No one, not even the vampires that are close to Ambrosia, not even Edwin, that was the closest to her has ever spoken in the same manner Darren did.
The man before her was fearless and bold, which was amusing to her, surprisingly. Every humans, vampires or witches fidgets and shiver in fear when they see her or when she speaks to them but the man was different.
Her amused face suddenly went back to it usual deadpan face and without a warning, she was in front of Darren, pinning him to the wall, but being a skilled fighter, he was quick enough to push her from him and attacked with his blades.
Ambrosia blocked a blade from going into her neck, but Darren had other plan. Seeing she blocked the first blade, he targeted her stomach, little did he know he was fighting the vampire queen.
Ambrosia caught his wrist and pushed him to the wall causing him to hit his back hard, but he quickly got up before she got to him and held back her wrists, preventing her sharp nails from digging into his stomach.
She stepped on his feet but he pulled it from under her and that made her slipped. Not having control of her held hands, she fell to the floor with him on top.
Darren held her wrists in place with one hand, his hand like an handcuff on her wrists, while he tightened the grip of his blade on his free hand and lifted it, ready to stab the woman.
Ambrosia took her gaze to his hand with the blade and immediately, he lost control. He couldn't move that hand.
She turned him over and straddled him with her both knees on the floor and her feet on his legs. She was in control of his body so he couldn't move.
His mind was blank. She couldn't read through his mind which had never happened before.
"Who are you?" She questioned, staring deeply into his grey eyes as if seeing his soul.
"I am none of your business." He spitefully replied through gritted teeth.
Ambrosia looked straight into his eyes and in a blink of an eye, he was raised up and pinned to the wall by an invisible hand. Darren felt his body being stung by insects but there was nothing moving on him. He groaned and looked down at the woman who was still on her spot and not looking away from him. She was definitely not ordinary. Could she really be the witch of the forest who isn't a myth?
She tightened her fist and Darren groaned loudly as he felt his inside being squeezed out by the same invisible hand. Ambrosia wasn't close by, but she was inflicting pain in him.
He spurted out blood from his mouth, and gasped out for breath as his lungs were being squeezed. "Go ahead and kill me, you bloody woman." He struggled to say the words out.
The grip suddenly left him and he fell to the floor with a loud thud, accompanied by a groan from him.
Before he could recover, he felt her weight on him again just as she had straddled him before. She leaned closer until he could feel her warm breath on his neck. He was numb and his body seemed to be paralyzed. Trying to push her away was useless.
She used the tip of her tongue and licked his neck in his most sensitive spot. He would be the perfect man to be her messenger but then, she was thirsty for his blood.
"Who are you?" She asked in a whisper in his ear.
"I should ask you instead. You can't try to seduce me and be acting all tough."
She lifted her head and was back to staring at him but this time, her irises weren't red but hazel. Beautiful hazel eyes that got him lost for a minute. Her eyes gave out no emotion and were lifeless but he was attracted to those beautiful, dark, emotionless hazel eyes. Since she was so close to him, he finally was able to take in the beautiful details of the woman's face.
Her face was spotless, her nose straight, her lips succulent and was full of red. Her straight jet black hair fell across her face and to his face, thankfully, his nose mask helped to prevent it from going into his mouth. The beautiful face can't be mistaken for innocence, as looking at her face gave an evil chill. She had the face of an angel but she was a demonic witch.
"I hate to be stared at," she informed in a toneless voice, still staring at him. The man had the gut to come to her even though she tried killing him minutes ago, what sort of human is he?
Darren blinked away and cursed himself inwardly for admiring her when she had done bad to his sister and have starved her for days. The admiration in his eyes disappeared and was replaced by anger and hatred.
"Let my sister go," he ordered, "She has done nothing wrong to you."
Ambrosia smirked and went back to her deadpan face as she relaxed back on him. "And why should I? I don't take orders from weaklings like you humans."
"She is my only sister. Have some pity and think if this is done to your family."
She laughed shortly, "I don't have a family and I don't pity. Well," She moved the strand of his hair from his face, "You two will fill my blood bank and I don't play around with my prey."
"What do you want? I will give it to you just let my sister go." He asked calmly knowing trying to fight the woman wouldn't do any good.
She was stronger and skilled than he was.
"Becareful what you ask for....." she warned with a sly smile.
"I don't have a choice."
She hated humans, but this human had something she might need. He was different from the others she had seen in the forest and she will use that to her advantage.
She stood up and took some step away from him, "It's not for free. What do you have to offer? Can you offer your services?"
