She stood still, staring at Matthew's face. "Now it seems I should start thinking about what I would say if you did wake up."
Lily's cell phone suddenly rang while still staring at Matthew's face. She quickly took her cell phone out of her lab coat pocket. She sighed when she saw Ryan's name appear on her cellphone.

Ryan greeted Lily happily when she answered the call. "Am I bothering you?"
"Do you think?" Lily answered by asking Ryan back. "I was in the lab. I have something to do."
Ryan noticed Lily's tone sounded cold. "Oh, looks like I disturbed your focus. Forgive me. I'll call you later."
"Wait—" Lily interrupted.
"Yes?"
"Maybe I won't be available in a few days. I wanted to tell you. So, you don't waste your time trying to contact me," Lily said.
"Okay then," Ryan said. "But if you need someone to talk to, I'll be there whenever you need me."
Lily sighed softly. "Thank you."
"Watch your health. Don't let your job make you sick," Ryan said.

"If I miss you, can I come and see you?" Ryan asked.
Lily asked Ryan back. "Can I stop you from coming to see me?"
"No," Ryan answered quickly.
"Then you don't have to ask about it," said Lily, immediately accompanied by a soft laugh. "Tell me when you want to see me. I'll spare some time for you."
"Thank you. You're so kind, Lily."
"Don't thank me. Thank you for your shirt in my washing machine," Lily said.
Ryan laughed softly. "In that case, okay. I don't want to bother you any longer. It's enough to hear your voice. See you."
"Bye."
Ryan sighed softly after his call with Lily ended. "This woman is driving me crazy," Ryan said with a low laugh.
