The Frostbite spider came charging through the cave walls and stopped to stare at the culprit of all this destruction.
It was an enormous spider, covered with blue crystals and had 8 razor sharp legs that could slice a normal human in half instantly. 'So this is a proper 2nd stage monster. Only saw a few in my last life, this one is definitely a lot stronger than they were.' Even though there were multiple 2nd stage monsters there were still some much stronger than others, this was often due to the concentration of mana inside their body.
This spider definitely exuded a lot more mana than Druak had ever seen in a 2nd stage monster.
The Frostbite spider didn't wait for more than a second before charging straight at Druak, its charge causing the cave roof to collapse on itself.
Druak sprinted towards his traps, trying to avoid any of the falling rocks. The hatchlings didn't make this easy however as they started leaping up at him.
Druak flung {mana bolts} at any hatchling that came close, but they had slowed druak down enough for the frostbite spider to get a swipe in. * Swoosh* The enormous blade-like leg flew just past Druak's neck, he managed to evade it just barely but fell to the ground in the process.
Druak lay on the ground staring up at the mandibles of this terrifying creature but for some reason, he only had a cold glare as if it hadn't fazed him in the slightest.
The blade-like legs continued to slam down at Druak but he managed to roll out of the way each time. As Druak watched the spider he began to see a pattern, the spider always shifted its weight onto the opposite leg it was going to strike with.
As the spider continued its adult on Druak scraps began to cover more of his body however Druak didn't make a sound and just continued to concentrate on the legs of the creature, seemingly looking for some kind of opportunity.
The leg of the spider once again slammed down straight at druak…. But this time he didn't dodge the strike, no he grabbed the leg of the monster causing his palms to scrape against the carapus of the spider's skin. Druak gripped as hard as he could and pulled the spider's leg away from the rest of its body, causing it to fall to the ground. Druak took this opportunity to get up off the ground and run away, the spider following suit not long after.
'Almost there.' Druak kept looking back at the spider, making sure it continued to follow…and whenever it didn't he would grab a hatchling and break its neck, enraging the frostbite spider once more.
The frostbite spider seemed to have enough. It stopped in place.
Druak knew what this meant.' S**t it's going to launch a frost blast.' The stomach of the spider began to glow bright blue as the temperature of the cave plummeted.
Druak sprinted as fast as he could toward a boulder so that he could take cover from the attack. Just as he leapt to the boulder an enormous blast of ice launched itself straight at him.
*Bang * The frost blast slammed straight into the boulder, causing it to crumble to pieces. Druak didn't go away unharmed either, his arm was frozen solid.
Druak ignored the searing pain he felt in his arm, continuing to sprint towards his trap.
*Bang * The cave wall came crumbling to pieces, druak leaping through the hole left in the wall.
Druak quickly came to a stop, skidding across the cave floor. The spiders are not far behind.
"Come on you ugly arachnid, this the best you got." Druak said as he stared at the ginormous spider before him.
It didn't take long for the spider to react. It charged straight at Druak, screeching at the top of its lungs.
'Almost there, just a little closer.' The spider was a few feet away from Druak, still charging straight at him.
Its razor sharp legs came down like a guillotine to execute Druak, but just as it was about to hit him. "NOW." Druak shouted as a {mana bolt} slammed straight into the ground, causing the spider to fall into a huge hole and tumble on its back.
The spider struggled as much as possible to get free, but Druak didn't give it any chance to escape, he cast another {mana bolt} straight into the hole.
The {mana bolt} collided with all the dura crystals in the ground, setting off a chain reaction of explosions. Druak also prepared a rock fall, which would fall on the frostbite spider as soon as the dura crystals exploded.
"Crwaawaa."
The shrieks of the spider echoed throughout the entire cave."This won't hold it for too long, I should hurry and get that necrotic crystal."
Druak looked at the trap with the frostbite spider in, then turned around and ran straight through the holes made from his fight with the frostbite spider.
As he ran through the cave he encountered a few hatchlings but it didn't take much for him to deal with them. Eventually, he managed to enter an enormous room covered with blue crystals, this was the nest of the frostbite spider.
As he walked into the room the temperature plummeted, causing Druaks breaths to condensate as they escaped his mouth.
"This is amazing." Druak always loved seeing all of the wondrous things in this world and was excited to see all of these amazing things, especially after not getting a chance to in his past life. He was only ever able to listen to stories he had heard in his past life about things outside his village.
This was a whole new experience for him. But he needed to concentrate on the task at hand.
Slowly he approached what seemed to be a nest. This nest had three eggs and seemed to surround a blue crystal which had black flames surrounding it. These flames seemed to be so cold that it caused the whole room to be almost completely frozen, this explained the freezing temperature.
The eggs were unborn frostbite spiders, unlike hatchlings which never grew up and were only made to protect the nest, these spiders would be able to at least go up to 2nd stage once fully grown.
Druak was rather confused, however. It seemed as though everyone in his past life was lied to, because the crystal in front of Druak definitely wasn't a necrotic crystal.
" This isn't a necrotic crystal, it's a ...."
