'Really? The Easter bunny. I'm your wolf dummy.'
"My Wolf?" I asked.
This was the first time she had spoken to me since I shifted when I was 5 and she didn't even talk to me then, I've always thought I didn't have a wolf since we were told that every werewolf had a wolf within them that enable them to shift freely.
'Duh. Who else would talk to you inside your head?' She asked.
"But you've never spoken to me, like ever. So why now?" I asked.
'I don't know, I been asleep and when ever I wake up I see myself running through some bushes and I didn't want to bother but when I heard Mother cry, I just couldn't stand it. I wanted to gorge out the eyes of those who made her cry.' She finished.
"Great, even my own wolf doesn't care about me." I said defeated.
'Hey, don't say that. If it makes you feel better. I think someone was blocking your magic and keeping me asleep.' she said.
"What?" I asked confused.
'Wait, think about it, it's been 13 years since you were able to shift and the last time I was fully awake, it definitely had to be something.' she started and I could say she drove up a hard argument.
'Besides, I live inside you, I should know if you have magical powers or not, at least enough to shut up that brother of yours.' She growled in my head.
"Hold up, so you mean to tell me that I've had a wolf all this time and someone, somewhere is suppressing my magical powers, right?" I asked.
'That was literally everything I just said, pick up girl.' She said.
But I was too dumbfounded, happy and excited at the same time. Hearing my Wolf was one of the things I longed for, I've heard Mom a bunch of times talking to herself but knowing how it feels just feels so much better.
'Hello, earth to child? Are you even listening to me?' I shook my head and returned my attention back to her.
"You do know that I have a name." I said to her.
'True, but I forgot, besides, I don't have a name either.' She said.
"Wait. I thought you came with your own names?" I asked confused.
'Look kid, when you were born, did you tell your mother your name or did she give you one?' my Wolf asked gentle.
"My mom gave me a name of course." I answered back.
'Then if you're that smart, you can figure out why I don't have a name.' She snapped back at me.
"Fine, okay, I'll give you a name. Jeez." I said trying to please her.
'And it better not be a tacky one, like bunny's.' She added.
We talked for a while on my way to school about what name would be best for her and ended up with two names. Akeeva and Bernessa.
We eventually settled for Bernessa because she said she loves the meaning of the name. Victory bringer.
'From now on, we're never going to back down from a fight, even against these magic people' Bernessa started.
'Wolves as much better than these people because we protect ourselves with just our smarts and brute strength.' She finished as I walked into the school gate.
"Okay, I need you to calm down while I try to get by another day in this hell zone. Please?" I asked Bernessa.
'Ugh, fine, you're no fun anyways.' And with that I think she sank back into my mind.
As I walked through the school halls I noticed that the kids were looking at me a weird, I mean I've gotten these looked before but today's was more.... Intense.
As usual I paid no attention to any of them and continued with my school life normally.
I walked into my first class and walked to my usual seat at the back, I pulled up my hoodie and waited for the teacher to come in.
I waited to hear the obvious gossip of the girls in the class but I didn't, in fact, the class was quiet so I thought Mr. Peters had entered the class.
I raised my head and saw everyone staring at me but before I could say anything and Mr. Peters walked into the classroom getting everyone's attention.
"Hello students, I trust we had a great weekend now." Mr Peters asked as he settled down.
"Someone must have had a wild weekend to be wearing coloured contact to school today." Someone said and the whole class started to chuckle.
I wasn't in the mood for class jokes as I ignored whoever was talking and placed my head back down on my table.
"Princess, could you please lift up your head." Mr. Peters asked me.
I growled lowly as I glared back at Mr Peters.
"Oh princess! you do know that contacts aren't allowed. You know we need your real eye colour to discern what kind of power you possess." He explained.
"What are you talking about, I have amber coloured eyes, as usual." I answered back.
"Mmm, last week you did, but if you have a reason why they've changed then I'd like to hear it now, if not I'll need you to take them off." Mr. Peters explained.
"Nothing's changed SIR! and I really do not have contacts on." I said grinding my teeth.
"If you're going to misbehave just because your father's the ruler, you've got something coming for you. Now, go explain yourself in the principal's office." Mr. Peters said writing down something on a paper.
I was about to go get the paper when I felt my subconscious mind being drawn back, then I heard,
'Let me handle this.' Oh no! It was Bernessa.
Since this was the first time my Wolf was taking over my body, I didn't know what to do or how to react. I was excited and nerve racked at the same time.
Next thing I knew I heard a different voice come out of my mouth.
"Hello annoying human teacher, I'm Bernessa, Avyanna's wolf." I heard the whole class gasp and I just wanted to hide in a corner somewhere.
"Is this a joke Avyanna, we all know you don't have a wolf, now to the principal's office." Mr. Peters said again.
"And what do you know about Avy Mr fancy pants. Just because she doesn't say anything doesn't give you the right to bully her. You're a f*ckin' grown ass Man and you're bully a kid for fun. For shame." Bernessa said shaking my head.
As fun as it sounded, I was sure that she was definitely going to get me in more trouble than I already was.
I heard the whole class wow and were at awe at my sudden burst of confidence, well Bernese's confidence.
"That's it!" Mr. Peters said trying to come closer but Bernese glare her fangs at him and she cut my lip in the process.
I felt my fangs stronger and sharper than ever, was this a perk of having a wolf, this felt awesome but I didn't know how this whole situation was going to end.
Mr. Peters took a step back with farrowed brows, watching me closely, I guess trying to analyze the whole situation.
"You really are her wolf, wow, Avyanna... has a wolf?... She has a wolf class!" Mr. Peters said out loud looking crazy.
I could see the shocked faces on my classmates, people who never took interest in me, stared at me profusely.
But I noticed only one person's eyes on me Jordan Mitchell, the hottest guy in school and my all time crush.
'Don't even think about it, he's not our mate.' Bre said in my head.
'Wow, how are you able to talk to me without talking outloud?' I asked surprised.
'Just think of it as talking to yourself in your head.' She answered.
'Then this morning...?' she chuckle
