Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: The Brothers

When the vampires were welcomed by Dir. Melvis. The Emperor responded to him again sarcastically, "How welcoming."

Emperor-Charles Martin Adonis: Mind Telepathy and Strength & Manipulation

Wearing a black long-sleeved polo underneath, with a black necktie, and red velvety suit and pants. Showing off his prideful appearance. Ocean blue eyes, pale skin, and silver hair—is the eldest son (46-year-old) between the Adonis brothers.

His mind telepathy ability can connect and communicate to his subjects. The people connected to his mind allow them to connect to another as well. Simple as it is, but never underestimate an Emperor's ability for he knows his way to conquer the world.

Grand Duke-Arthur Skyler Adonis: Vision and Strength & Manipulation

Who was beside the Emperor and the youngest (28-year-old) son of the Adonis brothers. Wearing a black turtleneck and over it with a light gray woolen blazer, below is slim tattered jeans and converse shoes. Ocean blue eyes and ash-silver hair compliments his handsomeness.

His vision ability can see the past and future of the person. As long as he holds the object that the person's once held or if that person is with him. His ability can also let that person see his own past and future.

Their strength and manipulation ability were inherited from their ancestors; they can be as strong as Head Benjamin or even stronger. Also, the Emperor and the Grand Duke together makes it even stronger. That is why it never occurred to the hunters to engage themselves with the vampires.

The Adonis Brothers are both known and famous in the human as well as the supernatural world. Their influence scattered globally that it would be a shocking experience not knowing them. Although, humans were unaware of such 'supernatural creatures.' They always thought that they were legends or they only exist in books.

"So shall we start? But before that…I sincerely apologize, Your Highness."

Dir. Melvis said to Emperor Charles at the same time he leaned a bit forward then crossed his fingers as he rested his elbow on the armrest.

"What my subordinate did to one of your people was truly unforgivable. I assure you that I had already talked to him about this matter and this will not happen again." He added and went to his seat.

"I apologize as well for what my people did to YOUR Female Blood. However, I see she is well and alive while mine is resting in peace. Will an apology be enough for the death of my subject, Dir. Harlow?" Emperor Charles expressed his disappointment and disgust of the situation.

"I hope an apology is not what we are here for." He added as he crossed his legs and leaned his back. He glanced at Head Benjamin, who was silently trying to calm his pair from the tension.

Dir. Melvis widely opened his arms and said, "And that is why we are here. To avoid more conflicts, let's just say… we want to settle this matter with a new contract."

One of the special agents handed the contract over to one of the secretaries then to the Emperor. After the Emperor read the content that was written in the contract.

"So, you think that this will cover up your mistakes, Dir. Harlow?" he asked as he raised the contract and gave Dir. Melvis an evil smirk.

The hunters knew that the meeting wouldn't be easy, especially when they were talking to the Emperor himself. Dir. Melvis predicted this to happen, he and Hans knew from the start that this was a gamble to begin with. Vampires are hard to please, at the same time, vicious. However, Dir. Melvis had no choice but to push through this contract. He'll try as much as possible to convince them without turning this meeting into their disadvantage.

"I heard… that your clan is having a hard time searching for Female Bloods. If we work together, then wouldn't it be easier for both clans to find one?" he said.

"You are most well informed. I guess there is nothing you, Hunters, don't know about us. However, are you underestimating us, Dir. Harlow?" Emperor Charles commented.

"Oh-ho… I am pleased from your compliment, Your Highness. And I would never underestimate you, Vampires. We just wanted to offer our help, in return for what we've done." Dir. Melvis assured the Emperor. He then gestured his hand while giving a small smirk.

"Not to mention, our tracker is quite talented. He can fulfill what you desired the most and that is…your bond." Dir. Melvis proudly told them about Hans, being their talented tracker.

"It seems to me that your tracker of yours is very special to you, Hunters." Emperor Charles slightly grinned as he leaned his face on his dorsal palm.

"Very precious. But I will have to excuse him since he is a bit of a shy person," Dir. Melvis excused Hans to the vampires, knowing he's a human.

"Oh, is he?" Arthur, the Grand Duke, questioned as his eyes turned red and slightly smirked.

The hunters didn't notice that he was already holding the contract and used his ability to see Hans's past. The Emperor just stared at them, knowing that they were just making excuses. During the talk of Dir. Melvis and Emperor Charles, the Grand Duke, were already using his vision to see what really happened before they (the hunters) got into the conclusion of making the contract.

The Heads stood up, readied their weapons to fight along with the special agents while Head Benjamin hid his pair behind him. The bodyguards surrounded the two royals whilst being on guard for the battle that is about to happen.

Head Benjamin made sure Hans would spill what he really came for. Hans decided to inform him without meeting his gaze, "You need to attend the meeting but I won't be there during the meeting."

Head Benjamin didn't respond, so he continued, "But the girl will need to present herself in the meeting three days from now."

Upon hearing what Hans said, Head Benjamin's rage rises, "She'll what?!" he angrily whispered to him.

Hans expected this to happen, he knew that the vampires were someone who you can't easily trust. However, Hans has no choice because his master told him so.

"What the heck came into your mind that I should let them see her?!" Head Benjamin hissed.

It's not that Head Benjamin is afraid of them; he could literally kill them if he had a chance to. But what he's uneasy about is that his pair would be there and he's not sure if she's ready to face this harsh and dangerous world they live in.

"It's Master's order," Hans said, which made Head Benjamin cursed.

"Tsk, damn it."

Head Benjamin was confused as to why Dir. Melvis allows this and why Hans wouldn't be there. He then watched his pair's sleeping face. After giving it some thought, "What's the plan?"

He asked as he met Hans's gaze, waiting for him to give instructions. Hans took this opportunity to tell Head Benjamin about the plan.

"If you think that things will start to get out of hand, make sure to hand her over to Sheryl. Don't worry about you getting caught in the fight. The moment she's in Sheryl's care, few special agents will be in the hidden exit to assist them. One agent will immediately notify me and we will hide her in the basement of the tower next to the mansion, while waiting for you and the other Heads."

He paused for a minute then he continued, "We will try to hold their reinforcement so they won't be able to go anywhere near her. However, you have to make it there because you're the only one who can protect her. We don't know how long we'll be able to hold them off. But…we'll protect her and she'll wait for you there."

Hans reminisced the time he instructed Head Benjamin about the plan. He waited inside his office; he tried to distract himself with some paperwork and reading some reports from his subordinates under him. Two female agents went inside his office and informed him that Dir. Melvis wanted him in the meeting hall.

He stood up then rushed their way to the meeting hall. He knew that this was a gamble and a dangerous meeting and yet, he didn't expect this to happen so fast.

They ran from room-to-room and floor-to-floor till they reached the 5th floor. They used the hidden exit instead of the main corridor to avoid engaging themselves to the vampires.

The side corridor was made of thick walls with some tinted glass, separating the main hallway and the hidden exit as a barrier of escape.

The vampires walked out of the meeting hall with victory plastered on their faces. The moment they clashed between the walls, for a brief second, the Grand Duke's eyes turned red as he felt a familiar presence.

He stopped and looked around to see if there were hunters other than the two who escorted them out of the mansion. But there was none; he decided to shrug it off and left together with his brother as they welcomed themselves with victory.
