As they walked further and further inside, Rukku could not help but still notice how plain everything seemed to be, aside from the initial room that they entered of course. It was a little weird, why not just spread out what they show to others instead of having it all in one room.
Then the lady finally stopped in front of a decorative wooden door, the door being carved with varying images all depicting the dragons and battles. It was an impressive feat but it just seemed to show fighting instead of telling any story like which carvings would normally do.
The lady then took in a deep breath and pushed the door open. It did not make a noise as it opened, in fact, there was no noise coming from the room which it opened into as well.
His face furrowed a little in thought on why there was no noise, Rukku followed her around the corner with the priest and the rest of his entourage following behind him.
The room that they all had entered was a little more decorative, unlike the hallways that they had been walking through. The floor was made up of dark wood, aside from that there were three pillars on each side of the room. Each pillar is made up of the same wood though being tarnished into different colours. Aside from that, there was the throne that was at the end of the room. The throne itself could only be called magnificent. It was made up of carved wood, almost like the entire throne had come from the same log.
The man sitting on the throne Rukku quickly assumed to be the noble which he had been taken here to meet. The man in question looked smart and formal, his black hair tied back into a simple note and his black being well trimmed as well. His clothes were neat and formal as well. If anything he seemed to be too strict in comparison to everything that he had seen here so far.
The lady then walked up to the man on the throne bowing her head a little and then kissing him lightly on the lips. She seemed to whisper something into his ears that made him smile. Rukku seeing the smile did not know what to make of it and just carried on walking into the room until he eventually stopped looking at the noble curiously.
The noble then finally stood up. "Well…It is nice to meet you." He then walked a bit further forwards so that he was almost touching Rukku. Then smiling broadly, "I guess you are here for me and my clan so that we can follow you into your domain?" The man seemed to be speaking happily about all of this and Rukku could not help but feel that something was wrong here.
"Well, that would be the best outcome for me yes. But would you follow me with all of your people?" The man's smile only broadened at Rukku's question, him seemingly being happy that he was correct.
"Well, of course, I would be honoured to follow you, my scion, in fact, I do not ask for much at all. I only wish for things. Marry my daughter. She does not have to be your main wife, just take her as one of your consorts, then I and my clan will follow you with everything that we have." The question or more accurately request stunned Rukku, though he did not miss the annoyed and angry look for the lady who had led him here.
"Well, first off how about you introduce yourself to me…and I do the same to you. We may talk about your request of course…" Rukku felt so confused, this was the only answer he had so that he could slow down the conversation and give himself time to think.
The noble just carried on smiling not even fazed by the question. "Sure I am Assala a descendant of the tenth scion. This is my wife Leith. And you are?" His calm attitude seemed for some reason to just be weird slowly it was starting to get on the nerves of Rukku who forcing a smile responded kindly. "I am Rukku, The eleventh scion."
The noble just carried on smiling, "So Scion Rukku do you accept my proposal or do you wish to decline?" Rukku got the meaning quickly and if he did not say no he had no doubt that the people would not follow him. But this was his marriage! He personally still had the ideals from earth one of the key ones being well do not go for an arranged marriage where the girl is likely being forced. But this was a game and he really could use the people.
His thoughts spinning around in his head, caused an awkward silence to descend onto the room with everyone standing quietly waiting for his decision.
The mental battle continued with him going between progress and morals. The entire mental argument was exhausting and yet now he had finally decided.
Looking up at the noble in the eye he said. "I will do as you say with your daughter but you have to follow me the moment I leave the city and all of you have to come with me and bring all of the wealth and as much as you can with me. Is that a deal?" The noble did not even hesitate surprising Rukku more.
"Of course, that will be done. I guess we will have the marriage ceremony when we arrive at your village then. Well, it will be a town soon I guess." The noble nodding his head to himself suddenly grunted in pain. Looking down it seemed his wife, the lady who had led them here had pinched him.
She then looked up at Rukku and said, "Well for now. Would you follow me so that you can at least meet my daughter and your bride to be? I also want to talk to you about some stuff. Your people may stay here and wait for us to return." The lady then stood up and grabbed Rukku's arm dragging him out of the room.
Leaving everyone else stunned and surprised.
