yourself, Rainé?" he asked with a faint smile plastered on his thin lips and she nodded.

"Then can you believe what you just said?" he asked again and this time her head lowered out of shame.

Who would go through all these measures just to kidnap a single girl? What was she thinking giving such wild speculations as if singing a church chorus?

She stared up at him again and his eyelids fluttered open. His inky black hair was neatly arranged with his bangs resting lightly on his forehead and the faint sunlight coming in from the big double glass doors rested elegantly on his pale skin.

She couldn't help but wonder if the appearance that the other girls could see was as divine as this, but considering the pink hearts flying from their eyes, she could only guess that he still looked good nevertheless.

"See you soon, Rainé." And with that said, he stood up immediately and walked out of the restaurant at a slow pace.

Rainé stared at his retreating back dazedly.

Gosh!!! Even his back view was enough to sweep girls off their feet. She quickly averted her gaze and stood up to leave but the moment she turned around, she was blocked by a wall. No, not a brick wall but a wall of girls, and their faces were wild with rage.

She knew the situation very well. She had not only talked to him but also sat at his table and made him laugh. Earlier on, she was too bothered about her situation to even care about the girls and now she seemed to be in a dilemma as to what to do.

It would only be a miracle if she could get out of here unscathed. Considering maybe a 'miracle tornado' will just appear and the girls would magically disappear, but at this point in time, her imaginations couldn't run wild not when she was caught up in the middle or rather, in the front of a nerve-wracking situation.

Her gaze traveled around the little restaurant but found no one. She looked over the counter but still, no one was in sight. It was only then that she remembered that her mother was handling the kitchen while Sasha and Martha, her mother's workers were probably helping her out.

Crap!!! It seemed like she had offended the heavens today for her stars seemed to be moving in the wrong direction lately. She looked at all the girls and they were about ten of them, each of them around her age grade and she couldn't help but bite her lips out of frustration because she knew she was on the losing end.
