In a spur of the moment, the nerve-wracking pain Rainé felt seemed to have come to an abrupt stop. She slowly stood up and gaped at him. 'How did he find me here? ' she questioned herself inwardly, still staring at him.
By now, the girls all looked like they were going to pee on their pants any second as they watched the figure who gracefully stood up and then turned around. They all raised their brows as if they were expecting something violent but what came after that explained it all.
"She's here, so I don't want her to see my violent side...not for now at least. I just hope that you guys find your legs before I do and trust me you won't be able to use them again." He gave them a silent warning and as if a hurricane had just blown past, the girls flew like the wind in various directions before he turned around to look at Rainé again.
Her hair was disheveled, her little cheeks were puffy and her sparkling eyes were teary. He felt a painful sensation in his chest, preferably, his heart and he clutched his fists to calm his nerves down.
He threw a tantalizing smile at her before voicing out, "Just some pesky humans, and yet you couldn't handle them, then what will happen if you finally meet them?"
Rainé looked up at him with her starry eyes and her lips quivered softly. It wasn't as if she couldn't fight but what could she do when her whole body seemed to be ignited by a city fire?
"Who may I ask are you talking about?" She replied shortly, her voice coming out hoarse and her throat felt as dry as the Sahara desert.
His smile never left his face for one second as he casually leaned his back against the wall and crossed his legs. "Those bratty furballs, what do you think?"
"Furballs? Do you mean dogs?" she questioned and her mind was thrown into chaos. Could it be that all these things were happening because of some dogs? But no matter how logical that may sound considering his statement, the whole idea sounds absurd.
"Sigh...I wish they were that." He echoed out lowly and Rainé just nodded, even if she didn't understand a thing, she knew that if she asked further she'll only get buried in the pit the more.
"But why do I feel pain in my body, does it have anything to do with the so-called furballs?" she asked and watched his expressionless face which gave no answer whatsoever but she still stared at it. He just shrugged.
With a smug look, he thought inwardly, 'How can someone be so clueless about her own body?'
But, it wasn't entirely her fault considering that they had gone through countless measures to keep the truth away from her but now circumstances were prompting them to do things that were unintended right from the very start.
Was the problem from her end or theirs?
"That's your question to answer Rainé." He replied smugly and she huffed, she could have seen it coming.
She looked down and arranged her clothes which were a little disheveled before snapping her head again towards him but this time her lips were drawn into a thin line.
"Why are you here again?" she asked but she immediately regretted blurting out that question because he soon gave his signature reply,
"You summoned me here, Rainé."
Oh, come on!!! Could someone tell her how she keeps summoning someone unknowingly? Her pupils dilated and she felt that she would immediately burst out in anger if someone didn't give her the answer to all her absurd questions.
Yes, the questions were absurd because the more she thought about it, the more illogical they sounded.
Sighing despondently, she looked up at him and found him giving her a sardonic look probably enjoying the frustration written all over her face.
Could someone add the question 'How was she going to deal with this man?' on the list of her absurd questions? And also rank it as number one because her bigger problems will definitely start from the ones she could see and right now she felt like wiping away every mocking grin from his face even if it requires removing all his teeth.
But she quickly shook that thought out of her head when she remembered his sharp, pointy fangs that seemed to be able to cut through any flesh without obstructions. Although, he looked relaxed right now but then she remembered that he could be as unpredictable as the weather she heard about a remote city where it could be raining now and all of a sudden, snow will just start falling then before you know it, the bright sun would peek its head out of the clouds.
"Although you summoned me," he began as his expressions grew serious just as she predicted, "But I came here for something else..."
