Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"Don't worry, it's nothing." Logan refused when the paramedics wanted to approach him.

There were still signs of blood on the piece of cloth Logan used in covering the wound, so there was no way he could tell them the injury was small.

"What are you saying?" Castiel was surprised by Logan's behavior.

He saw the wound, so he knew it was not small. What did Logan mean by it's nothing?

"Young man, I'll advise you to let us check it out. Even if we don't stitch it, at least we can dress it to avoid infection." One of the paramedics advised.

"Thank you for your kind intentions, but I'll be alright. Cass, we better get going, we're already late for school." Logan turned to Castiel.

He couldn't under any circumstances allow these people to treat him. The good thing was, after seeing him refuse them again, they didn't force him. They took the young man and prepared to leave.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Castiel asked the moment the ambulance left.

"Nothing, I just don't want them to treat it, I'll do it myself when we get to school." Logan said.

"Is that… forget it, do whatever you want." Castiel wanted to complain, but the ambulance was long gone. There was no use in speaking about it any longer.

Logan could only smile sheepishly and walk in the direction of their school.

When they got to the school, although it was closed, they were able to speak with the security to let them in. Logan's hand made their explanation a whole lot easier. After going inside, Logan went straight to the school's infirmary. Castiel wanted to go with him but he refused, saying he would go on his own.

He took some bandages and used them to wrap up the place as if he treated it before going to class.

When he got to class, Castiel had already spoken with the teacher and told her about their ordeal, seeing Logan step in with bandages on his hand, she confirmed their story and decided to let them go.

Daphne was not in class once again, which made Logan heave a sigh of relief. When they were finished with class for the day, most of their students in the school went to watch the football team's match with another school.

Castiel suggested they went as well, but Logan was against it.

"You never go to any place where there are people." Castiel complained when Logan rejected his suggestion.

"I have to get Stephanie, maybe some other time." Logan said before walking out of the school.

On his way to Stephanie's school, he heard the sound of faint footsteps in the woods.

He was not the only one walking on the road, so he pretended like he didn't hear anything and continued walking. Besides, it's not every time he heard something he would check it out.

Two days went by in the blink of an eye, and it was finally the weekend.

Castiel and Logan were invited to the school for a celebration of the school's football team winning the competition they were on. Logan as usual rejected the idea since it would be a party all through the night.

Castiel however didn't agree to it, making sure he dragged Logan with him when he was leaving.

Logan wanted to use the excuse of Stephanie being alone in the house as an excuse, but his father returned home and would be sleeping at home. Even his father was in support of the idea of the kids going out to have fun.

With no other option, Logan went to the party with Castiel.

They got there at around 8:15 p.m.

The venue for the party was the school's football team stadium. It couldn't really be compared to a real stadium though since the seats were only made of wood, and if it was raining, it would pour down on all the fans since nothing was covering them.

Most of the students were there, and a few security personnels from the school to ensure the safety of the students. Loud music was playing in the background which almost made Logan go crazy.

Castiel was more social than he was, so he naturally had other friends. Logan told him to meet up with his friends while he went to a corner to sit, away from the crowd.

A few minutes after he sat down, he overheard footsteps coming close to him, when he looked to see who it was, it was one of the young ladies from their class. He had forgotten her name though.

"Logan, I didn't think you'd come." She said when she saw him.

"Trust me, I didn't want to be here." Logan was a straightforward person which made communicating with him difficult for others.

"You're not the only one." The young lady said, "Can I?"

"Sure." Logan nodded, giving her permission to sit.

He naturally had no issues with her sitting here. After their short conversation, he looked at the sky, and seeing the moon, he froze for a bit.

'A blood moon.' He thought internally.

During these past days, he had been researching werewolves intensively, and he got to find out some things. Of course he can't be sure of most of the things since they were mostly myths, but from one of the articles he read, there was a particular thing about blood moons. It causes werewolves to become more aggressive.

'Oh no.' His heart sank and he stood up hurriedly.

As he tried to leave, he saw a young man around his age coming toward him, he was not alone. There were around five people with him, and Logan could perceive Castiel's scent as the group came close.

"You're here?" The young man walked past Logan as if he didn't exist, asking the young lady who sat with Logan.

"Jack, please get out of my sight." The young lady said peacefully.

"I already told you it would never happen again." The young man referred to as Jack said while drawing closer to the young lady.

Logan didn't pay any heed to their conversation and turned to Castiel who got there a few seconds after Jack's group arrived.

"I have to leave." He said to Castiel.

"What?" Castiel was surprised by the news.

It hadn't even been up to thirty minutes since they arrived and Logan wanted to leave.

"I can't stay here, it's too noisy for me." Logan tried to come up with an excuse.

"Logan, as much as I'd like you to have your peace, this is the one time we came out to have fun, don't tell me you're going to ruin it so early?" Castiel wore a sad expression.

"I'm sorry, but I…"

Logan was in the middle of speaking when he heard rushed footsteps coming at him.

Without even looking back, he moved to the side.

Jack wanted to grab him by the shirt, but with Logan's quick movement, he was unable to.

"Is this piece of trash the reason you won't forgive me?" Jack asked angrily.

"Jack, go home, you're not in your right senses." The young lady rushed forward when she saw what Jack wanted to do.

"Surround him." Jack ordered the boys beside him.

"What's the meaning of this?" Castiel questioned angrily.

These boys were all part of the football team. Given how physical football was, it was only natural that each of them was strong.

"Just stay at the side and watch, or you'll join him as well." Jack threatened.

Castiel was not going to listen to this, he moved to Logan's side before saying, "I think we should leave then."

"Heh! You think you can?" Jack snickered.

"Jack, you're drunk, leave alone." The young lady stood in front of Jack.

"Get out of my sight, b*tch." Jack pushed the young lady away, before walking toward Logan.
