Chereads / The Hybrid's Dream / Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

*

I fell into my comfortable bed tired from all the training and long talks I had with my Mom and Kendra.

It had definitely been the most exhausting week of my entire life but also the best, and the pain was all the more worth it.

Although I was more exhausted today, I could proudly say that this week was a huge success, Bernessa was able to meet our parent, and for the first time in forever Kendra didn't threaten me with silver and she actually acknowledged me for once, I mean us now.

I picked up my phone and ordered pizza at Berny's demand, gosh, she was like a spoilt child, always craving for junk food, but who was I to complain, I could eat as much as I wanted and never get fat.

A little while later I heard a knock on my door, one of maids had brought the pizza up to my room, 2 large pepperoni pizza. What more could a girl ask for.

As I settled down to eat, I heard a light tap on the window, Berny's growled at the distraction but the knocking came again.

I opened the balcony door and immediately Berny growled at my brother who stood unfazed at our shared balcony.

"You know I have a door too, right?" I asked Aspen.

"Well I wouldn't want to be seen in front of your door, duh?" Aspen said irritating me.

"Hmm."I hummed before shutting my balcony doors.

"Hey!" Aspen protested outside the window.

"If you're going to insult me then you're not welcome through the front or back to my room." I called out going back to my pizza dinner before it got cold.

"Okay, fine I'm sorry." Aspen said.

As it stood I was already fighting really hard to make sure Breny doesn't come out and bite off his head.

"Whatever you want use the front door." I said as I dug my teeth into my pizza.

Eventually I heard him go away, but also as soon as he left there was a soft knock on my door, I jumped thinking it was my mother at the door but was utterly disappointed when I saw Aspen staring away from the door.

"Can I come in?" He asked politely.

I knew I was never going to see this part of Aspen for a while and I was in no mood to fight so I moved out of the way as he walked into my room.

"Sick... You're having pizza for dinner. Don't mind if I do." Aspen said but before I could warn him.

"Don't you dare put your filthy hands on our food." Bernessa said jumping forward.

I think I've seen Aspen scared one to many times in the past week or so, so I tried calming Berny down so she wouldn't decapitate our brother.

Aspen stood in a corner with fear in his eyes as I slowly took control of my mind and body, I picked up a slice of pizza much to Bernessa's dismay and handed it over to Aspen as a symbol of peace.

"So before you start, I must let you know that you can't just say anything you like cus' as you've seen, my wolf doesn't like you that much so don't provoke her and trying to provoke me is still provoking her. Just so you know." I said biting down on another pizza.

"Fine." Aspen said like a child.

I sighed wishing he would act more of his age.

"So what do you want, I don't have all evening." I said with half a pizza in my hand.

"Look, I know I haven't been the best brother as of late and I was hoping to change that." Aspen said faster than the new lady on TV.

"And that's the best you could come up... Under these circumstances... To make up with me." I said trying to catch up with the scheme that was being hatched here.

"Hey, I'm just trying to be the bigger one here." Aspen said much to Breny's displeasure.

"That's a red flag buddy, now I understand that you actually have nothing to say to me and probably followed the smell of my pizza to my room, so you can grab a few pieces and leave my room alone." I said giving him the half empty box of pizza.

"Hey!" Breny said in my head but I ignored her. As much as I hated Aspen, he was still family, something Brenessa was going to have to get use to.

"W-well... if you say so, it's not like I skipped dinner or anything. But thanks." Aspen said to my surprise but I was too tired from training to care.

"Mm, hey... No offence, but... the reason I try so hard is so that I wouldn't be pitied... Like you were." Aspen said and immediately left my room, probably in fear that Breny would come after him.

I stayed silent as the word lingered in the air 'pity', a word my whole life was based off of, I smiled as I laid back on my bed, at least now I wasn't alone anymore.

"Are you okay? If you're not I can always go over to that idiot's room and teach him a lesson." Breny offered but I just laughed.

