"Huuuuuhh?" Qin said as he turned his head around and faced the three young men. Hearing this noise, the three men looked at who dared to be so arrogant as to speak back to them. What they saw was a small child sitting down at one of the stools in the front bar.
"Who are you calling a peasant? Do you want to die?" Qin said in a cold tone while looking at the slender-faced man in the middle of the trio. The three were stunned at first but soon realized that it was nothing more than a brat who was very ill-informed about the current situation.
The three started to laugh. "Ahaha! This kid dares to speak back against us!? I'm astounded!" The young man said. "You must not know who we are! We are guild members of the great Han guild! One that is the most prosperous in the entire city of Han!" One of the others said as he laughed.
'The Han guild? I'll make sure to remember it, for it will be crushed under my own feet in the future.' Qin thought to himself.
"Now move along you brat! Unless you want to be pummeled just like that old man over there!" The young man finally said.
Qin stood up. "Know your place." He said in a low and cold tone. The young man suddenly stopped laughing, as he felt like a dangerous serpent was staring right into his eyes. A cold shiver quickly went down the back of the young man.
"You! Your dead!" He said after a small pause and stormed his way over to Qin. Before Qin could react, the 40-year-old man from before stood in front of him with his hands out to his sides. "I... I'm sorry, but I cannot sit here and do nothing while an innocent child is going to be beaten because of our faults!" The man yelled.
The young man stopped. "Wha-?" He was interrupted by the man standing in front of Qin. "Please forgive him for his sins, for he knows not much of this world! He is only an innocent child!" The man yelled again.
The young man stopped in his tracks and sucked his teeth before turning around. "I'll let him go because he is a kid, but make sure it never happens again!" The young man said as he left the tavern with his goons.
After leaving, the 40-year-old man quickly rushed over to the old man on the floor and put his hand over the old man's stomach. Soon after, a warm green glow radiated from his hand and spread throughout the old man's stomach.
Qin was quite intrigued by this. After a couple of minutes, the old man was fine enough to walk. The man then made his way over to Qin.
"What is your name son?" The man asked Qin. "It's Qin, Qin Shi Huang! Make sure to remember it." Qin said to the man. "What is yours?" He then asked.
"My name is Hart. I'm sorry for putting you into such a predicament." The man then said.
"Is it really your fault? It didn't look that way to me." Qin said.
"Injustice..." The man said one word before pausing for a moment. "Cruel injustice. My father once owned this tavern, but he was wrongfully accused by the Han guild and had this tavern stripped away from him. It now belongs to one of the guild elders of the Han guild. the 11th elder, Boro." The man said before looking back at the entrance.
"That young man who just attacked my father is the son of elder Boro." The man finally said before leaving the establishment with his father.
Qin then sat back down on his seat. 'I need to develop a way to actually fend myself. Even with my sword skill, it is not good enough in this small body.' Qin thought to himself as he called the bartender. "I'd like to return this black marlin steak, was it cooked in a kettle?" Qin said to the bartender.
The bartender was a young man around the age of 16. He looked quite scrawny and wore glasses. "Oh! Yes of course! Please come this way." The young man said as he went to a door on the other side of the bar table.
'It worked!' Qin thought to himself.
The bartender held a lantern as he led Qin down a stairway that eventually led to a single door. Upon opening the door, Qin stepped into another place entirely. It seemed that the door was some sort of a portal.
The place Qin was transported to was underground, there were many black market shops all around the place. On the sides of the streets were many people selling many different things that Qin had never seen before. As he made his way around the black market, many people tried to coax him to come to their shop.
From weapons to different artifacts and talismans, there was everything one would want to find here!
After walking around for a little bit, Qin came across what seemed to be the shop he was looking for. It was a cheap-looking shop. There was only a small rug on the floor with some books lined up and a dubious-looking shopkeeper who was around his 50s and had a small beard and some old clothes.
"So you want some magic cultivation techniques eh? Well, don't you worry! You, young lad, have come to the best shop in this entire black market!" The man said joyfully.
'Yeah, I seriously doubt that.' Qin thought to himself.
The man then paused for a small moment. "You're probably thinking that I am lying, but I have never lied before in my life." The man said confidently.
"Well, since you are the only magic cultivation technique seller that I have found, I have no choice but to trust you. Show me the best one you have." Qin said.
The man happily took out an extremely thin book. All of the other books had hundreds of pages, but this one looked to have a very small amount. It read "Supreme Magic Cultivation Technique" on the title.
"What is this? It looked extremely suspicious!" Qin said to the man.
"You said that you would trust me, going back on our word are we?" The old man said to Qin. Qin paused for a moment to think.
"I also forgot to include, this technique is free, so don't worry about paying for it." The man then said.
"What?" Qin said. "Well that makes it easy then, I'm taking this one!" Qin said as he took the thin book.
The man then swiftly stood up and everything on the ground then disappeared from plain sight. "Well, have fun with that, will you! You are truly a lucky one, try to pay me back one day will ya'?" The man then said as he walked away with a cane in hand, laughing.
Qin was confused about the whole ordeal with the man, but he was just happy that he got a free magic cultivation technique. Qin opened the book and saw that there was not even a single page inside of it. "What in the world is this!?" Qin said.
Qin felt like he had just been robbed, but he had not paid for the book at all. As he stood there wondering what to do, he heard a message pop up in his head.
'What!?' Qin was shocked. 'This is an ultimate magic cultivation technique?? What is that?' Qin then asked the system. Although he knew that it sounded like quite a strong magic cultivation technique, he couldn't get his hopes up too high so quickly.
This was exciting news, but Qin still had no idea how to use this magic cultivation technique at all. He then stood there and looked around to see if there was anything to spend his money on before leaving.
He had a small budget he could spend that his mother gave him, it was a total of 15 silver coins. Qin went over to a small shop to his right that looked to hold different swords. Qin was renowned around the world for having immense sword skills in his past life. He was said to never be able to lose a one versus one fight against another swordsman.
A good sword was the thing that made a swordsman. The small shop held an array of different swords big and small.
The clerk that owned the shop greeted Qin and left him alone to choose something. The black market was known for being cheaper than normal prices, so all of the swords were affordable, the highest-priced one only being 20 silver coins.
A thin sword quickly caught Qin's attention. The blade was very small and its size was perfect for Qin's four-year-old body. "Let me see this one." Qin said to the clerk, pointing at the sword.
The clerk walked over. "The storm blade eh? Good choice!" The clerk said as he took the sword and gave it to Qin.
As Qin grabbed the sword, the familiar feeling of a real sword's hilt came to him. It had been many years since he had wielded a real sword. As Qin tested the sword, he could feel that it was as light as a feather.
Qin bought the sword for 14 silver coins after some bargaining down from 20 gold coins. It had been about four hours since Qin had left the castle. It was time for him to go back, staying outside of the castle for too long at such a young age was not something Qin wanted to risk.
He also wanted to test out his newfound sword better and try and see if he could find out something about his newly attained magic cultivation technique.
