Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: Female Blood

The chosen one—from the day of their birth—by goddess Selena. Born with human parents and is pretty much a normal person till their sweet 16th. They start to manifest some characteristics a Female Blood would have that rapidly changes them internally.

This causes them pain by the sudden changes while on the positive side, they can use supernatural abilities that ordinary humans don't possess. The birthmark rosebud shape which specifically appears on the left side of their neck ever since they were born is proof that they are the chosen ones.

By the time they fully acknowledge their destined partner, the birthmark will be in full bloom with a letter indicating their partner's clan and that they are one of them. Such rare blood kept the vampires, hunters, and lycans in a 'friend-&-foe' situation.

From what Hans's master told him the vampire, hunter, and lycan had a long-battled history. Even after the war ended and truces were made, some members and family branches of their clan contradict this matter and are unable to forgive one another. Thinking that they don't need to be friendly with those who aren't part of their clan.

To avoid any further misconceptions, they decided to make a contract that they should not associate with each other again. They all separated ways but would only be in contact with each other if needed.

Goddess Selena first made humans as her loving beings. Soon, she decided to create vampires, hunters, and lycans but due to their wrong doings it affected humankind. And because of what they did, goddess Selena felt anguish which soon turned to wrath and punished them extensively. Her anger made her create a disease that affected the three clan's women who supposedly produce them offspring.

The three clan's women went extinct and slowly their kind began to decrease in number. Hundreds of years of punishment, despair, and sorrow filled the three clans. However, due to her love for her creations, she knew that she couldn't abandon them for too long.

Goddess Selena decided to make a rare creature called Female Blood. Their rareness made the three clans feel like it was a curse but at the same time a blessing because some Female Bloods cannot accept their fate with such sudden changes in their lives.

It takes a lot of effort and patience for them to fully accept what they were meant for but knowing that they couldn't go against fate with how bonded they are to their destined ones, made others accept it without a say.

Hans's mind wandered off, 'Why would goddess Selena go through all such troublesome problems? Why won't she just make every creation of hers go extinct then? Or is she just a troublemaker and a problem lover like my master?'

After he thought of his last question, his master's enthusiastic face suddenly pops out of his mind without his consent. It made him so annoyed at some point that he brushed off all those curiosities from his thoughts.

Head Benjamin drove themselves and arrived at where the Female Blood lived. He parked the car, enough to be able to spot the Female Blood. Head Benjamin took the folder that Hans had been holding and read the Female Blood's information.

"18? How cruel." He commented.

They waited for about 30 minutes until it started to annoy Head Benjamin.

"Where is she?!" He groaned in complaint.

The Female Blood suddenly showed up at the other side of the road, carrying some goods from the market. The wind soothes her hair, as she placed a portion of it at the back of her ear. The moment her mark appeared at their sight; Head Benjamin's eyes turned purple.

Hans slightly glanced to see his reaction; however, it turned out to be an unexpected event that widened Hans's eyes from the shock. Who would have thought in this mission, will Head Benjamin finally find his pair?

The Female Blood noticed that the mark in her neck was slightly revealed, so she quickly hid it with her hair and walked fast to avoid people from seeing it. When she passed by some nasty guys who were looking at her maliciously, Head Benjamin clenched the steering wheels. He looked so mad and was about to get out of the car. Hans immediately stops him from doing whatever he plans to do.

"Where do you think you're going?" Hans asked, didn't even bother to look at him since he was busy not to lose sight of the Female Blood.

"Are you going to stop me?" Head Benjamin asked back with a challenging tone.

Thus, Hans did the same, "The Female Blood is our top priority. Knowing she is your pair; means we have to be extra careful. Remember, it's Dir. Melvis's words against yours."

This time Hans stared back at him; he knew that if he backs down now it would only cause him more problems. Head Benjamin may hate the weak humans and Female Blood but that doesn't mean he disrespects them. Nope, not him.

They both stared at each other for a minute or two. When they realized about the Female Blood, they were already too late.

"I thought you were watching her closely!" Head Benjamin fumed out his anger when the Female Blood vanished like a thin air.

Then Hans asked him back monotonously, "Weren't you keeping an eye on her too?"

They both went out of the car and searched for her. "It's your job!" Head Benjamin said and Hans retorted back, "It's OUR job."

Guilty Head Benjamin groaned in defeat, so they continued searching for her. The Head noticed the Female Blood was forcibly grabbed by a man with a hood on his head, down the dark alley. He ran as fast as he could whilst Hans followed him. As soon as they arrived, they saw the man in a hoodie harshly clutched her neck and was elevated from the ground as she struggled for help.

When she noticed Head Benjamin and Hans she reached out for her hand, "H-help me."

It was her last words before she fainted. Anger filled Head Benjamin seeing her in a pitiful state, he grew twice and ran towards the hooded guy. He punched him with all his might. A loud bang from his fist and a huge crack on the wall can be seen from where he landed.

