Chapter 11 - Finally Moving Forwards!

After his speech, Rukku and Ber both organised the entire population. In total there were now 130 people in the village and well Rukku was not having 130 people all stay within his house.

Quickly he established a few groups to work on different tasks. Fifty people would be put to work on truly establishing the farmland and using the resources they were going to be growing rice as well as potatoes, then forty were put to work on building up houses for people to stay in. The idea was well, it was a village, not some weird mega family.

That left forty people. Out of those thirty of them were sent to the woodland to harvest and acquire more lumber for firewood as well as lumber to carry on building more buildings, this would allow for them finally Rukku hoped to be self-sustaining. Now the last ten people included Ber, his two maids as well as five people from the exploration team and two others. The exploration team were using the weapons from the adventures and Rukku had them going through some basic drills so that he would have a very small militia.

The last people were married, the reason Rukku did not assign them a task was simple. Both of them had a noble bloodline. This was for Rukku the biggest benefit that he had got, the man who was named Andis and his wife was Haeshe. Haeshe was the better of the two as she said she understood the basics of combat, though she was just at Rukku's level in techniques. It did not do much but she was the group leader of the militia. On arrival, she had a sword as well as some slightly finer clothes.

Andis though admitted he was more of a mapmaker. Rukku did not really know what to do with him and in the end, went with the suggestion of Ber. Andis and Ber both left to make a map of the nearby region.

It had been another week since everyone was sent out on their tasks. Rukku was a little bored, all he did mostly was read books as well as practise his combat techniques. No one would let him do anything at all. He could not even leave the nearby space of his house due to the people being so worried.

After arranging with Zifa what he wanted for dinner, he wandered outside to see the six militia fighters all engaged in one vs one fighting. They had all gained an understanding of the basics, each one was now unlike the first down able to move around and launch a couple of strikes. Though the one against Haeshe was quickly beaten, the strength of the bloodline once again demolishing everything that was in its way.

"Lord! How are you today?" Haeshe suddenly yelled out as she turned around. Rukku just smiled at her, she was definitely loud.

"I am fine, just wondering what I should do. I really want Ber to get back soon so that I can begin to plan a bit more. The houses are nearly done so most people with have a house to live in, which will mean the builders will need to start work on something else. I was thinking storehouse as well as then some basic fortifications around the outskirts of the village, before doing the same within the valley itself." In response to his mini monologue, Haeshe just smiled.

"To me my Lord, it seems like you have got it all worked out. I honestly do not know why you trust Ber so much anyway. Yes, he was the leader of the initial group but he is after all a commoner. Much like when Royals come along, I expect to be shoved to the side too. You think weirdly that is for sure." After speaking she turned back to her militiamen and quickly had them start onto a different drill.

Rukku though was just left with more thoughts as usual. Though seeing her distracted he quickly moved away from the settlement and walked back into the valley, he could not help but look at the floor, where the bodies had once been.

The fight quickly ran through his head again, before slowly he looked up and over the plains. It was weird, out there somewhere was a massive city that was incomparable to his small village and yet, he wanted to surpass it and found his kingdom. The city though was not the problem, the real problem was the adventures that could travel out here.

He could hold them off but if they came in actual numbers their small village would be overwhelmed and everyone would be killed. The worst outcome was well defiantly the worse.

"Why are you out here?" The quiet of Zifa soon passed by his ears. Smiling a little he turned around and looked at her.

"Well, I feel so bored and stuck back there. I do not really have anything to do and no one really acts normally with me." Slowly the two of them sat down together.

"Well Rukku, you are the Lord. You rule us. I mean there are some things you could do, but for now, you can not do much. Your aim should be on growing the village into a town and beyond. If you want fun…." Slowly she got closer to his ear, then she whispered. "You could have me and Laas serve you at night. You would not be bored then and everyone would be happier to…"

Her words sent shivers down his spine, yet he although opposed to the idea still, he was not that against it. Honestly, having such beautiful women say that to him well who would not want it to happen to them?

Holding her hand suddenly, leading to an unexpected gasp. He just smiled and said, "In the future, yes but for now, I just have a bad feeling you know? Maybe it is knowing we are so near to a massive threat. I just feel worried for you all. I want the first time to be special and amazing you know?" After all of that Zifa just nodded her head.

"We should go back home now Lord. If not everyone will go crazy and organise a manhunt for you again. We do not definitely want that to happen."

The two of them then stood up and walked back together. Laying his eyes on the village Rukku smiled. It looked way more like a village now. They had made up 15 houses for people to stay in and with his house that made 16. In the future more would be needed but this would do, for now, it at least meant everyone could be a little more spread out, compared to how they had been.

Walking past the annoyed glances of the villages, Rukku smiled helplessly. He could be considered a prisoner in his own home and this point. As he sat down, Laas walked out.

"Lord, something appeared randomly on the floor while you were gone. It appeared on top of where the monument would be."

Her words shocked Rukku to the core. What the hell had happened now!?
