"See you later. I expect good news from you," said Mr. Williams to Mr. Graff before leaving the laboratory. His wife had already gotten into the car while he still talking to Mr. Graff.
"I'll do my best, Willy," said Mr. Graff.
Mr. Williams nodded his head. "I trust you. If I didn't believe you, I wouldn't have left Matthew here."
"Thank you for trusting me," said Mr. Graff.
"I was waiting for your good news," Mr. Williams smiled at Mr. Graff and then got into his car.
Mr. Graff took a deep breath when the car carrying Mr. and Mrs. Williams left his laboratory facility. Max, who had been standing behind him, approached Mr. Graff. "What did they say?" Max asked.
"What else? They want to know when we can wake Matthew," said Mr. Graff. Then he walked back into the laboratory.
Max followed Mr. Graff. "Then? What did you say?"
"I can't promise anything yet and ask them to be patient a little longer," said Mr. Graff.
"You didn't tell them about our recent research results?"
Mr. Graff shook his head. "I don't want to give them a blank check. Maybe our latest research looks promising. But we also don't know when the result can apply to humans."
"But we're one step closer," Max said.
"One step closer doesn't mean that it can implement sooner. Unless we want to risk and endanger Matthew," said Mr. Graff.
"I saw your tape last night."
Mr. Graff immediately asked Max. "What do you think?"
"It was close," Max replied.
Mr. Graff nodded his head. "It's so close. I can feel it. We can wake Matthew sooner."
"But it looks like Lily is still having problems," Max interrupted.
"She can find the answer to her problem. The last time I saw the results of her experiments, the serum that she made was able to isolate the cancer cells and destroy them," said Mr. Graff.
Max immediately interrupted. "But Lily's research after the cell is destroyed turned out that the healthy cell around it was also damaged."
"Most importantly, she was able to destroy the cancer cells. She just had to find a way to minimize the damage to the surrounding cells," said Mr. Graff.
Max nodded his head. "I'll be back watching Lily's work."
Mr. Graff suddenly stopped in his tracks. He looked at Max, frowning. "Looks like I didn't see her today."
Max played with his eyeballs. "I didn't see her in the lab either."
"This isn't what she used to be."
Max shrugged. "Maybe she wants to enjoy life outside the laboratory. After all, Lily was no longer the little girl. She is a grown woman. She also has to live her life as a grown woman. Did you ever hear her talk about a man besides Matthew?"
Mr. Graff took a deep breath. He then resumed walking. "She never talked about other men. In her eyes, there is only Matthew." He then laughed softly. "She even spent his youth in this laboratory trying to find a cure for Matthew."

"Are you sure you're not planning to go to New York?" Ryan asked as he was about to say goodbye to Lily.
Lily responded to Ryan's words by shrugging her shoulders. "I do not know."
"If you have time, you can go to New York. I'll accompany you and take you to one of the best restaurants in town," Ryan said.
"Thank you for your offer. But, it seems I don't want to bother you anymore," said Lily.
"I don't feel bothered by you. I enjoy spending time with you. You are different from other women I know."
"Because I'm a nerd?" Lily asked, laughing softly.
Ryan immediately shook his head. "Because you have beautiful eyes. I'm like enchanted by your beautiful eyes."
Lily laughed again after hearing Ryan's words. "What kind of reason is that?"
"Or maybe because I fell in love with you at first sight. Whatever you do and say, everything looks lovely to me," Ryan replied.
Lily cleared her throat. She could feel her cheeks turning red again after hearing Ryan's words. This was the first time she had spent quite a bit of time with a stranger she had just met. And it turns out that spending the weekend with Ryan isn't such a bad idea. "Including when I defile your hotel room?"
Ryan laughed at Lily's words. "I won't hesitate to invite you again."
Lily laughed softly. "I'll think about it."
"Thinking about what?"
"New York."
Ryan's eyes narrowed. "You want to go to New York?"
"I said I'll think about it," Lily replied.
"Let me know whenever you want to go to New York. I'll pick you up at the airport," Ryan said.
Lily nodded her head with a smile. Ryan smiled at Lily too. The two of them laughed together while looking at each other. "I wish I didn't have to go back to New York," Ryan said with a long sigh.
"You should go back." Lily opened Ryan's car door.
Ryan drew closer to Lily. He then kissed Lily on the cheek before he got into his car.
Lily could only be silent when Ryan kissed her cheek. "You know where to look for me. I'm not going anywhere anyway."
Ryan nodded from inside his car. "See you later, Lily."
"Careful," said Lily.
Ryan waved his hand at Lily. After that, the car drove her away from Lily.
Lily smiled when Ryan's car drove away from her. While laughing softly, Lily walked away from the hotel where Ryan was staying.
