Chapter 11 - I am a business woman

Darren moved back as she vanished and his eyes went to the lifeless body on the floor whose head have being detached from his body.

"Shit! That devil!" he grunted and brought out his blades. An evil laugh made him look up. Ambrosia was on the rooftop, heading towards Isabel's room. "Oh no, Isabel." he called out and ran after her.

Seeing how she killed the vampire, the crazy witch could do anything to his sister. She had no sympathy and would kill his sister without a second thought.

He ran into the castle and used the stairs to the rooftop, climbing up the stairs was stressful and painful for him as he was Injured but that didn't matter to him as all he wanted was to rescue Isabel. He got to the rooftop and ran into the room where Isabella was.

Breathing heavily, he placed his hand on his knees and looked at Ambrosia who was standing at the window with his sister kneeling beside her. His eyes widened seeing the witch hand holding her hair tight.

His face contorted with anger. "Don't you dare hurt my sister," he threatened menacingly with much hostility.

The vampire queen laughed out sardonically, "A mere rat telling me what to do in my castle." Her face hardened, "You don't have to worry about me killing your sister because I will kill the both of you." she scowled and her eye turned bright red. She licked her lips hungrily not taking her eyes off him.

"I gave you what you want, now give me back my sister."

Ambrosia laughed out and tightened her hold on Isabel who gave out a weak cry. She enjoyed hearing Isabel cry as she is one of those pure bloods who she hate a lot.

Darren stood in confusion on what to do at that moment. His pleas wouldn't help. Fighting the witch would mean dying as she would kill him off in seconds. The witch is truly a witch. She never kept to her word. He should have known.

He fell to the floor with his knees and looked at the woman in front of him. "Tell me what you want and I will give it to you even though it means being in place of her. Just let go of my sister," He pleaded.

Never in his life has he ever pleaded to someone. Everyone does what he wanted and people plead for his mercy, but he was, pleading to a crazy witch.

Hearing his pleas, Ambrosia laughed out loud. Her loud laugh was penetrating, that Darren wished he could snap her head from her neck and throw her body away. He bent his head and clenched his fist on his thigh. His powerful jaw was hardened, as he closed his eyes trying so hard not to do anything that would put his sister in danger.

Ambrosia enjoyed the view of the man in front of her. Everyone is always at the paw of her mercy and she enjoys it. She enjoys making people beg and then killing them off.

"You are willing to take your sister's place?" she asked with amusement in her voice. Her eyes were dark, but her voice sounded so amused. Even her smile made her cold. Darren wondered why the witch was so dark and cold. Well of course, she is a witch, the forest witch. The one who kills people for their blood. A crazy psychopath.

He looked at his sister and then back at the witch, "Yes, as long as you let her go and make sure she arrives safely in my father's house," he answered in a tight voice.

She laughed again, a penetrating deafening laughter. Before he knew what was happening, she was right in front of him. She leaned closer in the sense that their noses were almost touching. Her knee was on his thigh and her hands on the floor like an obedient servant seating and patiently waiting for her master to give her an order. Her hair fell on his face.

Darren was taken aback by the sudden position of the woman in front of him. Even though she was so close to him, he didn't feel her breathe. That made him wonder all the more if she was a living being. It would make a lot of sense if she truly is a dead person and it was her ghost with him.

The woman looked at his grey orbs, not looking away. The man is really something else. No one has ever dared her, no one has ever stood before her without trembling in fear. Who exactly is the man? She wondered.

Darren was still trying to understand what she was doing when suddenly, her tongue touched the side of his mouth. That move made him lose every consciousness in him as he stared with wide eyes. Slowly, she moved her tongue from the side of his mouth and up to his forehead, to his bruise, licking his blood.

She never expected his blood to taste so good as she licked her lips. The man had something in him. Something for the first time, she couldn't figure out.

Could it be the man is the solution she has been waiting for? The man might be the answer she need.

"I don't like seeing my prey go away from me," she told him smokily and touched the tip of his nose. "I have two preys now. How do you want me to let go of them?"

"I am a better prey than my sister so let me go. I will cut off my neck and hers and you will end up losing the both of us. This offer is the best for you, you either lose one prey or lose the two of us." he threatened even though he didn't meant that.

His boldness was something Ambrosia was beginning to admire. She almost laughed at his stupidity for thinking she will care if his sister or him dies. She would make him a vampire and bring him back to life and his sister would rot in hell.

She moved away a bit and raised a corner of her lips. "I will let her go..... But there must be a payment. I am a business woman, you know."

"What is that payment?"

"Smart." she leaned closer again. "You are so good and I will want to have more of you," she answered still in her dark smoky voice. "Stay with me and be my pet, then your sister goes."

Darren jaw dropped as she said those words to him. Her pet? She had the nerves to request such thing from him. He looked at his sister and back at the woman. Does he really have a choice? His sister's life was at risk and he promised to do all he could to bring her back home. That was the only way the woman was going to let her go alive.

Sadly, he sighed and stared at her now, hazel eyes, "I accept your condition," he said throaty.

Her empty smile widened, reaching her eyes. "Smart." She placed her two hands on his cheeks. "There is no going back now. I will let my prey go. Staying here wouldn't be for free," she informed making the man to almost knock her off him.

"To stay here, I will take away every memories of you from everyone who knows you. No one will remember who you are or your name. Their memories of you will be your rent." she added.

"You never said anything about rent."

"I am a business woman, remember? My darling pet," she purred.

Darren looked at his sister and looked back at the witch. He would be staying with the woman, that means he won't be able to see his family again. Making them forget all about him would make it less heartbreaking for them. Taking the memories of him from them would be the best.

"Promise me you will take her back home."

"Don't worry." She answered.

He sighed deeply and lowered his head, "Fine, go ahead."

"Very well," she said and before he could lift up his face again, the sly woman bite his neck. Darren groaned out loud as her fang went deep into him making his blood flow.

His vision became blurry and slowly, he lost consciousness.
