Chapter 14 - Rumbling

"Now that everyone has calmed down, I would to give a toast in honor of the alliance between our three kingdoms!" King Arthur said as he rose a glass of wine in the air.

Cheers could be heard in the crowd, this was something that happened annually and strengthened the alliance between the three kingdoms and their people. Everyone rose glass in the air. The three kings stood up and rose glasses of wine in the air as well.

"May our alliance be the one to take over the world!" Arthur said loudly. All present at the banquet cheered and clinked their glasses. Qin wasn't in the best of moods but he had calmed down thanks to the help of Rose and the others.

Accordingly, nothing else out of the ordinary happened at the banquet. After a couple of hours, it was over and Qin returned back to his room. His main priority now was to pass the entrance exam of the Pluxine Magic Academy.

Several days quickly passed as Qin trained with Elador, Hephas, and the others. Qin had finally turned ten and it was the day of the departure. All six of Qin's group were lined up outside of the castle, after a little while of waiting, two other kids of the same age also came out of the castle with what looked to be a guard of some sort.

The two kids were the royal prince and princess of the kingdom of Loran, in other words, Qin's half-siblings that he had seen a couple of days before at the holy tribunal. They walked down the stairs of the main entrance and stood a couple of meters away from Qin and the others.

"What? Do they think they are so great?" Yen said, slightly annoyed at the fact that they didn't have the audacity to even stand next to them.

"Leave them, man. They had been taught as if they own the world from the day they were born, they won't possibly listen to any reasoning." Spade replied.

Qin then looked at the man standing next to the two, he looked about the age of 40 and wore knights' armor. his face could be clearly seen and he had an annoyed look.

Soon, a royal carriage that was driven by horses arrived in front of the main entrance. It was quite large, big enough to hold over ten people if they didn't care about personal space.

Qin and the others quickly hopped on, and the other two and their guard followed soon after. Before they entered, Qin could hear the guard talking to the carriage driver. "Are you serious!? You're saying that true royalty has to travel with those half-bloods? This is not safe for the young master and young mistress!" He argued with the carriage driver.

"I'm sorry sir but only one carriage was ordered." The driver replied back. The guard let out a sigh of frustration before getting inside with the other two.

When Qin heard this, he wanted to do something, but everyone else inside had also heard this, and gave him looks as to say "Don't you dare do anything stupid again."

And so the carriage departed on its journey to Pluxine Magic Academy. From the others, Qin had learned that the entrance exams were supposed to be extremely difficult, so to prepare, they were going to arrive early and train there before taking the exam.

Apparently, these entrance exams were a sight to see, thousands of people from other regions of the mortal plains would come just to witness it, including different kings and high officials.

The Pluxine magic academy was a big deal, it wasn't ruled over by any kingdom, it was almost its own kingdom that had its own territory.

The school was one of the three largest academies in the mortal plains, giving it more power than the three nations of Cerulean, Shanhui, and Loran combined due to its heavy backing of several kingdoms.

Qin was sure that many kings would come to see the entrance exams, so he wanted to put on a large show and etch his names into their skulls.

Qin and the others traveled on the carriage for three days, taking breaks along the way until they reached their first official rest site that marked the halfway point to the academy. On the way, Qin had seen many sites of this world that he had never seen before back on earth.

Weird and never before animals and some animals that he was quite familiar with were seen as well. The mountainsides and long paths gave Qin a bit of calmness due to him never really leaving his home for his entire life.

The horses in this world that carried his carriage looked similar to those of earth, but were clearly far superior, being able to travel 100 miles in just a single day. Other than the major similarities, horses of this new world had larger muscles and healthier manes, and on average were a good bit bigger.

By the time they had arrived, the moon was already bright in the night sky.

The rest site was located in a small village called Jumia in the dense and wild forest of Kataan which was the largest forest in all of the mortal plains. Since the creation of the Pluxine magic academy, the village has let scholars that hoped to join the academy stay there and rest.

Because of this, many other kids from hundreds of different kingdoms around the mortal plains had gathered here, all with their own carriages. there were around a thousand kids in total who were present at the resting place that were all gathered around their carriages.

The kids were of all statuses, just from how their clothes and their carriages looked, one could tell the peasants from nobles and high royals. However, there was an overwhelming amount of nobles due to the fact that the poor weren't even allowed to participate in such a grand ceremony for the most part and also because of the scarce amount of royals.

Near where the carriages were parked was an area where food was being prepared by the people of the villages in dozens of campfires. As Qin exited his carriage, he could see that the place was heavily crowded.

The prince and princess came out of the carriage behind Qin and the others and left with their guard to what seemed to be a special section for royals. It was a small gathering near where the food was being prepared.

It seemed that food was being served there first.

People talked and sat around on the open field of grass. To many others, such a sight may have been a breathtaking experience, but to Qin, it was nothing special. The only special feeling that Qin felt at the present moment was hunger.

Qin started to walk towards where the food was being prepared. "Hey! Where are you going!" Yen yelled. Everyone there was simply staying in their own lane waiting for food, the five didn't know what Qin was trying to do.

"Fine! I'll get you some as well!" Qin said annoyed before turning around and continuing to walk toward the cooking site.

"What?" Yen said. He had no idea what Qin was talking about. "You really can't control that guy." Zand laughed.

Qin made his way over to one of the food stations. "Hey, get me six plates of meat and water along with it," Qin said to one of the cooks.

"Oh, we have the policy to serve the royals first. We don't believe it to be fair either but we are just doing our jobs, sorry." The cook nervously laughed while scratching his head.

Qin then looked around himself. Many people were already looking at him as well. He finally looked back at the chef. "Royals? You are clearly looking at the most supreme royal right in front of you, are you blind?" Qin then said confidently.

"I-" The cook didn't know what to say. Qin had now captured the attention of many people in the crowd. Especially the royals.

"What did he say!? Who the hell does he think he is!?" An arrogant sounding royal yelled.

"He does not know his place!" Another growled.

Qin quickly moved his eyes to those who spoke out amongst the crowd. His gaze was like that of a tiger, it was scary just to keep eye contact. Those who spoke arrogantly quickly shut their mouths and looked to the floor.

'What is this insane pressure that I'm feeling.' The royal who spoke out before thought to himself as cold shivers ran down his back.

Qin looked back at the cook. "Now, are you going to give me the food or will I have to take it myself, I'm getting hungry here," Qin said.

"How dare you try to ruin the peace of this rest site with your vile language, you peasant." A royal spoke up from the crowd as others moved away to reveal him.

"Huh?" Qin looked at who spoke back to him. It was a royal that he had seen before, he looked to be the same age as Qin and had two bright orange colors feathers sticking out from his shoulders. His gaze also looked down upon Qin.

"Do you want to die?" Qin said coldly.
