4 years had flown by pretty fast and lots of things had happened. Drew was 5 years old and was capable of understanding complex theories. He loved reading as he found everything interesting.
Who would not be interested when they came to a new world where things that existed in fantasy stories only existed?
The old man attributed it to a child's curiosity. He would often find Drew either training doing some weird martial arts he had never seen before or sitting on the tree overlooking the town reading one of his books. He would often forget to come inside and would just eat a fruit from the tree. The fruit was sweet, no that would be an understatement. The fruits produced from this tree packed a powerful punch. It was an explosion of flavours.
The old man would sometimes find Drew in his study mixing some ingredients in a pot. He forbid Drew from going in there without his presence. He allowed Drew to watch him when he was mixing potions and would sometimes guide him into making a potion with him.
Drew's stats had also increased since he first received the system. It now looked like this.

His rate of growth was slow in his opinion but it was impressive. For those five years Drew had not seen another person besides the old man. His only company was the old man, the golem (which he found out was not a robot.) and the tree.
One day as Drew overlooked the town he saw the old man coming back holding a leather bag. He was dressed up neatly and was wearing a full body garment. He called for Drew who came rushing over.
"Go get dressed, I will take you to see the town today." he said.
"The town? I get to see it?"
"Yes, now go get dressed or do you not want to see the town."
"No, I'll go get dressed." Drew quickly went back into the small hut and got dressed. He also wore a beautiful black full body garment.
Drew held on to the old man's hands and walked with him. He skipped in glee as he could not contain his joy.
When they reached the town Drew was disappointed because it was the same as the bustling streets he grew up on but it was still interesting. Drew stared at horses pulling a carriage as he had never seen a horse before. He did see it in movies and comic books but seeing one in real life felt different.
The old man pulled drew into a store. The bell on the door clanged with their entry and Drew looked around the shop.
There were small boxes stacked against each other like they were those vault boxes in high security banks. A woman stood up from the counter and Drew could not tell whether she was sleeping on the floor or had been sweeping the floor.
Her hair was black and in terrible shape as they stood up. It was as if static electricity was holding them up but Drew knew better. She yawned and stretched her arms exposing her belly button and smooth armpits. The woman wore a vest and baggy trousers. She covered her mouth and let out a loud burp. Drew could smell the alchol from a distance and winced as soon as it hit his nose.
The lady noticed him and leaned over the counter. "And who is this little cutie Milla?" she asked. Her voice sounded like it was cracking but for some reason Drew liked it.
"This is my son, the one I was telling you about." The old man named Milla replied.
"Is that so?" the lady stared at Drew and smiled and for some reason Drew felt his body moved on it's own and hide behind Old man Milla's feet. He blushed and poked out his head to see her smiling at him.
"He is quite shy." The woman commented.
"It's his first time into town but he is actually doing well not getting lost and adapting." the old man chuckled.
The woman reached beneath the counter and pulled out a gourd. "What can I do for you then?" She asked old man Milla. She popped the cork of the gourd and took a swig of the booze.
Old man Milla started explaining. "Well today, it's actually not for me. I need some equipment for my son."
"Equipment? At this age?" The lady asked as she made a confused look.
"Yes, you see Drew here is somewhat of genius." The old man said proudly as he puffed out his chest.
The lady stared at Drew who was still hiding behind old man Milla's feet and poking his head out. She smiled at him. "So your name is Drew, mine is Laura but you can call me auntie." She said as she held out her hand for him. She patiently waited and smiled brightly until Drew had enough courage to walk up to her and shake her hand.
"Well he certainly doesn't have the personality of a genius... which is a good thing." she quickly added.
"Of course, do you honestly think my son would have arrogance the size of a mountain just because he is a genius? He is not like those stuck up brats from the city." the old man's voice was louder than usual and he was smiling so widely that it felt like creepy.
"Okay grandpa chill and take your medicine. Tell me what it is that you need."
"I need a wand, a basic light weight gorgon armour and several books."
"A wand? Is he capable of magic?"
"Yes of course, I told you he was a genius. Drew show her your metal bend- I mean your metal magic."
Drew held his hands together and looked at the two adults in front of him. He was feeling comfortable around the old man but for some reason he was nervous around the woman. 'Is this love?' Drew asked himself. He had never felt such a thing in his past life so he was not sure what it was. All he knew was that his heart was fluttering wildly.
He raised his hand and pointed at a small metal pipe that lay in the corner of the overcrowded shop.
He waved his hand and the metal pipe moved around in the direction he willed as he waved his arms. He spun it for quite a while before he raised his other hand. The metal pipe split into two as it was pulled by force.
Drew moved them for quite a bit before letting go of them as they fell to the floor. He held his knees and took a deep breath as he felt tired after depleting his mana pool.
Normally he would not feel tired but having split the metal pipe into two increased his workforce. The only reason he did that was to impress the lady but he felt like he bit more than he could chew.
"Impressive." Laura said as she whistled. She took a swig of the gourd and smiled at Drew who once again blushed and turned his head so that she could not see his face.
"SEE I TOLD YOU LAURA, MY SON IS A GENI-" Old man Milla's booming voice was cut of when Laura chucked a peanut into his mouth. He choked on it for quite a while before spitting it out.
"I told you to keep quite. Anyways..." Laura opened the the door to the counter and gestured for Drew. "Come let's pick you out a wand." She said as she held out her hand.
