Chereads / The Unstoppable Trio: Book 1 / Chapter 21 - Shopping

Chapter 21 - Shopping

Now that Swara was alone in the game, she decided to do one of the quests that she remembered from her days in the starter town, after she had checked the market for any good stuff.

She didn't remember everything, after all she wasn't Himu, but she definitely knew everything about Helbens and the capital, Etomshire, like the back of her hand. One had been a safe refuge for her, while the other was their guild's nearest city.

The market was divided mainly into four sections. One was the auction hall, which was present in almost every city and town, since it also worked as a post office for equipment, supplies and miscellaneous stuff. Only small villages lacked these.

Next was the bank, where you could do transactions of money with people who weren't in your town, deposit, withdraw, pretty much everything a normal bank would do. Even loans, though they required a certain amount of affiliation with the kingdom.

The bank and the auction hall worked together for fast delivery of money and together took about one-third of the space of the district, since it wasn't too large.

The next section was NPCs selling their merchandise in their own shops. Swara saw quite a variety of herbs and different plant parts that could be harvested around Helbens, but she mostly bought those that she recognised and that couldn't be found easily around the town.

The herbs were way too expensive, it took her 2 Sairs to buy about 50 herbs and various different plant parts, most being Common, with a few Uncommon ones, one Rare and, of course, no Epic ones.

But this was anticipated, the game had just started, it would take some time for their prices to fall. After all, the markets across the lands, airs and waters of Axonia also followed the rule of supply and demand.

At the accessory shop, she didn't buy anything, but she noticed that the Lesser Rings of Precision had a very small blue gem in them, whereas the one she had gotten from the Silver Chest was just a plain ring.

Then she bought an Uncommon grade staff, the highest grade that could be found at the blacksmith's, for Himu, since anything would be better than starting equipment. Though it cost her 5 Sairs.

So almost half their money had been used, as they also gave Shinigami one-fourth of the money they had gotten from the wyvern. (Not the one from the chest though.)

After shopping from that section, she decided to go back and check the auction hall once again, since it was on the way to the church.

She didn't visit the fourth section of the market, because it was where players who wanted to sell something would set up their stalls, and at this point of time, it was hard to believe that someone would get a good item and decide to sell it.

She opened the Miscellaneous section on her screen after entering the auction hall.

There was a Copper Chest on sale in the auction hall.

Other than its colour, it looked strikingly similar to the Silver Chest they had found. It was being sold by some Dazzling Man for 2 Telks.

Swara thought that, since no one would have that kind of money right now, no one could have bought it.

But it was after reading the description by the seller, that she understood the real reason no one had bought it.

It reads as follows:

"You peasants must be thinking why I am putting this wooden chest for auction, Ill tell you poor persons I am such a dazzling man, why would I open a chest made up with copper when anything less gold is nut as dazzling me? so any of you peasants can buy it. of course as someone as dazzling as I am is selling it it's prize is going to be in gold."

{A narcissist, that too with language issues, both are difficult to find in today's society. Yet here we are.} was what Swara was thinking as she selected the buy option, paying the money at the one of the reception boxes and getting the item after a wait of a few seconds.

Ever since the language AI QZ 2.0 had been brought to the people, learning languages on a screen had been a thing of the past.

He would just appear on your screen whenever you type something, telling you what was wrong with a word, phrase or sentence, even telling you the correct pronunciation if you wanted to know.

So almost everyone would be a language expert for whatever language they bought it for.

Swara wanted to open the chest right away, but stored it in her inventory, remembering that Gagan was the lucky one.
