Chereads / The Unstoppable Trio: Book 1 / Chapter 22 - Uncle Max

Chapter 22 - Uncle Max

Their company, Kingdom, manufactured and engineered any and all means of transportation. Of course, it meant that they were also a space company and had their own space station and stuff. The AI software they had created, 'Feingold', was the best guide, driver or pilot one could ask for.

While he was doing work in his office, signing papers and stuff, he once again remembered the story his grandfather had told him.

She was originally created by their grandfather's older brother and his Swedish friend Albin Dahl, who he had met in his college days. It was something they had worked on ever since his 40th birthday, a few months after the Cleansing, up until they were both 45 years old.

He had moved with his family to India when they started the work.

Sadly, his friend passed away from having overexerted his body when they had almost completed their creation.

This led his grandpa to devote even more of his time to his work, believing that his friend had given the project his everything.

The first time he had ever asked his younger brother for something for himself, it was two promises, and that too, not for himself.

First was to take care of the business side and give his friend's family a seat on the board of directors, and second, that the company would start on his friend's 45th would-be birthday.

Maxin Dahl, the then 21 year old, only son of Albin Dahl, had given the position they had received to his wife, stating that he knew nothing about business, while his wife had a few degrees in commerce.

He instead liked martial arts more, so he quit his job and joined a dojo. Becoming the best in the dojo and inheriting it from his master, who, after losing his kind, young son early on in his life, had finally found someone who looked and felt like him.

It was the same dojo that Gagan had joined, whose master was now Uncle Max.

Not for Taekwondo though, that he learnt in school. He trained in Kenjutsu in Uncle Max's dojo.

But Uncle Max was going to retire soon, and another student of his would inherit the dojo, since both his daughters, though they found their father moving even after being 40 found it cool, had no interest in martial arts.

Gagan still had to make a lot of progress, he was the 3rd best out of the 7 pupils in the dojo.

After completing his work, which took barely more than 20 minutes, Himu decided to call Uncle Max.

He placed the phone on the sandalwood table, and a hologram of Uncle Max appeared, if anyone were to see him, no one could say that it wasn't the real man and just a hologram, except for the fact that it was only his head and shoulders.

"Hello, White Fox." he was wearing his usual Sensei clothes, or that's what he called them. He was a man in his mid-forties, but he looked more like he was in his late-thirties instead. He looked as calm as a bed that no amount of *uhm**uhm* sleeping could break.

"Hello Uncle Max. How are you?" Himu was very polite with him, he would always call him that because of his white hair, yet he wouldn't be one bit offended, because there was no malice behind his words. Their families were friends ever since his grandpa and also he was Gagan's current master. Yet, none of these was the reason he was always more than polite with him. The reason was...

"I'm fine. What about you, son? Were you missing Phyllis? Want me to send her over to yours?" he asked, grinning ear to ear like a child.

Yes, he was betrothed to his daughter.

"NO!" he said, his eyes widened while he stood up from his comfortable chair, his voice a notch higher than he would like to keep it, he blushed and lowered his voice, "I mean, please don't tease me like that. You know that she can be a bit... intense, at times." his cheeks completely red as all the memories of her kissing him out of nowhere, every time she felt like some girl was looking at him wrongly, flashed in his mind. He wasn't exactly big on public displays of affection.

He didn't mind people hugging or kissing in public, he could just politely move away, but being the person hugged or kissed in public scared him.

Uncle Max laughed heartily, "I know, I know. Don't worry, son, just remember, it's her love for you that makes her like that. Okay?" he said, usually the White Fox would look totally cool, totally calm and collected, but once Phyllis was mentioned, he would lose his mind. "Anyways, you wouldn't call this old man without a reason. So? What is it?"

He regained his composure as the subject of the conversation changed, "Yes, I heard you'll be leaving the dojo. I'm not sure what you have decided to do once you're free, but have you heard of the new game Axonian Adventures?"
