Away from the city, in the woods. A group of vampires were having a bonfire night. The place was filled with cheering, merriments, laughter, with some naked ladies dancing in front of the desirous vampires. The air was filled with the scent of blood mixed with alcohol as they each had a cup of their desired drink.
Right in front of them was a throne made with animal bones and a man occupying it. He held his glass of blood gracefully as he watched the naked ladies with lustful eyes and a wide smile reaching his eyes. The three ladies were more focused on satisfying the vampire lord as they dance sexily to allure him more, which he was falling into. The lord isn't like the typical vampires they know, his shirtless self was one they wish to satisfy. The ladies were vampires too, belonging to the third rank and they work in bars as harlots to the humans.
There are five ranks of the vampires, from the weakest to the strongest. Each more stronger than the other.
The lowest are the first rank. They are the newly turned vampires who are the weakest and uncontrollable. Their hunger for human blood are uncontrollable, but they don't possess an ability yet.
The next are the second rank. They are the vampires who are gradually accepting their new self but still don't have control over their blood thirst. They develop new abilities too.
The next vampires are the third rank. They are the vampires who have mastered their hunger and thirst for blood and have learned to live with their new life having well known their new abilities.
The next vampires are the fourth rank. They are the completely turned vampires and can also turn other humans into vampires.
Then the final rank are the fifth rank. They are the vampires who have armies of turned vampires under their command.
There are six elites men of Ambrosia who are above the five hierarchy, and next in command after Ambrosia. They were the first set of vampires to be turned by her.
Just when the party was getting merrier, someone landed in front of the fire, looking at the group leader angrily.
The ladies stopped dancing and the music stopped as they were wondering why someone, who they were sure was a vampire, would interrupt the party of the most feared fourth ranked vampire. The nerves of the vampire.
Ramin, the leader of the group looked back at the man with a raised brow and his face contorted in anger.
"Who dares interrupt my party?" he asked as his hunger for a blood fight rose. The intruder would have to pay dearly for standing in front of him fearlessly.
He stood up and with the speed of a lightning, he ran to the vampire to give him a surprise blow but he ended up being surprised as the vampire caught his hand even before he punched his face and twisted it causing a small yelp from him. He never expected the vampire to counter his attack.
Only a fourth or fifth rank could be fast enough to stop an attack but the man had no one beside him and he could tell that by the scent. The air only smell of blood, alcohol and fresh leaves. Not even the man scent..... He wasn't perceiving the scent of the vampire.
His eyes widened in realization but before he could react to it, the man threw him to the ground and twisted his hand again.
Ramin let out a loud scream, "Forgive me lord Edwin....." he cried.
Of course, who else would be able to hide his scent and move at such great speed? Who else could see an attack even before it gets to him?
"I didn't recognize you sir...." he cried out more begging to be pardoned.
Edwin is no one to be messed with as he is one of the elites of Ambrosia. The closest to her. If any ranked vampire does something to go against him, they wouldn't get to see the breaking of the day.
Edwin let go of his hand and immediately, Ramin bowed to him followed by the vampires present.
Who haven't heard of the elites men of the vampire queen? lord Robert, lady Lucinda, lady Julia, lord Raul and lastly, lord Edwin..... They knew better than to show him no respect.
"Alcohol, blood, naked women and party. Amby is still out there and you dare enjoy all this?" Edwin questioned flatly. Ramin shook slightly but dared not lift his head. "You were given an instruction to be her guide. You were chosen because you are one of the best fourth rank and you are reliable, but you failed your duty by partying while she was still outside her house," he raised his voice.
"I...I am... sssorry my lord. I.....I....sent some men.....to.....watch her," he stuttered, scared of his life that moment. Edwin was out of town and no one knew he was back. He was caught and might be killed for failing his duty.
"Sent some men? I sensed no vampire anywhere near her to protect her," he kicked his hand, "If anything happens to her, you will have Ambrosia to contend with and you know what that means?"
Who would dare to fight the legendary vampire queen who created them? No one knew where she was and no one has seen her except the elites, but just her name could cause trouble among the vampires. The stories about her are terrifying.
"I dare not contend with Ambrosia.....," he replied shaking visibly. "Forgive me lord Edwin, I was carried away from my duty and I deserve death. I sent some incompetence fools to protect her when it would have being me, but I decided to party and sleep around. Forgive me and grant me a new chance, I wouldn't forsake my duty even for a minute," he pleaded.
Edwin stared at the vampire without a word. Ramin was one of the strongest fourth rank and had been a vampire for fifty years. He is the only vampire he could trust and that was why he made him take care of Amby.
No one know about her being the second personality of Ambrosia and that was why the witches never attacked her. But he made sure she was protected if they ever find out and try to kill her so to kill Ambrosia. He wasn't ready for that, he wasn't ready to lose his sisters.
He looked at the pleading vampire and sighed lowly, "Just this chance. If you fail again, I am not going to think twice before I kill you and every vampires that follow you. Your loved ones will also be involved. This is the last warning I am giving to you." he said dryly and went away in a flash of lightning.
Ramin looked up and when he saw the elite gone, he breathed in relief. He looked at his followers who were staring at him and shouted at them.
"Don't stand there staring at me, jackasses. Let's go do our duty," he yelled at them and they all picked up their belongings hurriedly, to obey their master.
