Meanwhile, At the office. "How can she not remember me!??" His eyes darkened with anger.
'There must be a way to win back her heart. She may not remember me now. But she will soon enough.' He thought to himself.
*FLASHBACK*
12 YEARS AGO!
"Dad, I don't want to go. I want to stay here." Young Christian said to his father Joseph Maddox.
"I'm sorry son. dad got a new job in a different state. We have to go." Joseph said.
"Daddy please don't let Uncle Jojo take Christian from me." Young Jeanohntae pleaded while crying. It was too hard for her to pronounce Joseph. So she always says Jojo.
Joseph and Rudy were best friends and so were Christian and Jeanohntae. They have all been great friends for many years.
"Uncle Rudy please take care of Jean." Christian said with pleading eyes while hugging his Uncle goodbye. Jean was a nickname that they all called her by.
"Chris, of course I'll take care of her. She is my daughter after all." Rudy laughing and smiling at Christian.
Joseph and Rudy hugged to say goodbye and so did Jeanohntae and Christian. It was a very sad day for them all.
Christian pulled out of the hug; cupped her cheeks and said, "Jeanohntae, when we get bigger and I finally come back, I'll come find you and we can play forever."
"Promise!??" Jeanohntae asked still crying.
"I promise." As he smiled and kissed her cheeks.
*END FLASHBACK*
Christian intended to keep his promise he made 12 years ago. He ordered Ruth to find everything about Jeanohntae. He could not stand being away from her any longer. He wanted to keep her close to him at all times.
Jeanohntae had just woken up from the sound of her alarm. She brushed her teeth and got ready to go and look for more jobs. She could not seem to find a job that accepted high school drop outs.
She had to quit school to help her dad with the bills. She loves school, but will sacrifice anything to help her family. Her father has done so much so her that she was willing to do the same.
For hours without any luck, she finally went home to relax. She did not want to stay out all day like she did yesterday. It was mentally exhausting for her. She was worried she would not be able to find a job.
AT THE OFFICE
"Sir, I gathered everything you asked about Ms. Babauta.." Ruth said politely and left the folder on his desk, then left.
Christian opened the folder and his eyes lit up when he saw a picture of her. Not long after, his deep blue eyes darkened when he read about their financial difficulties and had dropped out of school.
"All this time I thought you were living a good life and to find out that you stopped your life at the age of 17 to help uncle Rudy." Christian mumbled to himself. 'She is amazing and thoughtful just like I remembered.' A small smile appeared in Christian's heart.
He stayed in the office all day just staring at the picture of Jeanohntae smiling. He really missed her so much.
He knew Jeanohntae would never see him again if she thought he was like a creepy stalker. He thought of so many ways to get her back.
That's when it hit him....
