Dixon Town, 8:30 p.m Wednesday, December 29th, 2024.
Castiel was sitting outside a cell, underground. This was the place he found for Logan. It was an underground bunker he accidentally found in an abandoned building close to their school.
He was a little nervous, tapping his foot on the ground as he watched Logan who was inside the cell, chained against the walls. If it was a normal human, he wouldn't have any fears in them being able to escape, but this was a werewolf, he couldn't guarantee that it could hold him back.
Daphne who might have been able to fight against him was not here, and he was a normal human, which meant he was as good as toast if Logan escaped.
The wolfsbane he kept from the one Daphne used during the blood moon wasn't as effective as it used to be, it could barely draw a reaction from Logan any longer.
"Cass, you don't need to be nervous, I would attack you, even if I somehow miraculously escape from this." Logan said when he noticed how nervous Castiel was.
"I'm not, I just don't feel too safe." Castiel said with a wry smile.
He wanted to help his friend, but not at the cost of his life. Especially when the person who might kill him was the one he wanted to help.
"You have a steel wall behind you, even a werewolf wouldn't be able to break through that. All you need to do is leave the second you notice I'm able to break the chains." Logan advised.
Castiel looked at the door which was opened, "I'm way ahead of you there buddy."
He didn't lock the door just in case he would need to run away. That way, he wouldn't waste any time escaping.
The duo stayed inside the bunker as time went on. Before long, the full moon shone in its full glory, and even Castiel who was a human could feel it.
Logan started to react to it accordingly. While he was starting to change, he thought about his younger sister.
When he thought about this, he realized he calmed down significantly, but it didn't last longer than ten minutes before he once again started to lose control.
While he was still in a half transformed state, he sensed something.
"Cass, let me go." He said to Castiel.
"I'm sorry Logan, I can't." Castiel replied.
"I can sense something dangerous coming to the town. Please, let me go." Logan pleaded with Castiel.
"Huh? You can sense something coming to our town?" Castiel asked, clearly in doubt.
"Yes." Logan nodded seriously.
"I'm sorry, but I can't." Castiel replied.
"I'm serious, I can sense something coming to the town, it has already entered as we speak." Logan said as he tried to free himself from the chains.
"I'm sorry, but my answer remains the same, I can't." Castiel said.
According to Daphne, if Logan was kept in check, then a strange organization would kill him. He didn't care what he sensed, but he was not going to let him go. Logan told him of the organization Daphne spoke of that would kill him if he accidentally killed any innocent person, he didn't want his friend to die, so definitely, he would not let him go.
"Cass, listen to me. I'm trying trying to trick you, I can sense a werewolf entering the town. Before it kills anyone, let me stop it, please." Logan pleaded.
He didn't know how he was able to discern the scent of a werewolf from a normal person, but he knew his senses were not wrong.
"Logan…" Castiel wanted to speak but he was cut short.
"Cass, trust me." Logan said.
He was presently in his half transformed state, with claws and canines coming out. He grew facial hairs and the length of his hair increased with his ears turning to that of a wolf, his eyes turning blue, and his nose taking a different form. But he was still conscious, which meant he knew what he was doing.
"Please, no matter what you do, don't kill any innocent person, or else that organization is going to kill you. Remember Steph and Mr. Smith needs you. I also need you." Castiel advised as he walked closer to the cell.
Logan was still in his right mind, although he might be aggressive, it didn't mean he has lost his mind just yet.
Castiel cautiously walked to the cell while repeatedly saying, 'This is a bad idea' as he unlocked the cell and started to unlock the keys placed on the chains.
"Logan, please, don't disappoint me." He looked straight into Logan's blue eyes and said.
Logan nodded as he freed him. With the chains gone, he was finally free.
"Don't worry, Cass, I'll try my best to keep everything in control." He said before rushing out for the cell.
Before Castiel could say anything, Logan's figure was gone.
"I can't believe I wasted so much time searching for this place only for it to be useless." Castiel looked around, trying to think about what he would do till morning.
It was already past 10 p.m, and given how lonely this place was, he would never take the risk of going home alone, especially with a werewolf roaming, well, two werewolves if he added his friend to the list.
Outside the safe house, according to how Castiel called it.
Logan could be seen running through the woods on all four. He hadn't turned into a complete werewolf yet, but he was almost as fast as when he was in his werewolf state. His current destination was the northern part of the town. That was where he was sensing the scent of a werewolf.
He didn't want anyone else to die from a wolf attack in this town, this was what he promised himself the day he knew he was a werewolf.
When he stepped outside, the effect of the moon increased, but with a target in mind, he was able to stay focused.
