A young man, at birth, was born special. He was born with ruby red crystal-like eyes. His parents thought they were amazing. Nobody had ever seen those types of eyes before. The fascination soon quelled as he was pronounced blind. The mood in the room instantly turned grim. The hopelessness of his family subsided days later as the boy's vision returned. His parents thought those red eyes could look through their souls. His mother even thought she saw his pupil change while looking at her.
The boy's special eyes would cause him nothing but pain. As a kid, his eyes would bleed uncontrollably. It got so bad that he was forced to wear eye patches. The bleeding stopped, but his eyes never stopped working.
"Mom, how much longer do I have to wear these eyes patches. I will never have friends."
He just had turned seven, and it was around the time his four siblings went to school.
" Orien, you have to wait until we find a cure for your eyes honey."
This was the excuse his parents had used for years. As he had gotten into his teen years, his eyes bleeding had stopped. He could finally enjoy school like the others at his age. Still, his life was difficult. His dog had died a gruesome death. His mother was constantly sick and his siblings hated him. His body got sickly around the time his eyes stopped bleeding. His peers bullied him to the brink of suicide all the way up until graduation.
He had to take out loans for college as his grades were poor. On one fateful day, his life would change for the worst. Orien had just come from his English course to pick up his youngest sister from daycare. As he drove home, he felt agony in his eyes. Blood flowed like a waterfall as he drove through the streets uncontrollably. He caused one of the worst accidents his city had ever seen. An accident where he lost an arm and a sibling.
That is when his life full of despair had begun. He became an alcoholic and his parents disowned him. His siblings hated his guts. He had a place to rest his head, but it was no home. His parents no longer fed him and the family ceased to talk to him after that day.
Orien had given up. His face was stained with tears. He reeked of alcohol. A day that would change his life forever would come. When his school break had come, he decided to study on the school roof. He began to come here to cry without the eyes of others. As he studied, a game-like system popped up in front of his eyes. He slapped himself in disbelief, thinking he was hallucinating because of the eyes he cursed so much. At that moment, he was done with living. His eyes tricking him once more was the final straw.
He walked towards the edge of the roof with a face full of anguish. Tears flowed like a river. As soon as he was about to jump, he heard the voice of a woman.
" Have you finally given in to the despair?"
