Hans immediately discussed the main point of this meeting. "A week ago, I was able to track down a Female Blood. She lived down the alley. When I tried to follow her, I noticed a man lurking and following wherever she went."
Hans monotonously continued, "I started to gather more information about her and it seems her parents passed away three years ago. She is now—"
"Just get to the point," Head Benjamin cuts him off before he could even finish the details. Hans let out a sigh and went directly to the point.
"I want to request from one of the Heads to complete this mission." He requested.
"And who could that be?" Dir. Melvis asked him with a challenge to answer his question knowing what it would be. Hans became a bit hesitant to answer, thinking this hunter will surely go against his request.
"I request… Head Benjamin to complete this mission." And look at his master with determination that he will fulfill this mission.
Upon hearing his request, everyone froze in confusion. All attention then reverted from Hans to Head Benjamin as he raised his eyebrow and said, "Huh?!"
When they saw Head Benjamin's reaction, Head Asher smiled widely because for sure he will enjoy the chaos that is about to happen. Head Melissa yawned in satisfaction, waiting for him to burst like a volcano with overflowing lava.
The rest just stared at him with interest and unconcern, while Sheryl—frozen—unable to breathe from the tension and silently praying that she would still be alive before this meeting ends.
If one knows how much Head Benjamin hates dealing with fragile humans and Female Bloods, it's Hans himself. However, he has no choice because he is the only person suited for this job.
"HUH?! NO!"
Head Benjamin exclaimed as stood up from his seat then he slammed his fist on the armrest which splits his throne into halves.
"No way, am I going to babysit a weakling! I'm one of the Heads, a fighter! Not some babysitter!"
As Hans expected, he aggressively went against his request.
"We've got no choice. You're the only one suited for this job, Head Benjamin. We don't know if the person who's been following her is even a human. All I can assume is that man might be a threat to her. If the Female Blood happens to be one of the pairs of this clan then it will most probably be lost."
Hans calmly explained the situation that the hunters are into. Hoping that it was enough to convince him, but for a king gorilla to be easily negotiated, is a one in a million absurd future.
"And what's that got to do with me?! How many times do I have to tell you that I don't want to associate myself with a feeble? A weakling is for a weakling, end of discussion!"
Head Benjamin retorted back.
Hans sighed while Head Akito just closed his eyes whereas he listened to the whole conversation. Dir. Melvis did the same but crossed his arms and legs as well. The rest look so interested in the scene caused by Head Benjamin. Soon after, Head Kelly gave her opinion toward the situation.
"Come on, Head Benjamin. It's not like Hans is doing it on purpose. Have you ever seen him half-assed or failed at his work before? He obviously analyzes and is completely aware of the situation. I bet he already calculated the possible outcome, right?"
Head Kelly paused for a moment and glanced at Hans before she gestured her hand. She slightly tilted her head then continued.
"Besides, I think you would be the last person Hans ever wanted to work with. But I guess… he has no choice but to give you half of his cake."
After Head Benjamin heard her utmost remarks, he couldn't help but get even more pissed.
"Huh?! I don't want his cake! You two-faced brat has no right to order me around." He said to Head Kelly with confidence as he closed his eyes and crossed his arms proudly.
"Not her, but them."
Head Audeth reminded Head Benjamin and pointed to the two highest rank hunters among them. Dir. Melvis and Head Akito listened to them passively and waited for them to finish the argument.
Head Akito decided to ask Dir. Melvis, "What do you think, Director?"
As he waited for Dir. Melvis to declare his decision, Dir. Melvis leaned his face at the back of his palm which took him three seconds to analyze the situation. A small smirk appeared on his face then decided to announce his final decision.
"I will grant Hans's request and follow through his plan." He declared.
He stood to make his way out of the meeting hall. Head Akito also did the same and followed Dir. Melvis on his way out. But Head Benjamin finds this whole situation nonsense.
"Wait, what? Director—" Head Benjamin was about to protest but was cut off by Dir. Melvis.
"Is there a problem, Head Benjamin?" Dir. Melvis asked.
"No, but—" Head Benjamin wanted to reason out but then again, he was cut off.
"Are you DOUBTING ME, Head Benjamin?" Dir. Melvis asked with emphasis while giving him a stern look.
"No Director, I have complete trust in you." Head Benjamin said to show his defeat.
"Then there is no need for us to discuss this any further. Meeting adjure."
Dir. Melvis ended the meeting and this time, made his way out of the meeting hall with Head Akito. Everyone bowed down to Dir. Melvis and Head Akito as they watched them out of the room. They all went silent while Sheryl couldn't feel her legs and wanted to run out of the place because of the tension she had been feeling. She whispered to Hans while small sweats started to pour down her face.
"What were you thinking?! Of all the heroes, why him?!"
Unable to hide her frustration, she faced Hans with disbelief. On the contrary, Hans remained calm without a hint of fear which made Sheryl feel annoyed for some reason.
"Head Benjamin is the most suitable for this job." He simply replied.
"What if he goes berserk again?! Didn't you think of that?! You know Head Kelly won't be able to aid you if he ever goes rampage and destroys the whole city!" she reasoned out.
"It's a give and take risk. I had no choice." He explained.
The talk ended when Head Benjamin marched toward Hans then grabbed him by the collar. No one even bothered to stop him since they all knew nothing good comes out when it comes to an angry king gorilla. Hence, going against Hans means going against Dir. Melvis.
"Consider this day, your lucky day. Because the next time you piss me off again? I will surely shred you to pieces."
Head Benjamin felt aggravated by how things turned out as he rashly pushed him but Hans didn't show any distorted emotions. He clenched his jaw then glared at Hans as he walked past him then Hans stood there and tried to fix his clothes.
Sheryl showed a small sympathy for him while the other Heads showed no concern for him at all, except Head Kelly. Head Benjamin stopped from his track and looked back. He noticed that Hans was still fixing his crumpled clothes.
"What are you doing?! Let's go and finish this petty business of yours." He demanded.
He waited for him to follow, and so, Hans did what Head Benjamin demanded without saying anything. Leaving everyone in the room full of excitement and curiosity, while Head Kelly is full of worry and sympathy.
