The next morning, Jeanohntae woke up early and got ready to face Christian. Her long lost bestfriend and childhood sweetheart.
She arrived at C.M Holdings and made her way to Christian's office. She was standing outside the office too nervous to knock. She shook off her fears and knocked three times.
"Come in!" A cold voice said through the closed door and made her knees tremble.
She opened the door slowing and walked in closing the door behind her. Christian looked up from his computer and was shocked to see Jeanohntae standing right before him.
"Never thought I see you again after you ran out of my office the other day. What are you doing here!?? Can i help you!??" He asked with a huge grin on his face and big eyes.
"I know why you were looking for me. Because of this right!??" She slammed the photo on his desk. Christian was shocked.
"Please don't ever contact me again or have your men follow me around anymore." With a serious face not letting him read her expression.
He was stunned when he heard his childhood sweetheart and bestfriend tell him to leave her alone and not being the slightest bit of happiness and when she knew he had his men follow her around. 'How did she know!??' He questioned himself.
Jeanohntae may have not grown up in a luxurious home or have a perfect life style or even graduated high school. She does know when something looks suspicious. Hence, when she found the photo, she knew exactly who it was.
He furrowed his brows in disbelief, "Why!?? I thought you would at least be happy to finally see me again! Is there a problem that you don't want to see me!??" He asked raising his voice at her getting frustrated.
"There is nothing wrong with you and I have no problem. You left, I cried and got over it after not seeing you for years. There hasn't been a friendship between us for a while now, so let it go. I'm focusing on my family and helping them the best I can. I have no time to rekindle whatever friendship you think is left." She stated with a frustrated voice. "I have said all I needed to say. I'll take my leave now. Goodbye Mr. Maddox." with that, she turned on her heels and left.
Christian felt so upset that he didn't get to say what he wanted to say. The truth!
*FLASHBACK!*
In the airplane: Dad, why are we leaving!?? Am I able to come back!??""
"We need to deal with a certain person before we can ever step foot in New York again." His dad said with a regretful look.
"Why!??" Curious young Christian asked his father.
"Jeanohntae doesn't know this but, everything that Uncle Rudy and I are doing, is for her safety." He said looking sad. "Her mother Maelene is looking for her and she thinks that Uncle Rudy is keeping Jeanohntae from her. So we need to leave and sort it all out and act like you are her kid instead of Jeanohntae."
Christian looked confused. "Why do I need to pretend to be her kid. Doesn't she already know about Jeanohntae!??
"She tried to harm Jeanohntae when she was still inside her mother's stomach. The doctors had to sedate her and take Jeanohntae out. So she did not know what she had. She thinks she had a girl but Uncle Rudy convinced her that she had a boy. So that is why we are going. I asked Uncle Rudy to let her know that I have her kid and she needs to meet with me." He said with a slight but painful smile.
"She has escaped from a mental hospital and is demanding to meet you and get to know you for a few years before she turns herself in. Son I hope one day that you will understand that we are doing this to protect Jeanohntae from that crazy lady and I'm sorry that I have involved you but we are family, and we'd do anything for the both of you."
Christian then smiled and said, "I understand dad. I will do anything to protect Jeanohntae even if that means I have to suffer a little. I just want to be able to play with her again." Christian hugged his dad and understood why. He just hopes that Jeanohntae will understand he did it all for her.
*END FLASHBACK!*
Tears started to form in his eyes but he managed to pull himself together. A few moment later he flipped out and started pushing everything off his desk making a loud rumble within the building making everyone freeze in silence. He was acting like a mad man.
He needed to see her again and explain everything. He knew what he was about to do was the right thing.
