Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6: Welcome Guests

When Head Benjamin heard Hans's proposal, he immediately gripped him by his shirt's collar as he stared at him with rage and disappointment.

"What?! Are you crazy? We all know that we can't do that! You know that we are not allowed to associate ourselves with them. That was the contract our ancestors agreed upon!" he yelled at him without holding back.

"But that's what they wanted! They want to multiply themselves! Especially when one of the royals, who until now hasn't found his fated bond!" Hans couldn't hold his anger and finally yelled at him.

"Wouldn't that benefit the both clans?! If you had just controlled your temper, then maybe you wouldn't have gone berserk and killed that vampire! And maybe we're not in this situation now!" Hans gave his final resort.

Head Benjamin couldn't say anything knowing that Hans was right. Also, it was definitely the first time he saw Hans show his emotion ever since he got here. All he thought of was that Hans must be some kind of a robot with how emotionless he is; Head Benjamin forgot that Hans is still a human.

Head Benjamin gently removed his hand, "Tsk!"

He avoided his gaze and clenched his fist because he was mad at himself for gtroubling Dir. Melvis and the clan. When Dir. Melvis heard the content of the contract, he couldn't help but agree to Hans. They both thought the same solution which frustrates him somehow.

'Hmm… Shall I start a plan of departing him far away for a mission?' He thought to himself as he smiled at Hans.

'Arghhhh…I don't know what to do with him anymore, who keeps stealing my plans and spotlight!' Dir. Melvis frustratingly jumbled his hair then slammed the table.

"We'll go through Hans' plan," he said, looking gloomy as smoke went out from his nose.

"I'll schedule the meeting. In three days, we'll welcome them as our guest." He added.

Hans didn't bother to say anything because for sure his master will start acting like a spoiled brat. While Head Benjamin was left dumbfounded with the whole situation. Dir. Melvis immediately wrote the letter and ordered one of the agents to send it to the vampire clan.

Until the response arrives, Dir. Melvis dismissed them. Head Benjamin invited Hans to come and see the Female Blood but Hans refused since he had some things to do. Head Benjamin then went ahead, when Hans was also about to leave but Dir. Melvis called out his name.

"Hans," Dir. Melvis said.

Then he continued, "There's still something I need to discuss with you."

His face became stern, and so Hans faced him and waited for his orders.

Jasper was sitting at the corner of the guest room, while waiting for Head Benjamin to arrive. He read some medical books as he kept an eye on the Female Blood. Suddenly, someone carefully knocked on the door and Head Benjamin went inside.

"How is she, Young Master?" Head Benjamin asked.

"Won't you ask how am I doing as well?" Jasper asked him back but Head Benjamin didn't reply.

"Just kidding. She's fine and asleep. She'll regain her consciousness by tomorrow," Jasper affirmed.

He stood up then asked where Hans was and Head Benjamin told him that Hans was still at Dir. Melvis's office. Jasper nodded and left.

Half an hour had passed; Hans went inside the guest room then stared at Head Benjamin sitting beside the Female Blood who was stroking her hair and staring at her daringly. When Head Benjamin noticed him, he stopped and avoided his gaze.

"What do you want? I thought you rejected my offer?" Head Benjamin said as he glared at him.

Hans thought to himself, 'It seems that him being a babysitter is not his problem anymore. But his attitude is still the same.'

He went near them and asked how was the Female blood which Head Benjamin reassured that she was fine and all.

Minutes have passed, and yet, Hans hasn't spoken anything. However, Head Benjamin was determined to know Hans's real purpose of visiting them. "Spill it," he ordered Hans as he won't let him go until he says his real intention and Hans knew that.

Three days had passed and today was the day. Every hunter readied themselves upon the arrival of the vampire clan. Dir. Melvis and the rest of the Heads were inside the meeting hall, along with Sheryl and other special agents.

The Female Blood was given a seat beside her pair, she was so nervous and scared, not knowing what to do. Head Benjamin held her hand then he slightly smiled and reassured her that everything will be alright.

The Female Blood was still reluctant towards her fated pair, she nervously smiled at him then avoided his gaze. But still she was somehow thankful, knowing that she now has someone to lean on.

"Wow… cringy," Head Kelly commented.

"Shut it!" Head Benjamin retorted back.

Head Kelly stacked out her tongue as a sign of mockery. And it did, Head Benjamin took the bait and was about to say something. However, the Female Blood tightly held his arm then shook her head while looking down to stop him.

Head Benjamin did as she wanted him to do, but glared at Head Kelly that made her raise her hands as a sign of surrender before he sat back. A few minutes later, an agent went inside the meeting hall and bowed at them as he greeted the Heads.

"The Vampire clan has arrived." The agent announced then he stepped aside as the old-massive door welcomed the vampires in the hall.

Two royals entered with dignified aura together with them were their personal secretaries, along with five guards who wore black suits and pants behind them. The two royals were brothers known as the Adonis Brothers.

"I didn't expect the Emperor, himself, would find time to visit our humble mansion. We, Hunters, are deeply moved by your presence, Your Majesty."

Dir. Melvis sarcastically expresses his gratitude as he leaned his body forward and placed his right hand into his chest while the other was wide open. He noticed that there were no royal guards wearing a red knight coat that he finds insulting.

"However, I see no royal guards with you, Your Majesty. Did they perhaps chicken out on us? I'm surprised." He commented with mockery.

"I am in no need of them, these five guards of mine are just fine. Plus, my brother and I are strong enough against you all." He calmly replied.

The Emperor and his brother sat on the chair given to them while the five guards were behind them. He leaned his face on his dorsal palm and stared at Dir. Melvis, waiting for him to say anything.

"Are you perhaps underestimating us, Emperor?" Dir. Melvis challenged him with a smirk in his face, even though he was certainly annoyed by the Emperor's remarks.

"Is this your traditional way of welcoming your guest, Director Harlow? How welcoming, but if you insist, shall we?" the Emperor welcomed his challenge as he smirked back at him.

The tension rises and rises that makes everyone feel uncomfortable. They were all on their guards, some holding their weapons while waiting for someone to attack first. Dir. Melvis decided to stop this childish act when he noticed his agents got uncomfortable with the tension between them.

"I see. How rude of me." He said.

He then welcomed them with his hands wide open to show some manners towards their guest.

"Welcome, our guest," as he grinned evilly towards the Emperor and the Grand Duke.
