The next day Rukku slowly got out of bed. Looking out at the basic room, he weirdly had thought that he was in some kind of dream. The wall looking so clean was just surreal and weird for him. Thought his weird mindset soon passed, as he thought about everything that he would have to do today. In truth, it was not much but give out some orders and help out where he could. Though looking around this building would be good in of itself.
Going downstairs he found that all of the others were already up and moving. Having made a small broth for breakfast, he was soon passed a bowel, though alongside that there was the normal greeting and bow. That Rukku seemed to like a lot as well.
After eating it all quickly, he looked u at the people who were waiting for his words. "For now, I want everyone to do the same as yesterday. Though one group should look around on the other side of the valley and maybe some of you should see if there is a way to cross the river." His words were a bit more planned for once, though the main aim, for now, was just to understand the land around him. Everyone quickly nodded at his words and all of the people quickly moved out, leaving just Rukku and Ber within the hall.
"Lord, what will you be doing today?" Rukku could not tell if Ber was curious or if he just wanted to see if Rukku would be useful. Not overly caring for whatever reason it was he said, "I will look around the hall today and then practise for a bit." Rukku as he spoke suddenly realised he had not even swung his sabre once in the past day. The old man would surely beat him for that.
Ber though just smiled a little. "I am glad you are like that Lord. You should leave these lesser tasks to us. It is our joy to be under and to help you after all. Now, last night those ladies. Do you lord maybe prefer..men?"
The sudden question caught Rukku off guard heavily causing him to cry out in shock.
"I like ladies, you do not have to say anything like that again ok?" Rukku rapidly spoke his reply back at Ber only to get a confused look in response.
"Then why do you not sleep with them? You should worry about the succession as well as it would help you relax more lord. Hmm. Tonight would you at least assign yourself a personal maid. This would at least ease this old man's heart." Rukku could only helplessly agree, knowing full well the old man, just wanted him to sleep with the girl!
Who knew fantasy people were so worried about such a thing? With all that out of the way, Ber soon left the hall to join his group in their exploration mission. Rukku after recovering from the hard conversation slowly began to look around.
Most of the rooms were empty just had some random chairs and tables within. One of the upstairs rooms though did have a few books. Seeing them Rukku was intrigued. Walking over he pulled one out at random. Its cover read, A Guide To City Building.
Rukku just smiled. After looking through all of the other books, he found that the ten books in total were all of a similar nature. These would be useful he thought and seeing as he would have a while until he nightfall. He slowly began to read through one, only stopping when it started to go onto more complicated topics.
Rukku's head felt like it was going to burst and he walked downstairs he chuckled thinking the headache reminded him of a headache one would get after suffering from a terrible headache.
Soon enough he found himself standing outside. Slowly, he began to practise the basic moves he had been taught, speeding up as he went. In his practice, he seemed to enter a trance like state. Each move was redone over and over until it reached perfection in his eyes. This went on until the noise of loud clapping brought him out of his state.
Looking around in surprise he found that the sun was already beginning to set, and all of the groups had returned. They had just been standing there watching him practise. Looking around shyly at them all, he just wanted to find a hole and bury himself within it.
While thinking all of that, someone yelled out. "The Lord is amazing! No one can hurt us with him around!" The cry was soon picked up by everyone else who, with another loud cheer echoing off the mountain range soon being heard.
In the end, everyone soon went back inside and began to prepare for their evening meal again. Rukku just watched on happily, then Ber once again came over. "Lord, do not forget what we spoke about this morning." Then he walked off once more, hearing that Rukku shivered a little. This old man would just not let it go!
Standing up, Rukku began to look at everyone, the ladies especially. Each one was charming in their own way and all of them would be able to do the job nicely. Though his eyes were drawn to one of the two from the night before. Most especially the quieter of the two though although she was quiet she was always direct. At least he should not be caught off guard now.
Sighing a little, he cleared his throat gaining the silence and attention of the entire hall. "Everyone, I have been advised by Ber that as the Lord I should take a maid. So would the two from last night come forwards please?"
No one said anything as both of them came forwards. The two seemed to be nervous for some reason, although he did not know why they were at all.
"Could you please tell me your names," the loudest of the two soon spoke up in response.
"I am Laas, Lord." Then quietly after her, the other who had Rukku's attention spoke, "Lord, my name is Zifa."
Rukku went quiet for a few seconds finding that their names were really pretty. "Ok them, Zifa will be my personal maid from now on and Laas you will be the household's maid. Both will remain here with me from tomorrow onwards to assist me in my tasks."
His words were only met with a knowing smile from the crowd and yet this is not what Rukku meant at all!
The newly made maids, both just blushed. Rukku was stunned at this. Was it just that everyone was hard-wired to think that way?
