Darren managed to stand up but his body still hurt him from the fall. He tried to go again but this time he got caught in an invisible web. There was an invisible wall blocking his way and he could feel it because of the dark fire like smoke emanating from his body.
His felt his whole body on fire. Like he was thrown into a burning furnace that was burning him and creating an immense pain in him. He struggled to come out with all his strength and screamed out loudly. His eyes turned golden as the hold on him slowly dispersed. He fell to the ground and everything went back to normal like it never happened.
There surely was something stopping him from leaving. His face hardened as the thought of who was responsible came to his mind. The only one who is capable of doing it is Ambrosia. He tightened his knuckles and stomped back into the forest.
This time, he was able to go back to the castle without much hassle as it was before. He went into the castle but it was still empty. Her presence wasn't felt at all in the building. She wasn't back yet or maybe she locked up herself in the castle. She has to explain everything that is happening to him and why he have suddenly started hearing loud voices in his head that talks to him and whatever it says happens.
....
Just as quick as the day came, the night drew in and the silver-white moon came out shining in it's glory emanating a silvery light to the sky and the earth. The moon hung on the sky behind the dark castle. The sounds of nocturnal birds and howling animals were loud in the forest giving the surrounding an eerie feeling.
The vampire queen appeared in front of the castle door and opened the door. The loud cracking sound of the opened door was accompanied by a gush of wind giving the large room a chilly atmosphere. She slowly, and gracefully walked in accompanied by her powerful aura. The aura her enemies hated so much. The door closed back with a loud bang as she walked further towards the stairs. Just when she was standing by it, she stopped and her face went blank. Her eyes were fixed on the shirtless man staring back at her, eye-to-eye. Beside him was a black cat meowing at her.
His countenance was dark, almost matching with hers and his eyes was somewhat smoky. The moonlight shining through the window gave her a view of him and her keen sight gave her a better view. His damp hair fell across his forehead stopping at his eye level. His perfectly curved jaw gave his face the perfect sexy look, coupled with his straight nose and grey eyes.
He stood up and the shirt he hung on his shoulder fell to the floor. Ambrosia eyes fell on his chiseled chest and she found her self not looking away instead her eyes went further, examining his alluring body. A tattoo of a scorpion tail was drawn to his abs and the complete drawing was at his back. A large fire was drawn at the top of the tail tip. Ambrosia was surprised at the creation in front of her, like a demigod sent down from a kingdom from another part of the earth.
Darren walked down the stairs until he was a step away from her, his eyes never leaving her. The atmosphere between then was dark that anyone who steps in-between will feel the darkness to their bone. Unlike him, he wasn't smiling at all but had a straight blank face. The vampire queen this time had reached her limit. Now he was regretted signing a deal with her. A deal which isn't signed on paper but signed permanently on his body.
He figured it out, he figured it all out. When he had gone to take his bath in one of the empty room bathroom, he mistakenly touched his neck and the same pain he felt while trying to leave was the same that enveloped his hand. He suddenly remembered how she bite his neck when he accepted the deal and then he went unconscious.
The bite was her sign. The sign that will keep their deal sealed. He wasn't a fool not to understand everything she did. Giving a sign on his neck as evidence of their deal was too much and she went to far by doing that.
"Little lady, didn't your mama told you not to sign a deal by biting someone's neck and giving them a mark they never desire?" he asked in a husky voice. The black cat that was lying peacefully meowed and lay beside his feet. The black wild cat happened to have entered the castle and suddenly laid beside him when he was seating on the stairs. He wanted to drive him out but the cat wasn't ready to leave yet. He ignored the stray cat because he only wanted to see Ambrosia at that moment and make her explain herself.
"Where is my sister?" he asked in a tight voice.
Ambrosia looked at the cat and looked back at Darren who eyes were still fixed on her. The man amazes all the time. He surely is bold. He surely haven't heard about her and would definitely fall to his feet when he does. She wasn't ready for his night drama. She did not say a word, and walked pass him.
Darren face hardened when she walked pass him. He turned abruptly and wanted to hold her hand, but this time, she sensed it and was faster than he was. She got hold of his neck and with a sonic speed, they came down from stairs and she pinned him to the wall with her fingers tightened on his neck.
He wasn't expecting her to in turn attack him and strangle him. Her face was pale and her eyes red. Black veins throbbed in her neck.
