"Although you summoned me..." he began as his expressions grew serious just as she predicted, "but, I came here for something else..."
Rainé, noticing how serious he was, looked at him keenly, expecting him to voice out his thoughts but what came next made her baffled.
Just when she thought that he has something to finally tell her, he quickly threw something at her and she caught it between her palms reflexively.
She blinked twice and he tilted his head prompting her to look at what he threw to her. She looked down at her hands just to find out that it was her phone?
She looked up at him again and he smirked lightly. "Exactly how careless are you?" he questioned her and she gritted her teeth.
Oh great!! Did he do it purposely? Build up such high tension just to give her her phone? She glared at him again and the grin on his face grew wider.
This cunning man! So she was correct, he really did it purposely. She felt like slapping that grin off his face but she immediately countered on her thoughts when she remembered how scary he could be.
"Is that all?" she asked, with a little bit of hope, expecting him to just stop playing games and just reveal everything to her but the latter just stared at her like she was a mere fly and just raked his hand through his inky black hair revealing his misty grey eyes and her thoughts drifted off again to the fact that everyone else but her was seeing a different appearance.
Just as she was about to clear her thoughts by asking him, he immediately answered her as if reading her mind.
"Your ability to see my real appearance is just a problem. I never knew you were this powerful to see through my illusion. Looks like we really underestimated you." He muttered the last part to himself so she couldn't hear him but with the little she heard, her face grew pale and she immediately turned to leave when her phone rang.
Picking the call, she heard the usual bubbly and cheerful voice she has gotten so used to.
"Girlfriend, where are you? I'm at your mum's restaurant but Martha and Sasha had no idea about your location like you just disappeared into thin air or something." Nicole blabbered and Rainé sighed disheartenedly.
During that whole fiasco she really wished that she could dissappear but she could only thank her stars that he found her just to give her a phone? she was beginning to doubt his words but she still felt thankful to him for saving her.
"Hold on Nicole, I'll be there in a few minutes," she replied before hanging up on the call.
She glanced at him for one last time before taking a step forward only to hiss sharply in pain.
She stared down at her right leg only to see a big wound on her knees with blood gushing out. She thought back to the time the girls pushed her to the ground, back then, she was too busy wallowing in pain to even notice that she had sustained an injury.
She bent down to have a good look at the injury when she felt a presence beside her. Looking up, she saw him staring deeply at her injured knee but he didn't utter a word.
Still in silence, he bent down and picked her up princess style and walked out of the alley. She held his neck tightly to steady herself and watched his stoic face as he walked down the quiet street.
The gentle midday breeze blew his bangs away from his head and she could see his face clearly. She couldn't see his eyes as they were covered by his thick lashes but if she had seen it she would have noticed the dangerous glint that flashed across his eyes.
His hands holding her bare legs were cold, so cold, just as she remembered and she couldn't help but shiver when she noticed that he was angry for reasons unknown.
Wasn't he the one who was messing with her some few moments ago? Then why the sudden change of expressions? was he on his period or something?
She just shrugged off all those thoughts and continued admiring his face up close.
Moments later, they arrived at the front of her mother's restaurant and before she knew it, she was thrown into a car.
"Rainé?"
She turned her head and saw Nicole staring at her with thousands of questions evading her ocean blue eyes.
"Take her to the hospital." He ordered coldly and closed the door with a loud bang.
Nicole, out of impulse immediately started the car and drove off.
He stared at the car for a long while until it finally dissappeared into the road before picking up his phone to make a call and immediately the call connected, he ordered in a deadly tone,
"Kill them all..."
