*VROOM! *VROOM!! *VROOM!!!
Some things sure do understand the feelings of their owner.
Yeah, they sure do. The angry roar of a bike could be heard as it drifted miles on the street leaving in its wake the howling rush of the wind.
Layers of anxiety mixed with an adrenaline rush coursing through the engine of the bike. The combination of its feelings and that of the rider immersed together evokes a state of heightened consciousness and hyper-alertness.
Following every twist and turn of the rider, the bike took perfect sharp curves into every corner giving the poor passersby a scare. Hats flew off and simple linen clothes were blown away.
A group of high school girls whose school skirts were so short that they practically showed off their colorful panties was not left in the ordeal. The wind actively pushed up the skirts exposing their bikini bottom to the world.
They revealed an aggrieved expression and created a hypocritical scene by dragging down their skimpy skirts above mid-thigh amidst cursing the rider in their hearts.
The motorbike took a sharp turn, the rider slammed a foot on the brake causing the bike to screech to halt in front of a building.
The rider hopped off the bike, flexed her fingers hidden beneath leather gloves, and took off the helmet.
Her voluminous waves cascaded out of the helmet down to the waist level. The hair bounced from a fiery fire red color to a pumpkin-orange color, the fading evidence of excessive dyeing of the hair. This made the natural color of the hair unknown.
She ran her finger through the hair straightening the tangles and turned, a face popped into the scene.
A very pointy face, very fair so much that she glowed. As though her face was carved unnaturally to resemble a porcelain doll. Perfectly arched natural brows, striking espresso-colored eyes, and full unsmiling pink lips were her most exquisite features. Albeit, she had a very daunting image, she still lack in feminine beauty.
She wore a pure black leather jacket above her plain unattractive white crop top. A pair of black leather trousers and faux leather high boots.
With her helmet in one hand, she clenched the other hand into a tight fist. Her unsmiling lips uttered a curse. Her brows scrunched and her expressionless eyes were unreadable.
She raised her head, straightened her shoulder, and puffed her chest in an arrogant and carefree manner, she took steps towards the house.
The house looked just as she had left it earlier that day. Empty boxes of pizza lay on the table, half-eaten cinnamon rolls, and all kinds of sachets littered the floor. She ignored the sight and walked straight into her room.
Her room appeared surprisingly neat, it eluded a kind of "cast out villain" feeling. Aside from the bed covered with a plain bedspread, the other noticeable thing in the room was a small-looking fridge.
She threw the helmet aside and walked to the fridge. She opened the fridge and grabbed a chilled bottle of soda.
Hiss... The whistling sound of the gas escaping the bottle could be heard as she twisted the cap. She put the bottle to her lips and gulped a big amount of the chilling liquid down her throat.
"Fuck!" She cursed, closed the bottle, and returned it to the fridge. The cold drink was harsh in her throat.
"Angry at the poor drink now?" A mocking voice sounded in her head.
"Shut the fuck up!" She retorted angrily.
"He. he. he. You are really still angry?" The voice mocked continuously.
"Do you want to die!" She threatened.
"Ah. Yes, I really want to but, if you want me dead, you have to kill yourself first. Wait, I think even with that, I might not die. I will probably just end up with you in hell" the voice laughed.
Her face twitched and morphed into all shades of anger. She clenched her fist and flung it forward.
BAM! Came the aftermath sound of her fist hitting the wall.
"Ouch.." she groaned.
"Foolish, very foolish!" the voice came from her head again.
She rolled her eyes and ignored the voice. She could not help but berate herself this time. She removed the gloves from both hands and inspected her fingers. Thankfully, her finger was not bruised.
"Hey, do you really think you ain't at fault today? I thought you had always wanted to leave that place? What are you now getting so mad —" the voice's continuous murmur rang into her head.
"SHUT UP!" She snapped. Thankfully, no one was around, else they would have taken her to be someone delusional.
She angrily ran her finger through her rough waves letting out a frustrated yell. Then the earlier events of the day came up in her mind merging piece after piece.
EARLIER THAT DAY
At the sight of the signboard that revealed her workplace; "Smithstucher's Clothings", her motorbike swerved in the direction of the parking lots and she parked in her signature spot.
She looked back at the people still standing on the spot. They were either alarmed by her uncut attitude or glaring daggers at her. She found their faces really funny and her lips tilted up in an arrogant manner.
"What's with their face? Obviously, they should be used to this already" She said to herself while bouncing her way into the Mall.
"You gave them a scare!" a voice berated in her head.
"No one asked for your opinion" She scoffed and stepped into the shop.
As usual, when she walked in, the other shop assistants merely eyed her with disdain and continued with the business. She sneered loudly and arrogantly walked passed them. No one wanted to start a day with someone like her, not like she cared anyway.
Just as she was about to step into her stall, another worker walked up to her. Merely from looking at her face, She could tell the one coming was up to no good.
"The manager wants to see you," The lady said and before the other could utter a word in response, she fled.
"I am that bad?" She thought with an amused smirk playing on her lips.
"Bad isn't the word. You are worst, useless, and crazy" the voice in her head said to her.
Her eyes turned into slits as she murmured a silent "quiet!".
The shop assistants around her threw a glance at her when they heard her incoherent murmur. They shook their head and looked away as if hearing her talk to herself was nothing unusual.
She ignored them and walked to the manager's office. As soon as the door opened, the manager opened her mouth and said;
"Camry?" The manager did not look up, instead, she concentrated on the papers before her.
Of course, who else did you send for? She thought with a roll of her eyes when she heard the manager call her name. Even at that time, she could still hear the voice in her head call her "rude".
"I am here," She said.
The manager raised her head immediately. She had an incomprehensible look on her face. She was a woman in her mid-thirties but looked really pretty unlike the young lady of about 22 years before her who although had a daunting face, was nothing near pretty. Or perhaps, that is what people think.
"Cam—" the manager started but was interrupted by her.
"Melissa, can you talk real quick? I have customers to attend to" Camry said dismissively causing the manager named Melissa to frown.
"Camry, this your behavior is unacceptable!" Melissa snapped.
Camry rolled her eyes and merely threw a look at the other woman. She was so used to this kind of rebuke and cared less.
"You have to stop seeing the customers!" Melissa said as a matter of fact.
"What the heck are you sprouting?" Camry raised a nonchalant brow. Her fingers tapped the edge of the table casually.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, the manager said; "You should have seen this coming"
Camry let out a small sarcastic laugh and responded; "Who the hell ever see her expulsion from work coming. Tell me, Melissa"
"I am sorry but you are dismissed. Go to the treasury department and get your pay for the month. Camry, I advise you to leave now before I call the cops on you!" Melissa pointed to the door while saying this.
Camry's fingers tapping on the table paused, one finger after the other, her fingers clenched and formed into a tight fist. Her face twitched angrily. Before she could say one more word, she saw the woman taking the telephone beside her.
Camry banged her fist on the table startling the woman. She glared at her really hard before walking out of the office.
She stepped into the shop, her eyes threw daggers at the shop assistants who were gathered around her previous table obviously gossiping about her. Camry eyed them irritably and stepped out of the shop angrily, never to return again.