Hans ran towards the Female Blood who fell from man's hold, he checked on her to see if she was still breathing. Luckily, she just fell unconscious. Head Benjamin lunged at the hooded man and continued to punch him. The man was already bleeding and unconscious, even his face can barely be recognized.

Hans shouted, "Stop it, Head Benjamin!"

But Head Benjamin was too blinded by his anger that he went berserk. Unfortunately, Hans is not someone who can keep a king gorilla out of control.

The Female Blood slightly gained consciousness and tried to stop him. "Ur-urgh… s-stop."

With every last strength she can muster, it didn't stop her from stopping him. Head Benjamin was able to control himself, he groaned and vaguely saw the man's state. He went to where the Female Blood was and asked her if she was alright then she gave out a small smile to relieve his savior's worries.

Hans left them to check the unconscious man. His mask was about to fall off of his face, so he took off the mask to see. Horror filled Hans's face when he confirmed who the man was.

He quickly ran towards the pair, "Let's go."

He said nervously to the Head while checking his surroundings to see if anyone was there aside from them.

Head Benjamin asked him in confusion, "Why? What's wrong?"

"Just go!" he yelled out of frustration.

Hans' action made Head Benjamin annoyed but decided to brush it off since his pair is safe. He saw Hans being frustrated, that is…which he rarely sees, means he had done something horrible.

They rushed and immediately went inside the car, with the Head and the Female Blood at the back seat. Hans took the key from Head Benjamin and started the engine. He blasted almost in full speed; Head Benjamin held his pair tightly but was also careful not to hurt her.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Head Benjamin asked him furiously.

But no Hans answered his question and continued to drive dangerously as if he was being chased by someone. Alas, Head Benjamin exploded, "SLOW DOWN, YOU DIPSHIT! THE GIRL WILL GET HURT!" which made Hans snap back to reality that he accidentally stepped on the brake and fortunately, no one got hurt.

"What is wrong with you?!" Head Benjamin asked.

"Sorry." Hans apologized.

Head Benjamin was about to say something but when he saw him trembled and was so agitated, he chose to stay silent. He then offered to drive the car instead, so Hans could use the time to calm down. He drove them back and arrived almost late in the afternoon. Head Benjamin carried his sleeping pair inside the mansion and let her rest in the guest room.

After half a minute, someone knocked on the door. When it opened, revealing a man wearing his lab coat. "My, my, someone looks troubled," Jasper asserted his statement. They both bowed down in respect to the son of the Director.

SA-Jasper Harlow: Shield, Apothecary and Healer

Head Kelly's nephew/apprentice and son of Dir. Melvis Harlow. Russian features, light brown hair which he inherited from his father and jade eyes from his mother. He is an 18-year-old special agent. His shielding ability is the same as his father but he didn't inherit his father's strategic ability, instead his mother's apothecary and healing ability.

"Greetings, Young Master." Head Benjamin and Hans greeted with respect in unison.

Jasper then waved, "Now, now, no need for that. I'll check on her then."

Upon checking up on the Female Blood he concluded, ''She'll be alright, she needs some rest and her bruises will eventually disappear. Just follow the instructions I gave you. However, you need to be extra careful when she wakes up. Don't! Don't say or do anything that might scare her, she might not be mentally prepared for it."

Jasper went to Hans, since the only reason he offered to do the job was to see Hans.

"You don't look surprised. Don't you miss me?" he asked but Hans shook his head.

"I am surprised and no. I don't miss you, Young Master." He replied.

"Ouch! That hurt my feelings. But hmm... You don't look like one." He playfully acted as if he was hurt.

They both stared at each other for a few seconds until Hans decided to excuse himself to go back to his office. Head Benjamin stopped Hans from his track to go with him. He then excused himself to Jasper and left his pair in young master's care. Jasper nodded and smiled then waved them farewell.

Silence filled the hallway; it was a bit awkward for them to say anything. Meanwhile, few hunters passed by and greeted Head Benjamin and Hans with respect. When they were about to separate their ways to their office, Head Benjamin's curiosity betrayed him.

He asked, "Who was that guy anyway?"

Hans didn't give himself a second thought and told him the truth since he was the cause of this whole mess.

"A vampire… You beat a vampire, Head Benjamin."

Head Benjamin was lost of words from what he heard. This was a big mistake!

A big mistake to mess with the vampires!

Back in the dark alley—that night—a few men wearing black suits, found a dead vampire. He was completely beaten and can no longer be recognized. The men in black suits gave way to an ash-silver headed man, wearing a light grey turtleneck then over it with a dark blue suit and pants. He stared at the dead vampire then he commanded his men.

"Bring him back to the villa."

"Yes, Your Highness." They replied in unison.

After he commanded them, he turned his way back to the car just as his eyes glowed to red. The moment the sun sets, the silver dazzling moon rises up to the sky. Slowly, the moon and sky turned red as it eradicated the unpleasant night and slowly succumbed to the darkness.