"I would have loved that but his words doesn't hurt anymore, in fact no one's words matter anymore, as long as I have you." I said with a smile.

We stayed in a comfortable silence before Breny whined about the left over pizza that was untouched, I laughed as I switch over with her.

We talked as she ate, the conversation being about how pizza was the greatest invention made by man, and how it was better than home cooked meals.

After a full night of bonding and homework, both I and Breny felt the faint calling of sleep behind our eyes although Breny had already be complaining since we began doing homework.

"I'm happy we got to miss the whole week and train with Mom and Kendra, it like a dream come true." I said staring as the ceiling.

"Yeah, it would have been a dream come true if you didn't have to do homework too, now that's a nightmare." Breny added.

"I wonder what you're complaining about, homework and classes are fun, it's just sad that I can't use magic." I said to Breny.

"Magic smagic. I'd rather be a wolf any day but, if that'll make you happy, then I'll pray to the moon goddess to grant you your wish." Breny said.

"Well we have a full and long day ahead of us tomorrow, Kendra is going to teach us how to establish an external mind link for when we get our own pack." I reminded Breny.

"Hey Avy." Breny said after a while.

"What's up?" I asked.

"What if we get rejected by our mate, then what? I heard your mother suffered a lot when her mate rejected her." Breny asked.

"And who in their right senses would reject such an amazing wolf like you. Mom just... Wasn't luck enough but she got something better." I started.

"What could be better than a mate?" Breny asked.

"Someone who loves you and your own little family, doesn't that sound magical?" I said drifting into sleep.

"If you say so. Good night champ." Was the last thing I heard before I fell into a pleasant sleep.

********************************************

It was soft, so soft, it felt like I was floating on cloud, I felt it with my hand again and it was as if it just floated and disappeared when I touched it.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw myself being lifted by clouds, I was shocked at first then I realized it was a dream.

"It's just a dream, you can relax Avy." I said to myself I said as I closed my eyes.

"Or it could be a formal meeting with the mood goddess herself." I heard a voice say.

"Yeah right Breny, we have training tomorrow now go to bed." I said assuming it was Breny, I mean who else would it be.

"I do wish it was Brenessa, but no. It's you I need to speak to." This voice was different, wait. Was it really?!?...

I blinked my eyes open and saw that I was in the presence of a large white throne with a large woman seated on it.

I looked up and saw that I was in the presence of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, he had glowing skin that made her glow a faint blue over her darker skin and a pair of ocean green eyes, she had long golden hair that glided down her back down of her feet.

Words couldn't even begin to describe how beautiful and majestic this being was and her smile, it was just breath taking.

"If I knew you'd be this star struck, then I would have brought myself down to your level, it would be easier to relate with you." She said in a voice so soft, it was softer than silk.

"W-who are you?" I asked still aw struck.

"Well... I don't know, I go by many names, the beautiful one, mother, the judge, nature but I'm popularly know as the Moon goddess, yeah that's what all the kids call me these days." She said in a playful tone.

Wait... This was the MOON GODDESS!!! Right in front of me, OMG! Was I dreaming, I definitely am dreaming, this is insane!

I was going wild in my mind and I guess the moon goddess noticed it because she laughed, I looked at her confused but still awe struck.

"Of all the kids I've met in the past, you have the best facial expression, you look like, you're so surprised that you could sh*t yourself but at the same time breakdown in tears." She said laughing.

I felt a little comfortable with the way she spoke, it was so free as if we've been friend since we were born.

"Why?- why do you speak so freely?" I asked with a little stammer.

"Oh, well.. don't all the kids talk like this? I just wanted you to feel comfortable around me you see. It not always fun when people see you as absolute and almighty sometimes, I guess they forget that I have a dad too." She said giggling like a kindergarten kid.

"I kinda get that, a lot of people back home treat me with little respect because my dad's king, I'm kinda the outcast in my town." I said trying not to sound sad.

"Oh I know you Avyanna Medius, but do you know who you are?"
