After Oscar confronted Ardin he finally started to explain the rules of the entrance exam. The most important thing that was said was that there would be 5 tests in total that would judge whether or not you would get in. Another important factor was, even if you did pass all the tests if you didn't make the top 300 you would still be instantly excluded from joining the academy. This meant that even if you could enter the academy last year it didn't mean you could this year, due to the difference in talent each year. This was probably why there was such a variety of graduates from the academy.
This was information Druak already knew about from Isacc in his past life. The only thing he didn't know about was what the tests would actually be as everyone that took them was not permitted to disclose any details to people outside the academy.
"Now that you know the basic rules of acceptance into the academy I will now explain to you what your first test will be and where it is located." Ardin then proceeded to walk Druak and his group towards a large arena, while he continued his explanation.
"For this test, you will be going against another team. You will only be able to use none lethal attacks against one another and if you are caught using lethal attacks you will automatically get the penalty of losing which will lead to two members of your team being removed. So I advise you to do well as the more members you have the better for later tests, even if some of them are worthless." As he finished his sentence he glanced at Druak and another non-noble applicant, staring down at them.
He continued but after the comment Ardin made Druak realised there was no point in listening to anything else. He also noticed that Ardin added if you get caught doing lethal attacks, this meant that people still use lethal attacks so Druak had to be much more careful than he originally thought. He was also confused as to why they weren't told who would be kicked out of the team if they lost, this didn't matter much as Druak had no plans on losing anyway, but it didn't stop Druak from being curious.
"Sir, what are the requirements of getting kicked from the team if we lose." Druak asked, trying to sate his curiosity.
Ardin didn't answer straight away and first looked down at the badge on Druak's temporary uniform. After realising it was the same student he looked down on before and noticing Druak had a blank badge Ardin scrunched his brows and said."Shut up, peasant." Ardin's voice showed signs of annoyance after having to listen to Druak talk.
Druak almost forgot what kind of person Ardin was reminded once again of the difference in statues. All Druak did was mutter under his breath."You'll regret that, your actions some day." Druak hadn't realised it but he had a very vengeful personality and often got his way when it came to revenge. He always considered himself quite peaceful, but that was only if he wasn't disturbed, which almost never happened.
Once Druak had calmed down he followed the rest of his group to a large arena that contained a forest-like terrain and not far from their location was another group which also had a teacher and 5 students.
Ardin approached the teacher and seemed rather annoyed at the sight of this teacher. Druak didn't understand the reason to start with but after looking at the teacher's badge Druak finally understood why… he was not a noble.
It wasn't only students that had a badge for their family crest, teachers also had these badges and Ardin was the type of person that only judged people by the rank and renown of their noble family.
*Sptt* Ardin spat on the floor next to the teacher and said."Disgusting. I can't believe the president let you be a teacher of the academy."
The teacher seemed to ignore Ardin and walked straight past him, walking straight towards Druak and his group. "It's a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Gard and I look forward to seeing your performance in the exam." It seemed as though Gard was the kind of teacher that would actually motivate the applicants instead of Ardin, who only seemed to notice the two noble girls in Druak's group.
Druak was slightly surprised but didn't show it on his face, only thinking.'What a strange person.' Some might think this was normal as the teacher was not a noble and shouldn't worry about ranks or pride but this meant the opposite. Most non-nobles that got into high positions often tried to get on nobles' good sides and ignored anyone of the same status as them, so this was a rather big surprise to Druak.
"You dare ignore me." Ardin said as his face reddened yet again.
"Stop being such a child, we have an exam to get to." Gard responded, staring at Ardin.
*hmph*Ardin grumbled but realised now wasn't the time to argue and decided to get back to the exam.
"Alright students. This exam will last 1 hour and the winner will be decided by the number of students that are still in the arena or still conscious. Any student that loses consciousness will not be able to re enter the exam and will be removed from the arena…. Are there any questions."
"No sir." All the students responded almost in unison.
"Then let the test begin."
10 minutes later
Druak and his team had decided to hide up in the trees so that they could set up a plan.
After their plan was set they split up and put it into action.
The other teas location.
"This is going to be easy, did you see their team. They have two peasants on their team."
*Hahaha* The entire team were busy laughing at the fact that their opponents would be peasants and didn't notice what was happening around them
As they were laughing they noticed their breaths begin to fog up and a mist began to envelop them
"What is this. I don't remember there being a class that was this powerful in our year."
"They don't even have anyone of the elite 10 in their team. How do they have someone able to manipulate the environment." Another student responded.
The freezing cold mist shocked all the students as there shouldn't be anyone under 3rd stage that should be able to do such powerful spells and what made it worse is this spell was being done by someone none of them knew about. Almost all the strong students had their information leaked before the start of the year so most students knew their class and skills, but none of them had this kind of power.
"Be careful, don't underestimate them just because they don't have anyone from the elite 10."One of the students said he appeared to be the leader of the group.
They were now completely surrounded by the freezing cold mist, all of them huddled together.
