Chapter three
Myra walked inside Kevin's office angrily. The anger she felt could relocate the entire company.
Kevin looked up at her from the book he was reading, "You didn't knock."
It wasn't a question, it was a statement of fact.
Myra rolled her eyes, "I did sir," she protested.
"No, you didn't," Kevin argued the more, shaking his head slightly.
" No sir. You were reading a book, that's why you didn't hear me knock," she explained further.
Kevin folded his hands in front of him, "Are you saying I'm lying?"
Myra stared at him for a while before she shook her head slightly, "No sir."
Kevin smiled, "Good. Now, go out there and make a correction."
Myra grunted before she walked out. She stood before the door and knocked again. When Kevin didn't answer, she knocked again.
"Yes, come in," Kevin said.
Myra hissed and walked in, " Can I start cleaning the place then?"
Kevin threw her a handkerchief, " Use that," he said and continued to read through the book on his desk.
Myra took the handkerchief and cleaned the table. She would make the CEO pay for giving her a job that wasn't hers.
She moved quickly towards the book Kevin was reading.
Kevin picked up the book and placed it on his lap.
Myra stared disappointedly at him for a while before she managed to wipe the desk clean, not that there was any dirt on it.
It was just like Kevin wanted to make her suffer for what she did for him the other day.
She moved to his chair quickly and intentionally hit his shoulders while she cleaned the chair.
Kevin stood up hurriedly and moved away, his face registered irritation, "What the fuck did you think you are doing?"
Myra gave her an innocent expression, " What you told me to do. Cleaning of course."
"How can you stain me with that thing? Can't you tell me to stand?" His voice was showing how angry he was.
Myra shrugged slightly, feigning ignorance, "You told me to clean. You were supposed to know when to back off," she gave it back to him, clean.
Kevin stared at her angrily as if to drill hole in her face. He opened his mouth to say something but decided against it quickly. He walked out of the office instead.
Myra laughed when he was out of view. She was glad she gave him little of his own medicine.
She never knew the news about him was true. Kevin smith loved pulling silly stunts.
Jeez, people always pitied his secretary.
Myra wouldn't allow it, she wouldn't let him use her.
Myra cleaned the office and after walking out, Kevin was nowhere to be found.
Myra used the opportunity to write the apology letter that Kevin had requested. She placed it on the table before going to the lunchroom.
During lunch hour, Myra still didn't see Kevin.
She thought Kevin was a champion when it came to business. Where was he hiding?
Myra had a burger for lunch. When she walked inside her office, she heard her phone ringing.
She picked it up immediately, "Hello," she said into the receiver and realized it was Kevin.
"Seriously?" Kevin said, bewilder, "Come inside my office right now," he said and the telephone went off.
Myra sighed, confused and already feeling frustrated. She knew he was calling her for trouble.
She walked back into his office. Kevin was looking through the window, out into the street.
She used the opportunity to give him quick scrutiny. Kevin was tall, perhaps 6ft and above. He looked strong too with his broad shoulders.
And well, he was undoubtedly handsome.
"Are you done checking me out?" He said suddenly, shocking Myra for another second.
Myra had to search around him for other eyes. There was no way he would be looking out through the window and still discover she was watching him.
"Why did you call me sir?"
Kevin turned around to look at her, his eyes went all over her for a moment and Myra realized he had changed his white shirt.
Myra nearly laughs out loud. How could he go home to change his shirt because she mistakenly dusted on him?
And then Myra remembered an article that talked about how clean Kevin Smith was. He was an impeccably clean man.
"I told you to write me an apology letter," he walked to his desk and picked up the letter, " What's this?" He walked to her with the letter, "It seemed like you didn't even go to school with all you wrote here."
Myra winced at his hurtful words but she stayed cool. Fighting him would resolve in nothing. As far as Kevin was concerned, it would only ruin matters.
Kevin hit the letter against her chest, touching her slightly, "I want another one before the end of today, ok?" His hard and deep voice made Myra shiver.
" Yes sir," she said and bowed her head slightly.
Kevin walked to her, filling up the space in between them. They were so close now, only a hairbreadth away.
Kevin moved his mouth to her left ear, "Next time, be sure to know who the elder is. This will teach you not to run your mouth at anyone you see."
Myra closed her eyes and shivered. She knew it. She knew Kevin was only trying to punish her for what she did to him on Saturday.
Though, she wondered if she would be able to get through it.
Kevin scoffed again and stepped back, his dark Iris watching her as if reading through her mind and seeing how scared she was.
Myra opened her eyes and looked away, "Is there anything else you need me for?"
Kelvin inclined his head and thought for a while, then he looked at Myra and nodded his head negatively.
She bowed again and turned to leave but Kevin caught her suddenly and pulled her towards him.
Because the pull was sudden, Myra couldn't stop herself from advancing towards Kevin. Her chest hit Kevin's and they were standing close, too close for comfort.
