Chapter 20 - The Academy Exams 1

Before Druak was an enormous hall that had over a thousand people within it. The hall had intricate statues around it, each statue of a griffon with a different symbol on it. Some had alchemy bottles, others swords and shields. Durak assumed these were the entrances to the different departments of the school, this meant this room was probably the main hall. Durak was shocked that this was just the main hall as it was the size of his entire village.

There were different sections of the hall but all the new candidates for the academy were at the smallest part at the back of the hall. This was still enormous and was headed by a stage that multiple teachers stood atop, each with intimidating auras and mana exuding from them.

Druak tried to see the capabilities of the teachers but nothing seemed to work, he couldn't see any of their capabilities, that was except for one which lacked the intimidating aura and mana exuded by the other teachers.

This surprised Druak as it meant that this teacher was much weaker than the other teachers here. He came to this conclusion as no matter how much he tried he couldn't learn anything about the other teachers, but this teacher was an exception.'Are teachers that different in strength at this academy. I hope I get a better teacher than that.'

As Druak was thinking about this the booming voice of one of the teachers caught his attention, causing him to almost completely focus on the voice. It seemed some kind of magic was used to transmit the teacher's voice as it echoed seamlessly throughout the enormous hall.

"Greetings academy student, my name is Morgana Yemei and I am a senior teacher at this academy. I will be the one performing the evaluation test for this year. I hope all of you do a great job and I look forward to seeing some of you in my classes this year."She said with a cheerful smile on her face. She looked to be barely past 20, but this was probably due to her high stage in her class. She had green hair that flowed down her body and was attractive enough for Druak to hear gossiping between the male students and even female students about her.

"I hope she becomes my teacher." Druak tried to ignore them and just focused on what was said after.

As he was listening to the speech someone seemed to tap him on the shoulder. At first he ignored it but after it continued he finally turned around furrowing his eyebrows in anger.

"Now is that the face you should be making to your only friend." The person said with a giant grin on his face.

"Isacc you made it back." Druak said as he looked Isacc over for any injuries. He was incredibly worried about whether Isacc was alive or not and tried searching all over for him when he got into the hall but it seemed he was worried for nothing, Isaac seemed to be in perfect health.

"Where'd you disappear to at the volcanic Isles. I thought that snake got to you." Isacc asked with an annoyed tone.

Druak paused for a second before responding."I had to get the snake away from you so I ended up leaving you behind. I'm sorry I didn't come back for you, but it was the only thing I could do at that time."

Isacc seemed rather annoyed. But after a short while he looked at Druak and said. "Dont worry about it, thanks for saving me back then. I thought I was a goner."

'Sorry Isacc, but you can't know what really happened. I know you'd blame yourself for it and I can't put that on you. It was my fault and I'll take responsibility and take revenge for all those villagers that suffered.' Druak thought as a sullen expression appeared on his face. Isacc seemed to notice this and was about to say something but the voice of the senior teacher interrupted him.

"Can all candidates go towards the teacher you have been assigned to for this exam. Your teacher's name will be on a card you should have been given at the entrance of the academy."

Druak looked down at the card he had been given at the entrance of the academy, he hadn't paid much attention to this before and didn't realise it was actually very important so at the time he just stuck it in his pocket and started looking for Isacc.

As Druak pulled out the card he saw a name on it that he seemed to recognize. Ardin Adder.

This teacher seemed to have the same last name as the candidate he had met before and was probably from the same family. Druak's only hope at the moment was that the student hadn't told his family member about earlier. Druak didn't care much for conflict, but he wanted to try to avoid taking any risks especially if it could affect whether or not he got into the academy.

"Well, this will be interesting." Druak said as he approached a tall man with slicked back hair, who looked very similar to his younger family member.

"I'll see you after the examination." Isacc said as he smiled at Druak. They both had different examiners so they went their separate ways at that point.

As Druak walked towards his examiner he glanced at a young girl around his age that was probably the most attractive girl he had ever seen. Her crimson hair draped down her stunning body, captivating anyone that passed her.

Druak began to look towards her face, but as he did so the wild glare on her face shocked even him, enough to make even him look away. This surprised Druak as he had seen such devastation in the past few weeks but that glare had a killing aura that even frightened him.

This didn't deter Druak much however as he once again looked at the girl before him. The girl stared back once again, but this time stopped glaring and simply scoffed and looked away from him.

"Who is that girl. I don't remember anyone like that in the Argonaut kingdom." Druak said, unintentionally thinking out loud.

As he said those words someone else's voice spoke, not far behind him.
