Chapter 6 - Main Dining Hall

The sound of birds chirping in a bright and colorful day awoke Qin up from his long slumber. His mother had already woken up and was knitting some clothes for Qin, in hopes that he would come out of his coma one day and give her a big hug again. The single thought of that made her slightly teary.

Over the years, people had criticized Qin as the failure of the royal family, and to those people, it made sense. He was the only unwanted child of the royal family. After finishing her knitting, he sat down next to Qin and gently caressed his forehead.

At this moment, Qin opened his eyes which now had changed color from before, going from dark brown to a majestic blue color. Qin's mother gasped loudly in shock. Qin looked over to his mother who was above him. "Mother?" He asked innocently, not knowing what she had been through these past years.

She immediately hugged him as hard as she could. Her child had finally awoken, her prayers had come true! She couldn't help but cry. Qin hated himself for letting being so weak that the system had to put him in metamorphosis for years, making his mother suffer along the way.

This strengthened his resolve to become strong even more. "Mother, I want to explore the outside world," Qin said.

----------

It was time for breakfast. As Qin walked confidently with his mother beside him, the large number of people in the halls and in the separate rooms were shell-shocked! "Is that the failure prince?! He has awoken from his coma!?" A person said as they saw him in the halls.

People started to chatter around and word quickly spread around about the failure prince, and how he had awoken! This was not to be expected by anyone! Truth be told, everyone had slight suspicions that the higher-ups had something to do with his condition.

Qin followed his mother as they made their way into the "Main Dining Hall." Which was a little bit farther away from the "Supreme Royal Family Main Dining Hall". The main dining hall was much larger than the other one, it was meant for the three sub-royal families that were formed from the three concubines of the king.

The room consisted of a large table in the middle similar to the one he had been to last night. The other sub-royal families had already sat down to eat. Qin's mother had not come to eat in the main dining hall at all. She made up her mind that she would only eat there once her child would awaken.

Since most of the sides were already filled with the other two families, Qin simply walked over to where there were the least amount of people and sat down, putting his legs on the table. As they sat down, silence immediately struck the room.

The other two families were quite shocked that he had actually miraculously come back after being in a coma for so long. This was the first time that they had seen him in a long time.

On the left was a woman wearing a luxurious green dress who looked to be around the age of 30. She had a long face with small eyes, two of her kids who were meant to be Qin's half-siblings were sitting next to her. One was a girl who was about the same age as Qin, her facial structure was similar to her mother's. The other was a boy who was also the same age as Qin. Qin noticed that the mother and daughter of this sub-royal family were not fond of him and his mother at all.

He clearly saw their look of disgust as they walked inside of the room, and their pathetic attempt to hide it as well.

The boy however indifferently looked at his food. He was eating a bowl of soup, but instead of eating it, he was simply playing with it. It seemed that he was thinking of something else in his mind.

On the right side of Qin and his mother was another lady who was also around 30 years of age. Her face had many delicate features and looked much more elegant than the other one. Similar to the other woman, she also wore a luxurious dress that was purple and gleamed with sparkles. Her kids next to her were boys, all of which looked to all be around the same age as Qin.

One of them who wore a yellow robe seemed to hate the idea of Qin sitting on the same table as them. He gripped his fork as he stared at Qin. The other two didn't seem to care. Qin now had an idea of where they stood in this hierarchy.

Still, no one seemed to want to talk.

"Haha! Why the silence? Isn't anybody going to congratulate me for such a miraculous recovery?" Qin said out loud, breaking the silence as she smiled with his bright teeth.

Immediately after hearing this, the awkward aura disappeared, and the concubines felt like they had an obligation to say something. They started to speak with the Qin's mother, having conversations as any parent would. It seemed normal from the outside, but Qin knew that it was much different on the inside. Still, however, that didn't bother him much, he couldn't do anything about it right now anyway.

"Well done on taking care of your son throughout these four years, it must have been difficult!" One said while closing her eyes and smiling.

"Yes! How is he? I can imagine that his magic cultivation is very behind, it is truly unfortunate." The one in green followed up.

After a little while of talking amongst the parents, the maid-servants brought out the food as its delicious aroma quickly filled the room. Compared to his own lousy cooking, this meal was sure to be much greater.

Qin has presented an array of meats stemming from chicken to fish to many other types of meat in this world that were all cooked to perfection.

Qin quickly started to eat all that was on the table. Everyone else looked with awe as Qin continued to devour the food presented in front of him. His large appetite was one of his special qualities.

The food was amazing, such quality of food was not even heard of back on earth. After eating, Qin got up and started to walk out of the room with his mother. While walking out, Qin noticed that the boy wearing the yellow robe still seemed quite angry.

The boy looked down at the table as Qin walked closer and closer towards him. Although he wanted to say something, it felt as though Qin's aura of that of a grand magician, it was freakishly overwhelming.

Instead of saying something to Qin, he whispered over to his brothers. "Has this failure even been in a real duel yet? I bet I could take him out in a single hit." He said as smirked at his brothers.

Both of his brothers looked at him. "Why talk so much Yen, if you want to fight him, do it!" One of his brothers laughed.

"Huh? Brother Spade, Why would I waste my time on a weakling?" Yen replied.

"Don't tell me your scared are you?" Another one of Yen's brothers said.

Yen was slightly shocked at this statement. "Scared!? Of a failure with no magic?!" Yen blurted out loudly. Immediately after, he realized what he had just said out loud and looked towards Qin.

Qin was right behind him. 'I see, so this bastard wants to fight me huh? It might be a good idea to test out my mage rank.' Qin thought to himself.

Qin put his hand on Yen's shoulder. "What are we talking about?" Qin faked a smile.

"N-Nothing..." Yen said. For some odd reason, Qin's aura felt extremely formidable.

"He wants to duel you." A voice came from the other side of the table. It was the boy who was playing with his food earlier. Even now, he was indifferently looking at the soup, not batting an eye to anyone.

"Oh? Is this true?" Qin questioned.

Yen aggressively shrugged Qin's hand off of his shoulder and stood up. "At first I didn't want to waste my time with a weakling like you, but it seems you give me no choice. Follow me to the training grounds." Yen yelled as he stormed off.

"Yen wait!" His mother called out for him, but it was too late.

"Kehaha! I want to see this as well." One of Yen's brothers said as they both ran after Yen. In the next second, all of the kids in the main dining hall had left to the training grounds, only the parents were left.

"How dare they do this without our permission!" One of them said.

----------

All of the kids arrived at the training grounds. It was quite a large area outside that was guarded by a wall. There were many weapons to train with and over 50 soldiers currently training on the hard dirt ground.

After arriving, The kids grouped up beside Yen and Qin who were getting ready for their duel. "What are the rules for this duel?" Qin yelled out.

"Rules? That's simple, Make your enemy submit defeat or kill them!" Yen yelled back, replying to Qin.

"Leon! Since you made me fight this weakling, get fetch us some swords!" Yen yelled out to the boy who had called out Yen for wanting to fight Qin.

Some wooden swords were thrown towards both Yen and Qin.

"What?" Qin said as he grabbed the hilt of the sword.

"Haha... hahaha! You're giving me a sword!?" Qin laughed loudly. Yen was slightly confused.

"Of course, I am, that's how duels work!" Yen replied.

'It seems this fight will end much quicker than I thought.' Qin thought to himself.

"Begin!" The girl yelled out.
