Chapter 1 - Arrival

A large thunder like thump could be heard. The ground being nothing but ashes and dirt, smoke surrounding a large figure walking through the field, a smaller one being on top of it's head. A boy with short dark hair, half of his face covered in scars. "Don't you see, Aza?! This is what you created!" Yelled the figure to another forming from the thick fog and smoke, exposing a brown haired man wearing a marine outfit covered in blood and dust. "Damn you, Dawn!" Aza yelled back, using his cut off arm to point at him with a psychotic grin across his pale face. The two large figures charged at each other with the two humans hanging on. This, was war.

The sun and the inside of a car could the boy only see. Plugged ears with a wind of cars passing by could he hear. Often a toddler would cry, cry for no reason. Dawn? No. He wasn't like the others. Even his parents thought so. All he did right at that moment, is just watch. Watch as life passes by, not knowing the true dangers of the world. Of what it could do.

"Hurry, hurry!" A woman's voice rung through Dawn's ear, causing him to look up. His mother, Beth, was a strange one. She would be quiet one moment, and the next she would act like a child. Dawn couldn't help but wonder, "what is wrong with her?". Although, Beth was a beautiful woman. Having long and silky brown hair, nice curves, and beautiful pale grey eyes. "Looks out way the smart." Beth would put it every time Dawn's family would call her, "not a nice word." Of course, Dawn didn't know what those words were, only when he said it would he know.

"I know, I know! Damn woman, leave me be!" Snapped a man's voice. Dawn looked very similar to John, even at 2 years old. Luckily, he didn't have his temper. John was a good looking man. He had short black hair, 6'7, and had a toned muscular body. When you look at him for the first time, it would look like he's a bouncer or a bodyguard. When really, he was a construction worker. For a 40 year old man, he was smart. John could easily figure out blueprints and math equations. "He's the brains of the family." John's grandmother would always tell Dawn, especially when John and Beth were arguing.

Dawn looked straight ahead from his carrier, sucking on his thumb out of anxiety. The house looked large with his height, like a castle. But for the two adults? It was small. Smaller than they wanted. "It'll do," Said Beth, following John inside the house. "We're only going to be here for 8 weeks, right?" Beth asked John, setting Dawn down by a covered couch. "Of course, then we will move to the mansion." John told the two, even if he believed Dawn couldn't understand the two. Dawn watched as John wrapped his arms around Beth's waist, the sound of talking slowly being zoned out. Dawn felt his eyelids get heavy, him slowly falling into a deep slumber.

The baby felt warmth around his head, having the feeling of hands holding him. It didn't feel like his parents. It felt..dark, yet bright. A light could be seen through the darkness, like a firefly in a pitch black sky. At the moment, Dawn could just wait. Wait and see what his future holds.
