Chapter 11 - Art Of Artifact Essence Absorption

"Hey, Horu! Did you...uh by any chance...!" Blake was about ask for some scraps when he was met with a mountain.

A mountain of unknown objects and clothing laid on Horu's table, and each item possessed an indescribable amount of Realm Pressure that when piled on top of each other like that, the Realm Pressure they emitted shook the room ever so slightly.

Each one of these items could be said to be their own realm's greatest and strongest treasure that even their own Realm Masters would be too unwilling to use. That said, Horu was literally tossing these objects around like they were mere toys to him. If any other Realm Master saw this scene, they would immediately die from coughing out too much blood.

"Oh hey, Blake! The Elder Hall of 1008 Ancestral Void Council decided to give you these Realm grade Artifacts as a way of showing thanks for all of the good you did a thousand years back then. You can have all of these since most of these Realm grade Artifacts were kept in the council's storage and weren't being used..." Horu spoke without stopping. "These Artifacts should also be able to aid you in your cultivation if you still remember the Art of Artifact Essence Absorption...Even if you've forgotten, I can teach -"

Blake interjected before Horu could continue, "Long story short, this means I can have it all right?? Sweet! Thanks! Bye!" Blake grabbed all of the table contents and stored them in his Space Box, a low tier Storage Magic spell compared to his usual Space Room spell. "Oh, by the way, breakfast's at 8 am tomorrow, don't be late! Goodnight! "

And with that, Blake rushed back into his room to cultivate.

"Seems like even after his reincarnation, his attitude still hasn't changed," Horu couldn't help but chuckle.

The next day,

"Blake, are you up yet?" Horu yawned as he stood outside of Blake's bedroom groggily. "I'm hungry!"

After not getting any response from his roommate after 10 mins of constant probing, Horu could only sigh before he used a 1/1000 of his full strength to barge into Blake's room. The defensive arrays found in Blake's house can each block a couple hits from Magic Saints and Martial Angels and that there were at least 15 of such Arrays in every room of Blake's house.

It was because of Blake's current low cultivation that he was unable to use any high level spells nor could he refine pills to help aid in his cultivation. But to set up and activate arrays on the other hand, only requires the Array Master to use a small amount of Martial Qi or Mana to activate said Array.

For an Array Master, a dense and large amount of Spiritual Energy paired with having a deep and profound understanding of Runes and Arrays was of course needed in said field. And since Blake had only lost his cultivation after he was reincarnated, his wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of Arrays naturally became incredibly useful.

Blake had not only set up multiple Defensive Arrays in and around the house, there were multiple Killing Arrays and Qi Gathering Arrays in his front yard and rooftop. Although the Arrays set up were somewhat simple and weren't even at Magic Practitioner grade yet, the lethality of the Killing Arrays and the suction force of the Qi Gathering Arrays were still considered as some of the best arrays of this realm.

As Horu barged into Blake's room, Blake slowly opened his eyes as a hint of annoyance had appeared on his face. Blake was still in the process of absorbing the abundant Realm Energy contained within the Realm grade Artifacts given by the Ancestral Void Council's Elder Hall.

From last night till morning, Blake had only been able to absorb half of the full amount of Realm Energy contained within a single Realm grade Artifact. Although the process of absorption was slow, the benefits gained from the essence absorption could be seen at a visible rate.

For the last 15 years before Blake fully awakened, it had taken him 10 years at least to cross the gap between a mortal and a cultivator and reach Soldier rank. Then, after he had fully awoken, it still took him a couple of months to break through to Magic Practitioner realm.

But now, after absorbing the essence of the first Realm grade Artifact, Blake had successfully broken through two minor realms and seemed to be ready for breaking through another three few realms. So for now, Blake was a Rank 4 Magic Practitioner, on the verge of breaking through to Rank 5.

When Horu realized what was happening, he immediately turned red as he shut his mouth up and waddled out of Blake's room embarrassingly. He knew that if he stayed any longer, Blake would surely be annoyed to the point of beating the crap out of the hungry-ass half-asleep Horu. Yes, even though Blake had clearly stated that at his current level of cultivation, it was impossible for him to beat Horu, but Horu thought otherwise.

Horu has been afraid of Blake ever since Blake single handedly brought down a nest of Void Wraiths along with his friends taking down the Void Wraith King in his last life. And up until now, Horu was still scared of Blake because whenever Horu's near him, he'll feel like he's standing next to Death himself.

The death aura around Blake was so thick that if any normal mortal were to get too close, they'll feel their hearts beat wildly, their brain sending them danger signals and their body spasming out without rest. If they stood by him longer, they would be overwhelmed by the death aura and faint.

Overall, Blake's Death aura isn't really life threatening towards himself nor others. It's just really, really, really uncomfortable. But the surprising thing was, Blake has only cultivated the Darkness element and not his teacher's Death element. Even Blake had no idea why he possessed this sickening death aura.

Before Horu closed his door, Blake informed Horu that there's a WcDonalds down the street and told him to help buy a 9 piece chicken nugget large set for Blake himself. Horu nodded then left.

'Now, time to continue!' Blake declared.

3 hours later...

'Phew! I'm finally done absorbing all of the Realm Energy from this fuckin artifact! GOD! That took fuckin forever!' The moment Blake tried to get up, he accidentally poured too much mana into his thighs and legs, resulting in him jumping through the roof and into the sky.
