*Bang*
*Bang*
*Bang*
Loud noises echoed throughout the forest each time making the team jump in fright. They couldn't see anything, were freezing cold and now had to stay on constant alert for an attack.
The teachers location.
"What an interesting plan." Gard said as he observed the arena before him.. It seemed as though he knew what Druak and his team were planning.
"What are you on about, this is just a waste of time. Why don't they just attack each other and get this over with." Ardin said, with an annoyed tone.
*Tsk* Gard clicks his tongue and says"Noble kid, they never learn anything about war." Gard's anger began to show on his face. "You've never been in a war have you." Gard continued to ask.
"What are you on about, my father let me kill traitors when I was only 10. Of course, I've participated in a war." Ardin responded, showing a proud expression with his head tilted high.
"Fool, I mean actual war. This is called a strategy, something you would have learned if you actually had guts and went to war." Gard responded annoyed that Ardin called what he did, participating in a war.
"What did you just…." Just as Ardin was about to finish, a flash of light sliced through the fog.
30 minutes earlier
"So everyone understands what we are going to do." Druak asked.
All of his teammates responded in unison with a node of their head, although some seemed rather reluctant. However, after looking at Oscar they no longer seemed as reluctant.
Druak's plan was to use his new spell to create a cold fog which would cover their enemies, this fog was freezing cold but shouldn't affect his team as he would only put it around the enemies.
{Drakar Mist} As he performed the spell he realised it wasn't nearly as easy as he originally thought to control, so he ended up also affecting his teammates. This wasn't nearly as bad as the effect had on the other team but Druak learned that he still needed to train much more before he could use this spell in actual combat.
The rest of his team was busy making loud noises around their enemies, this was done both as a distraction and to stress out the opposing team.
While all this was going on Oscar was slowly approaching the enemy team, his great axe dragging against the floor.
*Scrrr* "Hey, do you hear something." The leader asked, darting his eyes all around them.
"What are you on about. All I can hear is that annoying banging." Another responded.
Just as this was said a ginormous flash of light slashed through the fog, causing it to part ways.
"MOVE!" The leader shouted, but it was too late. Two of his teammates flew out of the arena.
Without warning 3 other figures escaped from the fog and attacked. The loud clash of spells and weapons echoed throughout the forest.
This clash didn't last long as Druak's team had the advantage in both numbers and strength. It didn't help that the other team was mentally drained from everything that happened beforehand.
The leader of the team realised he was losing so he began to cast a spell, fire forming all around him.
An enormous magical circle formed before him, this was a spell that some silver ranked mages could use. But it was lethal, both to the caster and everyone around them.
Luckily Druak had expected this and bolted towards the caster.
*Bang*
The fight ended in 10 minutes, Druak delivering the final blow to the leader with a sneak attack to the back. Druak had used a simple mana blast, but the thing that surprised even Gard was the precision at which the mana blast was used.
"Who is that kid." Gard muttered to himself.
Ardin didn't seem to notice anything and just walked towards the applicants, Gard following shortly behind.
"That was easier than I thought." Druak muttered. He had been trying to save his mana after using so much on the fog but didn't expect it to end so fast.
Druak jerked forward, a large hand slamming against his back. "Great plan, I didn't know you were so powerful." Druak turned around and realised the cheerful voice came from Oscar.
The only problem was that his other teammates weren't as pleased with this result. The reason they agreed with this plan in the first place was that Oscar, he was a high ranked noble and they didn't want to get on his bad side. All of their faces were contorted in anger, but Druak simply ignored it as he was getting used to people always judging him by his status and honestly didn't care what they thought.
"Congratulations on passing the test." Ardin said, still focusing on the two girls on Druak's team instead of the rest of them.
This bothered Druak a little but he had already learned what kind of person Ardin was so he didn't pay too much attention to it.
Oscar on the other hand was different and stared directly at Ardin saying."Stop staring at them and just take us to our next teacher so we can get on with this exam." Oscar's face was getting angrier and angrier by the second and Ardin seemed to notice this.
"Yes, you are absolutely correct Mr Hound. Let me show you the way." Ardin then proceeded to walk Druak and his group towards the main hall once again.
Druak's team had finished a bit earlier than expected so they and a few other groups were left waiting in the hall.
While waiting Druak noticed the team he had fought previously and noticed that 2 of their members were missing, the strange thing was that the two that were missing were the lowest ranked nobles and it seemed pleased they left.
"So that's how they get rid of none nobles." Druak muttered to himself.
Oscar seemed to misunderstand what Druak was doing as he thought he was looking somewhere else and said. "I didn't think you were that kind of person. Why are you staring at the foreign student." Oscar seemed angry at what Durak was doing.
Druak realised that Oscar probably mistook what was happening and said."No. You misunderstand, I was looking at the team we just fought." Druak said, raising his hands in defence.
"Oh, my apologies. But why are you looking at them." Oscar asked with a sparkle in his eyes.
Druak started to respond saying."I …." But before he could finish Oscar said."Is it a rivalry or are they your arch enemy or is…" Druak cut him off."Forget it…" Trying to change the subject and also still being rather curious he asked Oscar. "So who is that red haired girl anyway. I keep hearing about her but know nothing about her."
Oscar had a surprised expression on his face but before he could respond all the teachers had returned to the hall and the lead teacher started speaking, which prevented Druak from learning about this girl once again.
