After she was done with her shopping, Swara decided to go for the quest.
Since it was on the way, she reached the fountain once again. She looked around her.
Behind her, to the west, there was the market, with the shops, warehouses etc., that she had come from. To her right, was the residential area where the majority of the people lived.
The north and east were covered with important buildings, such as the town hall, school, church, barracks, and most importantly, the Lord of Helbens' residence was.
The farms were majorly located outside the town's residential area, for up to a few kilometres.
As she continued walking, she saw the church, right next to which was the orphanage. The quest location.
She reached it in a couple of minutes. Standing right outside the door, she went over the steps in her mind a couple of times.
{Enter the orphanage, look kind, give a child a treat, ask them to take me to their... Old Lady? Doctor?.. Ah well the one who takes care of them. Donate money. Ask for a quest.}
Then she put on her best kind and naive explorer face and entered the orphanage.
The walls were of an ochre colour, while the floor looked pinkish. There were a few children around, it didn't look like they weren't fed properly, but it also didn't look like they ate much. They were wearing properly washed clothes that would have been worn again and again, who knows how many times.
She approached the nearest kid and crouched down to reach his height.
It was a human boy with short, dark brown, curly hair, he was around 3'9" and had a small scar just above his left eyebrow. He looked to be 7 years old and had faint freckles on his face. He was looking curiously at Swara.
Swara had a kind and loving smile plastered on her face. She picked up one of the cheap health restoring snacks in her inventory that she had bought from the market, and gave it to the kid.
It looked something like those rectangular chocolates that were eaten in the early 21st century. The kid's face instantly lit up.
Swara ruffled his hair and said, "Cute one." It was her natural reaction to the little cutie, who was eating the chocolate with enough happiness visible on his face, that it was comparable to Gagan's when he had made the chocolate pudding.
After he was done, he pulled at Swara's finger, trying to take her somewhere, but since it was difficult for Swara to walk like that, she picked up the little one like a mother would, seating him on her left arm.
He became even more happy, and having to q looked at her so closely, he said, "Preppy."
Swara, confused, asked "What?"
The kid then touched her face with his cute little hands, and said "Preppy" again.
{Does he mean... pretty? Awwww.... cute little kid, I'll bring him more of those next time.} were her thoughts as he then pointed her to a door.
As she reached the door and knocked on it, a little girl with dog ears, who couldn't be more than 6 years old, opened the door.
It looked like a dorm room. There were a few kids lying on the beds. A middle aged female elf, sitting on a bed, was taking care of a girl who was probably in her early teens. She had a ivory white horn on her head, so Swara understood that she was a demon.
"How may I help you?" the lady asked, apparently she was applying what looked like a bandage to the little demon's elbow.
"Are you Doctor Maria?"
