Christian was glaring at Adrian with murderous eyes.
Joseph, who noticed his son's facial expression, wanted to lighten up the mood.
"I would like you all to meet my new love, Nikki and her daughter Nellie." Joseph said while holding Nikki by the waist.
Nellie looked like a drama queen. She was glaring at Jeanohntae as if she didn't want her there, and Jeanohntae was on the same boat as her. She really didn't want to be there either.
Jeanohntae noticed Nellie's crazy eyes and decided to speak. "Hi, my name is Jeanohntae. It's nice to meet you!" As she stretched her hand out to shake Nikki's hand but felt it gets pushed and was pulled into a hug by Nikki.
"No need for a formal greeting. Any family of Joseph, is family to me." Nikki said with a big and happy smile on her face.
Jeanohntae stuck her hand out to Nellie who just walked passed her like she was nothing. "What a drama queen!" Adrian whispered to Jeanohntae with a smirk.
"Please don't mind her. She's just being a little hostile because we had to move. She left all her friends behind." Nikki tried to reassure Jeanohntae not to take it personally.
After the awkward greetings. It was finally time for dinner. Everyone was laughing and giggling at the table except for Christian who was glaring at Adrian still holding onto Jeanohntae. They were not affected by his mood and started laughing and talking.
Christian had enough of their laughs. "Where did you guys meet!??" He said in a serious tone making everyone fall silent and stare at the couple who looked shocked by his sudden outburst.
"We met at a coffee shop. We bumped into each other and spilled my coffee. Suddenly, we instantly connected. It was like love at first spill!" Adrian said making everyone except Christian laugh.
Christian was not buying Adrian's story of how they met. Because he knew Jeanohntae hates the smell and taste of coffee.
Jeanohnate was smiling at Adrian's response. Although they weren't dating, Adrian wasn't lying about how they met. They did meet each other in a coffee shop. Jeanohntae bumped into Adrian while trying to flee from the awful smell of coffee.
She tried to apply for a job thinking she would have gotten over her dislike for coffee. She was sadly mistaken when she made Adrian spill his coffee everywhere. They have been bestfriends for 3 years and nobody knows that Adrian is gay besides her and his boyfriend.
"I was not talking to you. I was talking to her." Christian said making everyone silent again.
Jeanohntae was shocked. She clenched her fists and her jaw trying not to yell.
"Christian, watch your tone the way you are talking to Jeanohntae's boyfriend. They are our guests" Joseph looked irritated at his son's jealousy rage and outburst.
"Who cares if they are our guests. Their story doesn't even make any sense since Jeanohntae does not drink coffee. They are not even a perfect couple, and they are not made for each other. I mean, just look at them!" Christian said in a really harsh voice stopping everyone in their tracks. It was so silent that anyone could hear a pin drop.
'What does she see in him!?? That was supposed to be me holding her hands. Not some random guy.' Christian thought as his heart was screaming.
No one dared to speak, let alone breathe.
Jeanohntae had enough. "Christian, you are so despicable! I don't care how you act towards me. You may speak to me in an indifferent tone and say harsh words to me, but don't do it to Adrian. Although we don't look like a good couple, I am very happy with him. You have not been in my life for years, therefore you don't know me or know how much I have changed. You basically know nothing about me so don't sit here and act like you can judge my decisions and my love life. You don't know me!" She said yelling at him while everyone stared at her wondering how crazy she'd have to be to yell at the heir to all his father's company.
Jeanohntae turned to Joseph who was shocked to see the little sensitive girl he has watched grow up always crying becoming all grown up.
"I'm so sorry Uncle Joseph for this inconvenience but I will take my leave. Thank you for the lovely evening and it has been very good to see you again."
"Thank you for coming Jeanohntae and I hope you still come around." With a sad tone of voice. She smiled at him and glared at Christian.
She grabbed Adrian's hand and left.
Christian felt so sad and defeated that the girl he has been thinking about for years called him despicable. He didn't understand why she wanted nothing to do with him. All he wanted was her. He dismissed himself from dinner and went to him room.
"WOW! Girl, that was the most intense sh*t I have ever been apart of. Was he the guy you needed me for!?? Adrian asked laughing.
"Yeah that was him. He was my childhood sweetheart and bestfriend. But I don't want anything to do with him. He has not tried to contact me so there is no point in wasting the rest of my life on him." She explained as she took her phone out to message her father. 'Dad, I'm gonna stay at Adrian's tonight. I'll see you at home tomorrow.'
"And for his information, I think we would make a perfect couple and I will be an amazing boyfriend. Just ask my boyfriend. That guy don't know what he is talking about." He stated making Jeanohntae laugh as they walked to his house to get rid of all the negative vibes that just took place a few minutes ago.
They finally reached Adrian's place and decided to watch a movie before bed.
*MEANWHILE AT THE MADDOX RESIDENCE*
After dinner Joseph was so furious. He barged right into Christian's room.
"What the hell is the matter with you!?? Do you have any idea what you just did!??" Joseph yelled furiously.
"I did nothing wrong. I just spoke the truth. It should have been me with her. Not him." Christian spoke calmly but with anger in his eyes.
"You will apologize to uncle Rudy for what you have done. Disrespecting Jeanohntae's love choices. You will apologize to the both of them or so help me lord I will take back everything I have ever given you. Including C.M HOLDING!" Joseph yelled at his unfazed son.
Joseph walked out of Christian's room and slammed the door.
Christian was still furious but thought to himself. 'He's right. I need to apologize if I want to win her heart. Please forgive me Jeanohntae. I am sorry. I'll make it up to you any way I can.'
He then had the perfect apology gift.
