Chapter 15 - Bring Me A Real Challenge!

"Do you want to die?" Qin said coldly.

"Are you threatening a royal? You, a mere peasant?" The royal laughed. "Your nothing but a bug that I can squish under my foot." He said confidently as he walked out of the crowd of royals.

"What is this? A challenge?" Qin said with a smirk on his face.

"No, it is a demonstration." The royal replied. "A demonstration of how pathetic you half-bloods and peasants are compared to those born with royalty in their blood." He said.

The royals behind him started to laugh.

"I accept!" Qin said with a full smile as he walked over to the royal. As he walked, a man suddenly appeared in front of the young royal.

"Young master, are you sure you want to participate in this fight? It is not good to get injured right before the entrance exams!" The man said to the royal.

"What? Do you think I will get injured by a half-blood peasant?" The royal calmly said to the man. There was a moment of silence before the man spoke again.

"Of course not!" The man said as he disappeared.

As the two got about ten meters away from each other, the royal spoke. "My name is Feng Hanjiao." He said as he put his hands together forming a ball.

"You can call me master," Qin said smirking. Feng wasn't pleased by this remark.

"You!" Feng said in an annoyed tone.

Almost everyone was paying attention to this conflict, including Yen and the others. "This bastard has gotten himself in a fight again," Hephas said as he shook his head.

"Your right, there's no way he can possibly win this one," Yen said.

"I will have to agree with you, but there's no way to stop him." Spade followed.

Feng stopped walking. "Everyone! Pay attention! I will be demonstrating how inferior peasants are to true royals!" He said.

"Yeah!" Cheers could be heard in the crowd.

"Show him the power of a royal."

As everyone's anticipation came to an all high, Feng made the first move, dashing head-on towards Qin who continued to stand still. "Don't get overconfident!" Feng yelled as he ran towards Qin.

"I have never entered a fight overconfident," Qin said firmly as he stood his ground. "The real overconfident one is you!" Qin said again as he took out his sword and held it in front of himself.

"Me!? Says the one standing still during a fight!" Feng yelled again drew his sword out of his sheath and struck Qin. Qin however easily dodged the attack and stepped to the side before hitting Feng in the neck with the hilt of his sword.

'There's no reason to unnecessarily kill the poor brat, that would only cause more troubles for me.' Qin thought to himself.

Feng felt as though he was going to pass out as his legs gave up beneath him and he immediately fell to the ground, however, he quickly regained consciousness. Qin had hit one of his pressure points that immobilized the target's legs for a short amount of time. "You! How dare you!" Feng yelled in anger.

"The overconfident one was not the one that stood still, but the one who charged forward mindlessly," Qin said as he kicked Feng in the face, driving his head to the ground.

"Hahaha!" Qin laughed.

A man quickly appeared on top of Feng.

A wave of silence hit the crowd of royal kids and none of them could say a word.

"Bring me a real challenge!" Qin yelled. Even after the taunt, not a single noise was heard from the crowd of royals, while on the other hand, many other kids from the larger crowds were cheering for Qin.

"Wow! Way to show them!" Someone in the crowd yelled.

"He's a prodigy, what was his name again?" Another yelled.

Of course, the Yen and the others were now also cheering for Qin.

"Whohoo! Nice job Qin! I never doubted you from the start!" Yen yelled.

"Amazing! I knew you had it in you!" Spade followed.

"Weren't you the guys saying he couldn't possibly win against him only a minute ago?" Hephas said in confusion.

As Qin looked around himself, he saw someone walking up to him with multiple dishes of meat. "Here you go! Please help your selves!" A cook who looked like he was in his forties said. Qin noticed that the man had a familiar face.

"You, didn't I meet you in that fried fish tavern?" Qin said.

"Yes, indeed you did, my name is Kang Gan." The man said smiling. Many questions arose in Qin's head.

"So, why are you out here in the middle of nowhere?" Qin said. 'There is no possible way that he actually lived in the village from the start, it is simply too far away from the kingdom.' Qin thought to himself.

The man stopped smiling and looked at the ground. After pausing for a little bit, he finally answered. "Oh, haha! Well, it was quite hard to pay rent in such a prosperous kingdom! We couldn't afford to stay there much longer." He then said, lifting his head and smiling. This time, however, Qin could tell that his smile was not genuine, it was almost forced.

The man left before Qin said anything else. "Well, I have to go now, enjoy your meals." He said as he left.

'Well, there's another reason to crush the Han guild.' Qin thought to himself as he walked toward his friends with the plates of meat. As Qin ate, Zand told him that all of the carriages were going to stay in the village for another day or so in order to allow the horses to rest.

Zand also told him that this village had a pretty good market, so Qin knew what he wanted to do first thing in the morning, and that was to check out the market. Qin and the others separated into their own tents and spent the night there. Before he slept, Qin decided to check out his current skills and spells.

Conquer was one of the two passive skills that Qin had, but unlike immunity, he didn't know what the conditions were for it to activate. It had only activated itself once on the five of his friends, but there was no condition that he met in order to activate it.

As he thought of this, Qin fell fast asleep and the next day quickly arrived. Qin woke up as per usual and got out of the tent. As he exited, he felt a completely different atmosphere than that of last night.

There were many kids that seemed to have been honing their skills near their tents. The five others were also training. The resting site was located right on the outskirts of the actual village itself, so Qin decided to make his way over there in order to check out the market it had. After arriving, he could see that the village was in very poor condition compared to the kingdom.

There were many houses made of large gray-stone bricks that looked like medieval English buildings but dark and thick vines were growing into the cracks of the houses and surrounding all of the old and cracked walls.

In the middle of the village, there was a large and open shopping market, it looked similar to the black market but was much more lively and bright.

The reason why Qin wanted to check out the market was that he was very sort of money. The currency of this world went from copper coins to silver coins and finally gold coins, each holding one hundred of the one below it so a hundred coppers made a single silver coin and a hundred silver coins made one gold coin.

Currently, Qin had only two hundred silver coins exactly, meaning only had a measly two gold coins. It wasn't nearly enough for what Qin needed. After arriving at the academy, he needed to buy the best equipment and elixirs to boost his cultivation.

While looking around, Qin noticed a commotion in the distance. There was a large group of people crowding a single shop. Out of curiosity, Qin decided to see what was going on.

After making his way past a crowd of people, Qin saw four people that were dressed in the Han guild uniform. 'Them again.' Qin thought. Out of the four, one was quite big and was holding a man by the collar.

The man who was being held by the collar looked to be the shopkeeper and was completely bloody and bruised, so bloody that his face could barely be recognized.

"Let that man go! How much more can you it him! You can barely even recognize him anymore, you monsters!" A woman from the crowd of people yelled.

Upon an eye signal from the large Han guild member, one of the three lackeys walked over and slapped the woman in the face, splitting the skin on her cheekbone with the force of the blow. She screamed and dropped to her knees.

"Let him go? He is an escaped felon from a large kingdom! We can't just let him go so easily!" The Han guild member with the muscular body said as he threw the man to the ground. Multiple cracking sounds could be heard as his body impacted the hard dirt floor. Finally, Qin could recognize who it was.

Just as he had thought, it was the forty-year-old man from the day before, Kang Gan. A dark shadow appeared under Qin's eyes. "Now hand over all the profit you got from this store, it is the property of the Han guild you criminal!" The brute yelled at Kang as he got squatted down and looked Kang in the face.

"Why the hell are you bastards always disturbing my peace?" Qin said as he stepped forward. A hint of irritation could be heard in his voice.
