As soon as the system voice faded away and was replaced by the noise of the waves. Rukku had a quick look around and then started to sprint, as hard as he could straight to where he could see the best temples were standing. Not that any of the temples that he passed were bad that was. Each one was unique and different, with a different architecture and if he had time to stop he would have loved to have a look at them all.
Let's say as he passed one which had two eagle statues guarding the door, he would be able to see the blue mana lines which ran into the temple and through the statues making it seem like they had eyes of their own.
As he hastened his sprinting, long since passing what he thought his limits would normally be. He suddenly realised that he was not getting any closer to the temples in the far distance. It was like they were always there, just he could not get to them.
Slowing down his maddened sprinting he slowly began to think. Well as he looked back, he could see already that he had run by scores upon scores of temples. Clenching his fist, he suddenly wondered if he had already passed by some of the best temples already? What if, what he could see were just illusions made to trick people. He thought that would be sneaky and yet it would also make sense in its own weird and special way.
What game after all would give players an advantage so easily?
Finally, as he fully stopped running at that thought, his brown eyes began to look around at the different temples that were around him. Nothing among those though seemed to be special. The animal statues outside of the closest four to him being a tiger, elephant, rhino as well as a snake. Though they all would give benefits no doubt.
It did not take a genius to know having a bloodline is better than not having one. And creatures in question should have to be of a certain strength to at least give a bloodline in the first place.
Looking around a bit more. Rukku decided to start going to his right, that side seemingly being a little uphill. Well if it was designed to be like that, maybe it was a small clue? The best is always at the top right?
Though he was not running as fast as he had been before if anything he was just going at a joggers pace. His eyes constantly scanning the temple's animal statues, looking for something that he would like.
Lion, leopard, cheetah, monkey, whale, shark, panda, rat!
Then he stopped outside of a tiger statue. He knew he had definitely passed this before? Was he going around in circles?
"Dam… But I can't be? Well, I guess I should change my direction a bit." Mumbling quietly to himself, Rukku quickly headed off again, in a slightly different direction to which he had been going before. Soon again now coming across a Lion statue once more. But looking more closely he realised that this one was different to the temple that he had seen before. Smiling a little at that, at least it meant that he was not going in circles.
Though that smile faded quickly.
"You have two minutes left! Better hurry up!" The childish voice of the system soon found its way into his ears, leading to him darting off again. In Rukku's mind, he just wanted to find some kind of mythological species bloodline. A phoenix would be the best!
As he ran harder and harder, looking around more and more. The system's voice soon sounded out again. "One minute left!"
Now Rukku was starting to panic. Turning left and right, he started to run harder and harder.
He still had not found the type of bloodline that he was looking for, then the system's voice. Seemingly coming quicker than before sounded out again. "Tens seconds!"
At this point, Rukku stopped caring and he did not know what to choose. So he just closed his eyes and ran blindly forwards.
His feet smashed against the dirt with every single step he took. Then the voice of the system sounded out again. "Three seconds!"
Opening his eyes suddenly, Rukku found himself right in front of a set of temple doors, not even looking behind himself. He reached out and went to push them open.
The moment he touched them, a deafening roar blasted out of the temple. Reducing the other temples around it to rubble and dust.
The two statues that flanked the gateway, lit up one golden and heavenly, the other statue black and demonic. The two statues just opened their maws as a golden and black light shot out intertwining in midair before both shot towards Rukku at a blinding speed.
He quickly heard the sudden change in the air, as it suddenly seemed to get louder, he only turned around to find the light smashing into his chest. The two forced him through the door and into the temple. Before it exploded out with a massive boom!
The explosion smashing the doors closed as well.
Poor Rukku however was left barely breathing on the floor. The explosion though did no real damage to him but still managed to knock the breath out of his body.
"Urghh," slowly he got up while groaning. Dust now covering his body, leading to him coughing a few times.
Before he could really glance around, a sudden flash of light interrupted him. Out of that light, a small girl appeared. Her blue eyes and long hair made her seem a little cute in the white dress that she was wearing. "Wow! You got into this temple! I thought you were unlucky but maybe I was wrong! You must be one of the luckiest people out there!"
The little girl in front of Rukku was the system or well he guessed it to be the system at least. Rukku could tell immediately, though her calling him lucky did make him wonder. Just what bloodline temple had he gotten himself into?
"Well before you gain the bloodline. You have to do some tests. Do your best ok? The better you do, the better and higher grade of bloodline you will get!"
The moment she finished talking, she simply disappeared into a white flash. Then the fires along the walls of the temple all lit up. One after the other, each making a little noise as it lit up.
Looking around Rukku found himself to be inside an arena.
"This is going to be bad…." His eyes warily looked around. One thing that he knew about himself was that he really did not know how to fight well.
